First of all, if one wants to decide then all tanks are death traps on tracks (and not on wheels as you quaintly put it), more so if the tank crew is not well trained and if the adversary uses the right type of ammunition and attacks the soft spots. I do know that even recreational sky divers have to take oxygen flasks when jumping from 13K feet... but thats a civilian requirement. Maybe military world it does not apply?
