If the jigs and tooling for the phased out Mirage-2000 line is available, then every attempt should be made to bring that in from Dassault. It's a familiar aircraft and there is no need to go through a learning curve from ground up. Besides it's not an obsolete design yet. All it needs is updated av...

Has ADA or HAL ever thought about a Conformal Fuel Tank option over the wings. The wing and body blend looks like it can be re-worked to easily accommodate a good 40 minutes of extra flying as an option. Would anyone be able to give some input on the pros and cons here. Endurance being one of the im...

Pipistrel is a known entity in Europe and they've been around. The BSF should get hold of these land anywhere-operate anywhere, where there is a 1,200 ft. dirt strip. And better still you don't need LL-100 AvGas or any aviation fuel to fly it. Regular vehicle gas would do just fine. Not surprised th...

Mig-27 depletion can be replaced with new HAL-built Darin-3 Jaguars with an Elta front end and either a tried and tested upgraded Adour or the proposed HoneyWell option. The tooling and jigs are still around. Only floor space is a concern, possibly occupied by the Hawk production line. It's an optio...

Sorry not connected to the MH story, but this big myth about the DF-21 being able to target something in the open ocean is now all 'out the window'....not even with 10 freakin PRC sats working double time. And we're looking at a static target here, not counting ocean currents.

Re: Indian Military Aviation- September 29 2013
Do consider from an operational point of view, the EMB-145 just requires an airfield of about 4,500ft on a (29.92)std. pressure day, to refuel and get going from one mission to another in the tactical battle space. And these are pretty rugged aircraft to deal with, with minimal ground support. As of...

So they are getting rid of the Rotax and replacing it with 200HP diesels certainly are a good way to go. Point being, if Rust2 is intended to be operated at between FL250-300 (25-30,000ft) for an endurance exceeding 24hrs, then the Rotax certainly does not cut it. And if it's diesel powered, fuel is...
