IIRC center pylon became a victim of LCA being overweight.
On another note, the LGB on right side (of the pic) is Griffin while the left side seems to have paveway. This possibly means two types of LGB's have been tested on LCA

Military solutions are meant to be functional even if they are not good looking.
Plus what info do we have about that black cover to brand it as a jugaad ? For all we know, it might be a well researched product to keep dust away (and not off the shelf black rubber sheet used as an ad-hoc measure).

There is no problem with Indian Army as such. Israelis design, build and operate tanks as per the requirements of terrain obtainable in their country and its vicinity. India must do the same. Wiki says that Mi 17-1V has load carrying capacity of 5tons (when externally slung). M777 weighs 4218 kg. So, in theory Mi17 should be able to carry it. Can it carry that at high altitude is anybody's guess (but i think probably not).

^^^ I dunno but 200kg of Uranium should weigh exactly the same as 200 kg of any thing (air, water, rdx, tnt, etc).... It is the volume that will change with density. So 200 kg of uranium will have lesser volume that say 200 kg of aluminum.
