Recoil. Big cannons produce large recoil. If you want to carry high rate of fire gattling type 30mm cannon then you need to reinforce the airframe to withstand recoil forces and then LCA would loose its L.

Just a tidbit of info. There is something called nitrogen gas filling facility available at gas depots. Nitrogen in tyre instead of just air is better for cars, or heard so. In Delhi, the low floor buses have created nuisance on roads. Erratic driving and cutting lanes has become the norm for these buses. Earlier the DTC buses lacked power steering which made them a lot predictable but now the contracted drivers drive the huge buses as if they are driving a car.

As far as I remember leh flights don't compromise on seats, my flight was full upto the brim. Flights arriving at Leh are normal flights but flights departing from Leh don't accept check-in baggage handbag (oops :P ), they cite security reasons not sure if hot and high performance is the criteria. After reading through the interim report #3 of AF 447 crash investigation and the comments by BR members, I am of the opinion that we all have missed a very important point i.e. Why the PF kept on giving nose up commands when the aircraft was giving all sorts of indirect signs that they are stalled....

some data points. Minuteman3 has a 4th stage motor, that presumably stretches its max range. very low thrust liquid engine but as it only needs to push the MIRV section at light gravity, it does the job. this is likely the HAM (high alt motor) that Arun_S used to talk of. I think I have seen that movie and if it is what i think it is then it was a reasonable movie. Doesn't looks like a missile to me, If we take that man standing on the scaffolding to be ~5+ feet or ~2 meters, the dia of the thing comes close to 3.5-4 meters which is beyond the dia of AV/K-4.
