Any analysis based on what american spokesperson/diplo says in matters regarding Iran or Taliban or Iraq is bound to be off reality. There are good chances of one being more right, if you twist their arguments 180 deg.

Their credibility is as good as Musharraf's.

Blimey me! In a nutshell, that is precisely what a psec/PC/DIE polity expects in so many words. Those are not my expectations but a natural outcome of the assertion that someone made that early evanjihadi efforts were good for India as they increased diversity. I personally don't want the bab...

People are finding it hard to define Hindusim as a religion because it is not a religion . Religion is a shallow concept ...

Individual rights are relevant here precisely because the genesis of this particular discussion pertained to Evangelization, and the right to practice and "propagate" one's religion. The contention is that this right to "propagate" one's religion is a concept that doesn't exist ...

Well, there is a pretty decent approximation to individual rights in the Indian Constitution as it stands today, as well as in the US constitution. Neither of these are perfect, but they are pretty decent approximations. More to the point, if a law is passed that takes away some fundamental rights,...

My issue is individual rights - frankly with no distinction made on the basis of religion, income, color and so on. Characterizing my issue in religious terms is creating a straw man. Then why don't you create a separate thread to discuss that topic. I am sure that causes less confusion and many he...

He seems to get riled up when he sees words Dharma and tolerance in the same context/sentence. He does so by bringing in individua...

for the record, I have no problem if every Indian lost those concepts that you cherish ... I see nothing wrong with holding on to Vedanta, while trashing Hanuman etc ... it is a free market of ideas ... if Jesus beats Ganesha, so be it ... those are mere symbols, IMO ... but if clueless "faith...

Why is it convinient to assume a man and a woman walked on earth and not 50,000's of them? I mean what's the logic? Did you really put Bible aside in this example? :) If two can be dropped from someplace why not 50,000? Absolutely I put the Bible aside, because no where in the creation story does i...
