Re: Possible Indian Military Scenarios - XII
Dear Vivek,
None would be happier if proved wrong
. In the first scenario the MKIs are yet to be engaged with Chini SUs and in the second the Arjuns are waiting in Askai Chin. The comment was just my assesment not as a criticism.

Vivek Welcome back. My two pice suggestion: If you want to publish the book on your own why dont you launch a advance pre booking after initial talks with the printer. This will help you on two counts i) give you a better estimate of the number of copies you target to print ii) help you with working...

Somehow I have a feeling he wont continue with this scenario anymore. Isnt it logical if he is writing book not to tell the end of the story beforehand. I will be glad if I am wrong ![Smile :-)](./images/smilies/smile.gif)

Re: INS Arihant (ATV) News and Discussion -2
Yes and since this is our first nuclear sub I think DRDO, Navy and BARC would like to very sure about all systems before criticality is planned for. After low power criticality is achieved then slowly they will increase to full power.

Re: INS Arihant (ATV) News and Discussion -2
The reactor on Arihant is not critical, but I dont think it will be bought on land again and tested. It will be commissioned in sea that's how it is done for all US nuke subs. A review committee okays everything and gives go ahead to make the reactor critical.

Re: Indian Army: News & Discussion
I agree with Somnath. There two sides to the issue, But one thing we must remmber that unless we develop our own MIC we will always at the mercy of other people. There's no permanent friend. IMO both the armed forces and the DRDO are to be blamed and overall above the GOI. There has been absolutely ...

Re: INS Arihant (ATV) News and Discussion -2
The other two hulls under construction are neither heavier nor bigger, similar design. If one wants to change/improve designs then one waits till the first one is commissioned to get feed back data. I think it should be 80MW Th, a submarine will need only a 3/4 MWe for its electrical needs.

Shankar ji,
Its U238 which gets coneverted to Plutonium239 by capturing a neutron. And usually PWR type nuclear reactors dont produce much superheat. INS Arihant could be a special design.

Vivek,
The tragedy is that in this forum a "self styled expert" is preaching without any understanding/appreciation of the effort involved in writing a realistic scenario. He had been snubbed more than once in the past but I think it has no effect on his kanchan armour type of skin.

The difference between India/Pakistan is not same as US/Iraq or Russia/Georgia. About taking action against Bangladesh without going out for a full scale war will endanger the life of 1.2 crore hindus living there.
