Re: T-72s in Chechnya, From Armour Magazine
nitin, I still don't understand why the IA would be interested in a 120mm ammo when their guns are 125mm? Am I missing something obvious?

Then the question is why would the Indian Army care about 120mm ammo when their current and future MBTs have 125mm guns?

Re: India test-fires indigenous missile [ DHANUSH ]
IMO, Dhanush is more of a tech test bed for the future SLBM. It is utterly useless to create a Ship/Sub LBM that is less than 1000km unless of course the IN is happy playing a tactical role. If the IN wants to play a strategic role i.e. nuclear deterence then it must have a strategic missle.

Re: TSP: Al-Khalid MBT rolls out
Let's not forget that the IA still has numbers. A lot of people flog the line that TSP is better at armor because they can crank out more Al-Khalids than we can Arjun-MBTs but there is a flip side: While the T-72 may not be as apt as the Al-Khalid the IA has 1100+ T-72s in various states of upgradat...

I agree with Rudra, India's advantages of numbers and depth come into play in a long drawn war of 2-4 months. While TSP's strength is in quick blows where they choose the time and place.<P>I guess the an analogy that comes to mind is that TSP is a motor-bike and India is a steam roller. A mo-bike ca...

in the su33 vs mig29 vs LCA debate one has to remember the size of the future IN carriers. they will most likely be in the neighborhood of 40,000 tons and most likely not be able to carry anything bigger than a mig-29 or LCA. the ADS size more than anything else will determine the plane we use now a...

multiple targets can also mean that the warhead (conventional) is a proximity fragmentation warhead. if there are multiple targets within the blast radius, then it would be engaging and killing multiple targets. that's my logic anyways but its been proven that DRDO works on a completely different lo...
