hi marten see, we don't know about common mass, that they should appreciate or not...because LCA is a defence project worth huge as compared to amount of uneducated and below poverty line people...such programs are great contrast... I don't expect common mass to understand it..and if such reports t...

^^^ and when you look at that, would you rather go with Unkil, or with Germany, Italy, UK and Spain, with a bit of France on the side? what's going to be better in the long run? (incidentally, CASA in Spain have become quite competent over the last few decades in case anyone is wondering) Hmm.. if ...

Re: Are We Ready for a Two-front War ?
True, a multi-pronged attack through Burma-Assam, Nepal-Bihar/UP and Pak attacking north of /Punjab is a worrying scenario. The other worrying scenario is that, they may initially give the impression (through build-ups and satellite images, etc) that they may attack through Uttaranchal, Silchar, etc...

Re: MRCA News and Discussion
While we think, that we are doing the US a big favor, by giving them this 10 Billion deal, Saudis recently signed a 30 B deal for F-15's. As an OT item, BP was held liable for 20 B in damages re: the oil spill. So I am not sure, 10 B helps obtain a UN seat....but no harm in acting pompous about it....

Re: Are We Ready for a Two-front War ?
Some more questions: 1. What is the window for China to do a swift and concerted attack, in terms of time? Probably the next 2 years when a lot of up-gradations and defence purchases are still happening? What should be India's strategy in the short-medium term? 2. What counter-attack strategy from I...

Re: Indian Naval Discussion
Good points, Christopher. JMT here: 2) Dependable GPS system (read as non-us GPS). Glassnot will do for time being. But India should develop its own GPS. GAGAN? 3) We should develop SLBMs with ranges of 5000 Kms and more. This way some of our submarines can be place in Indian Ocean and still hit tar...

Chacko ji Pls correct me if I am wrong the bird also told me this is the deal on everybody's radar but we get our work done by flying under the radar. I am thinking of two possibilities, 1. Re: Indian Naval Discussion
I think we are missing something over here. China will not build a single aircraft carrier, they will build more than one. And the gap between PLAN and USN in 25 years will be nil. That is provided China is able to sustain its break neck economic growth. The main point, where India is concerned, is...

^^ Agreed. But it does open a huge door for who-ever wins this to grab a plethora of opportunities in the defense and civilian sectors.
