When will our guys ever learn? It was initially selecting an American partner instead of a European one that set the LCA program back at least a decade(due to sanctions after Pokaran-2). Now our guys want the Americans again as consultants. Sheeeshhhhhhhh.

A caveat first. what constitutes IOC and FOC depends on AF. simply put, IOC is the minimum level of performance at which the aircraft can operate as an usable fighting machine for the AF. FOC is the level at which all required performance parameters set by the AF are met, IOW it's the configuration...

Why cant the LCA have a dropped nose for all the variants. It will give the pilot better visibility. The pics of the LCA-N with the dropped nose make it look like one s**y babe :):):)

In India its never to late to cancel a deal :D. If a company other than a US or Russian one wins I wouldnt bet on the deal getting cancelled due to some "scandal". The Russians and the US are masters at this. :roll:

Expect another govt-govt contract with the US on this in the future. The US is quite good at muscling out competitors. They did it with the copetor deal. Dont be surprised if the copter deal goes to the US also.

There is nothing in the Pak or Chinese armoury that can touch the MKI in the A2A role and neither will there- be in the near future. Will the soyuz be mated to the GSLC-III? I doubt it. A launch vehicle has to be proven a number of times before it can be used for manned flight.
