There's no official confirmation of that neither from the Sevmash shipy...

Re: Indian Naval Discussion
unless they know something we dont, why is the smallest of the amur family being put forward? pretty weak specs - nothing beyond a coastal patrol sub and for that why do we need AIP ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amur_class_submarine It is amur 1650 that's being offered, not 650. Not sure if it was...

Re: Newsflash: Kaveri engine successfully test flown!
^^ Changing engine on the fighter is not a simple task , they will have to go through many hours of sucessful flight testing programs and M88 and EJ200 is a proven engine with thousands of flight hours to its credit , something IAF will not feel necessary to change if they opt for one of this bird....

Was there a result to the competition that I missed or is it still in limbo?

Re: Design your own fighter
If the stated desire is to have a combat ready a/c by 2015. Why can't/shouldn't Tejas Mk2 do that? Are we so dumb that we don't see the merits of Capability Maturity Model(CMM)? Designing & manufacturing an a/c is not some monkey trick and we have realised that the hard way! Why throw away all t...

This wholesale sellout to the US will backfire very badly in the future and it will not be a happy event. As I've said many a time, when the US keeps on arming Pak,we cannot reward it with major ticket items, that too without any contest. Hercules transports are fine,as they are the best in their clas...

Re: PAK-FA and FGFA Thread
The India defence link points to $6B, and ToI is toying with $25B. BTW, why all these projections so early!!. The caution is more important here since PAKFA has 100% chance to be with pilaf perhaps with soy sauce. $6B is Indian portion of R&D cost and $20B-$25B is the additional production cost...

I believe that some poorly documented but major socio-cultural changes in that time span changed the mental outlook of Indians. What those changes were- I can only speculate. If the objective is to use the Tibetan cause to humiliate CHina, then it is a short term strategy at best. A better way would be recognize Tibet as independant. True, if the objective is humiliation then it is useless, but it can be just as much be a serious policy change, where India goes on the o...
