If the succession plan is legal why don't you announce it? Why conduct the farce of a Selection Board when you have already decided the winner? Actually there could be no legal basis for such a plan. If you select one and announce him, you take hell of risk. Besides Constitution does not permit such a plan. Sure, I'll accept it. I am looking for something to convince myself, not what might be suitable for a court of law.

I believe AG mentioned a plan of succession. That it was for a nefarious reason is what is still conjectural.
