Re: Anticipating & countering future military threats/challe
I am not sure if this is the right thread for this , but to counter an amoured counter attack of pakistan mainly in punjab and rajasthan borders, we can have squads of high mobility hit and run troops with motorcross bikes like KX 500. these bikes can do around 70 mph in dirt tracks. Guerrilla style...

I wonder why is indian media... especially print media so hell bent on discrediting the LCA. Is it really the cost overruns ... Re: PAK-FA and FGFA Thread
That you/one is concerned is fine. No issues. However, to take only a few data points and then extrapolate does not make any sense. Just BTW, India is not trying to build a F-22. The effort is to build a simple AMCA. Why would anyone compare an AMCA to an F-22 or a J-20 or JSF, frankly, is beyond m...

Re: PAK-FA and FGFA Thread
rao ,
I guess it's just me... I am irritated by the development speed of AMCA... especially after LCA experience, i thought we won't commit the same mistakes. F22's program cost was around 18.6 Billion dollars in 2002. That makes me wonder if 2 billion will even get amca started.

Re: PAK-FA and FGFA Thread
Dear members, I often wonder about the need for two stealth a/c's, is it really necessary for India. FGFA by general estimates will be ready for induction around 2018-20 timeframe, with LCA mk2 becoming fully operational by the same time along with the MMRCA. Do we really need the AMCA? As FGFA is a...

Your points are good but I think IAF does not want ANOTHER Russian arms system in Mig-35 simply because we had a bad experience with Admiral Gorshkov where the Russians agreed on a contract and then reneged on it and demanded more money. Now what can we do in a situation like that? We are stuck. It...

IAF needs western tech, and in western tech gripen is the cheapest option + SAAB is offering us 100% TOT. Apart from mig, every aircraft consist of US contents. Then why not choose Gripen NG, a cheaper option(compare to Rafale & EF). Gripen+Metor would be a deadly combination(we have US engines too).Sweden can assist in faster development of LCA( AESA & other components). Not only this, collabo...

True F15E St Eagle is a long range stike a/c. Major structural difference is CFT's which cant be jettisoned which also reduces performance. The Teens are nothing but Trojans; they won’t simply fire when the need will arise, as the key will be in Unkil’s hand with the “Interoperability Clause”. This logic knocks off the Teens. The term “MRCA” has been coined in 2002-2003, so it has been going around for 7-8 years. With these many years ...
