Re: LCA News and Discussions
LCA MK1 coming in 2015 is just too late....most of the planes in LCA MK1 class are on the verge of being phased out within next 5-7 years.... which planes in the LCA Mk1 generation (generation is the right term, since even the MiG-21 and F-5 are LCA Mk1 class fighters) are on the verge of being pha...

RIL Jamnagar refinery on foreign UAV radar? I wonder, do they have any SAM cover over this plant. I think all key intsllations like this need SAM cover asap and the best kind, a couple of Pantsir launchers would do. I think we should order Pantsir asap. this thing makes sense, can fire 12 missiles ...

My paanwallah was right! :) We do a disservice to both the Mig21Bison and the LCA Tejas when we compare them. The Bison was designed to be a point defence a/c, the Tejas is a swing role plane. It is more like a Bison + Jag Darin 3 + Mig 27, with the endurance and 'hit' ability of a Mig23/29, the agi...

No harm in keeping the Jingos happy. It is all about piskological bum bar ee. They can keep changing the design till the very end easily. To me it looks more the YF23 than the F22 design philosophy, except they are not attempting the 360 degree stealth. And we do have countries showing off their 'st...

Another possible use for the Rudra, could be based on our experience in the Kargil war and also Siachen. CasEvac needs some muscle where the enemy is trying to hit you when you are trying to do it. I sure hope so. If we are building a 2300t ship, it should be have some utility other than just anti-piracy, like being a missile boat ? Just a comparison, at 2300t, it is actually heavier and lighter armed than Unkil's LCS USS Independence (all info from wiki - I may be off). Exactly my thought. T...
