Re: Indian Missile Technology Discussion

I dont know if the IA guy leaking the resentment has any technical brains or not but demanding an S manouver while getting a small target in a clutter environmnet at short range (~ 50km) is ridiculous as the high speed vehicle has to do many short duration divert pulses to get to the target to avoi...

Mi 26, The scenario reflects ability of this helicopter.

I think we need more Mi 26 then we have currently, may be a couple of squadrons.

Great going Vivek

Too bad. Personally I think it is a brilliant name.
It is a good name, but reflects soft attitude of we Indians. Name should be such which when uttered feels the heart of enemy with fear.

Re: Indian Missile Technology Discussion

Read somewhere (on BR itself - I think it was rakall or k prasad) that Brahmos range is restricted to 290kms only via software. Actual max range is substantially higher. So the day the GoI decides to give the MTCR the one finger salute, the Brahmos will be hitting targets much deeper in Puke territo...

Re: Armoured Vehicles Discussion Thread

Only comparative trials between Arjun and IA preferred tanks can silence all the question about quality of tank. With respect to delay, it is agreed that there was delay. But we also need to understand the time when project was undertaken. What was the industrial base of the country? What were techn...

Re: Possible Indian Military Scenarios - XII

nitin, you are right, of course... but it is shankar's scenario. let him set it the way he wants to. he has every right to make it as realistic (or not) as he wants. he shouldn't NEED to explain anything to us. he is giving us an awesome read, for FREE. let us be grateful, not critical... I agree.....

Re: Possible Indian Military Scenarios - XII

I was just waiting for the glass half empty types to pipe up with complaints of "lack of realism". I'm just surprised it took this long! I think Sudanshu is right to remind us of the previous nonsense and I agree with Chandragupta that nothing so far in the scenario makes it a given that ...

Nitin Bhai, The risk that the IAF took was so huge that even Sukhoi people had doubts at some point in time. (Which is why I would love to see the same team from India work on the FGFA - the point being the probability of success would be very high.) No one was shooting, etc. No one even said that. ...

Re: Su-30: News and Discussion

To some extent it was a fluke. The political angle you provided had no clue as to what the technical difficulties were. I doubt if any politician cared - only because no one had a clue. IF at all, it was only someone dreaming within the Indian technical group - that too it was a dream (to build out...

No loss at Indian side. Isnt it making the scenario like Hindi Movies where our Heros live even when hit with many bullets and bombs?

I am not a guru, however, i believe u need a ideal mix of both MBT in addition to medium and light tanks and along with Artillery.

We cannot be baised towards any of them against other.
