PMO, former NSA, IAF chiefs...
What is disheartening is the alleged involvement of PMO in this.

But yes, the super-duper "patentable procurement system" is so torturous that it not only wrote off the most practical fighter (IMO the F-18 with the same engines as the LCA is still the best choice) but now also threatens to write off the winner of the competition. Its the same farcical ...

* Rafale: To make it exportable, the French have invested too much into this plane, much more than the French as a nation would have liked to. So, any upgrades, enhancements for an Indian Rafale would cost an arm and a leg+ - the French way. This deal could easily balloon into some $50-60 billion i...

This decoy system seems to be far more effective then the single decoy shots we see during Navy day shows.
Rheinmetall MASS
Was this ever considered for IN? Is there a similar system on IN/RN ships?

Brahmos makes an excellent Shore based defense system. It will bring the capability to effectively target Hainan and Sanya naval assets. I remember the Dhanush Jugaad. If anything similar can be done to Vietnamese Navy in a SHTF situation, there is a lot Brahmos can deliver. And given the offense fi...

It seems to be fired from something that looks like an AK630 shaped turret. Could be a launcher arm.

This is claimed to be a pic of Vikramaditya firing something.
I am missing something. Vik was allegedly removed of all the defensive and offensive missiles and was supposed to have if any after it was delivered.
Any change of plans?

Looks like the V-22's cost 65 mil a piece. Thats a Rafale for you. But still I cant stop thinking about the suitability of this aircraft as an AEW/ASW, refueler or CBG based Marpat AC.

I watched a movie called 9th company on Netflix a few days ago. Its quite better in portraying the classic Assaults. ^Range apart, same warhead capability.
What I fail to see is why stop at 400KM? I am guessing at Prahaar to be a bigger better and linearly costly to 9M55xx of Smerch, which makes sense to me. Anything more (minus Cruise) and I see advocacy of using strategic weapons at tactical level.

Modifying a missile to triple its range nothing but a new missile.
I don't know of any MRLS with such a capability. And having an area saturation at 400KM is scary.

shooting a $2000 dumb bomb with a $1 million missile is a game we cannot win. even akash inspite of being cheaper is too large for that role. spyder and derby or iron dome/vl mica/amraam none of them are cheap enough. trishul being passively guided with no onboard radar again would still be too cos...
