With this planned production rate for LCAs, the first squadron inducted in 2016 with be almost obsolete and IMO the LCA MK1 would be immediately taken for upgrades with technology and systems infusion from MK2..

If Rafale wants more share(say 50%) of the 126 order to be produced in France, India/HAL should push for full & complete production of the follow-on orders(if any planned & imho they will order atleast 60 more) which would help HAL scale up their tech know-how and also mature in the next gen...
