Re: Harrier vs Mirage V/III
Hmmm good one.
The Harrier is more suitable for dogfights than a mirage, because the delta wing doesn't goes together with manouvrability. Adding the TV engines exhuast pipes with that, the Sea Harrier should have the edge over the mirageIII. The Mirage V which has no radar, will need to escorted...

Re: MiG-21-93 firing trials
Perhaps, but you can't expect a small fighter like the mig21 suddenly turn into an Su30. It's probable not possible to fit an bigger radar into the aircraft.
Just my thoughts.
[This message has been edited by Skanhai (edited 08-09-1999).]

Re: Battle of Longewala
Just want to say this. The movie is accurate in some ways, like the name of the commanding officer: Major Kuldip Singh.
Anyway I like this movie over any US movie involving aircraft cause in those movies, aircraft seem to be able to fire the same sidewinder to ground targets serverals times.
That is the most important thing at this moment: develop and producea Indian designed aircraft. It's another step in the direction India has decided to walk: to be able to develop and produce her...

Re: Tech.Info.3/T-80UD/T-90/Arjun Mk.I
Has any large scale tank-assault been turned back only by air-power yet ?
Longewal??
I think no matter how advanced armour the T80 has, it can be panetrated by a 120mm from the T72. I'm only not sure if the T72 can fire missiles.
