Re: MRCA News and Discussion
If Tejas platform can deliver all this we have no reason to buy a medium weight fighter and nor do we need to start work on Medium Combat Aircraft! Although we have come far, I would still not like to have an Indian product that needs more work to be inducted into service! These aircrafts are serio...

Re: MRCA News and Discussion
May be wrong but I think what he is saying is: MRCA was a necessity when the Tejas was delayed, but now that they are being rolled out at the end of the year, what is the need for the MMRCA? Yes I agree, it was a necessity back then and was meant to be a quick purchase of medium weight multi role f...

Re: MRCA News and Discussion
Great, makes sense to me! Point Air Defence, CAS, CAP, Air Interdiction and SEAD! Perfect! If this works out, it will be great! "So as I see it Tejas connot afford to be a failure." - Again great, I would not like to see my tax money be wasted either. Lets all write a petition to HAL abou...

Re: MRCA News and Discussion
Tejas will get a AESA eventually but not now, only when the technology becomes more affordable! Now AESA is very expensive, my guess is $5m+ a piece. That has to be complemented with BVR missiles like the Astra, which makes it even more expensive. It makes no sense to put something so expensive on ...

Re: LCA news and discussion
I guess, it's Elta 2052 (and not 2032). Asit sir, as far as I know through my readings on BRF the radar that will be integrated first on LCA MK1 for initial opterational clearence will either be a hybrid of our MMR and Elta's 2032, or would entirely be the 2032. Elta's 2052 would in all probability...

Re: LCA news and discussion
CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT RADAR the first 40 LCA MARK 1 WILL HAVE? will it be el/m-2032 or mmr with el/m-2052 aesa front end I can't say for sure, but I guess it would be a hybrid radar with air to air modes of mmr while air to ground modes of elta's 2032 radar. So it would be hybrid between our mmr...

Re: Vote for the MRCA
I've voted for Dassault Raffale. It meets the original criteria of the competition to have an advanced technology multirole fighter, is not Russian (overreliance), is of a new design but has been used in war time scenarios, past experience with Mirage has been great, and is also sanction proof. Just...
