and we purchased missiles with a much lessor range for 2+mil from France.

If we can sell this product properly with integration etc. we can make huge money. In fact, this will be a much bigger attraction towards LCA for other nations.

SSKs are suppose to be good in shallow waters. Entire West side sea of Bharat are shallow AFAIK. So that may be one of the reasons. But I agree with you in respect of the larger point you are making, other than the cost SSKs now does not make any sense.

The systematic way DF destroyed the Fox and Penguin is not fully appreciated. The net result is a fundamental change in INC and NCP's political power base and economic roots. SS lost most of its appeal as it failed to change with the times and is a declining entity in the long to medium term.

While I agree that our economy is fairly insulated from monsoons, it will affect voting choices. A hardship must be blamed on someone; normally, the ruling party gets the blame, particularly if it does not care for rural poor and marginal farmers.
