The remaining candidates are clinton, sanders, rubio, cruz, and trump. That is a horrible prospect for the next president. It doesnt matter who wins.

loose-loose for world.
However Trump will concentrate on Border security, national security, cut overseas deployment, economy and jobs.
Billary will do what WS and Arabs tell her.

Obama quietly reverses Hillary’s ‘get Modi’ policy
"Hillary Clinton likes to operate through NGOs, which are given funding through indirect channels, and which target individuals and countries seen as less than respectful to her views on foreign and domestic policy in the target countries," a retired US official now based in Atlanta said. He claimed that "rather than US NGOs, (the former) Secretary of State Clinton favoured operating through organisations based in the Netherlands, Denmark and the Scandinavian countries, especially Norway" as these were outside the radar of big power politics. These NGOs were active in the agitation against the Russian nuclear power plant at Kudankulam in Tamil Nadu, with "funding coming mainly from a religious organisation based in Europe that has close links with France".
Incidentally, French companies are in direct competition with Russian rivals in seeking to expand the market for nuclear reactors in India. The senior official, now on a visit to India, claimed that "your (i.e. the Manmohan Singh) government has full details of the religious organisation involved in funding the Kudankulam protests, but is keeping this secret as the organisation has high-level backers" in the UPA.
These present and retired officials claimed that "during the tenure in office of Secretary Clinton, several expert teams in the guise of NGOs were sent to Gujarat to try and find mass graves". The purpose was to then take the matter to the Office of the UN Commissioner of Human Rights in Geneva as an example of genocide. "In 2011, some bones were discovered in a Gujarat field by one of the search teams and there was much excitement, but these were later found to be buffalo bones", an official said. The official added that "no evidence whatsoever of mass graves was uncovered in Gujarat despite six years of clandestine searching for them" by undercover experts posing as representatives of NGOs. He added that "five politicians, three from the state and two in Delhi, assisted the search teams, but the information given by them proved unproductive".

Popular vote does not matter in USA. If popular vote was to count then only California, New York and Texas need to vote. Rest of the 47 states can just sit back and accept the verdict.by NRao

Gagan, that story is from 2014.
Scandinavia has long been a shadow arm of US action, through compromised diplomats and infiltrated and paid NGOs. There are good people in the area (Biglund/Smalgand). But the governments and world-facing bureaucracies are quietly venal.

Trump will seriously cut the H1-B program affecting the bottom line of companies like TCS. There will also be regressive laws passed against non-white immigrants. Think of Nuremberg laws passed in 1935.ramana wrote:loose-loose for world.

only an optimist will see distinctions, trump is in the lalu yadav mould and the amrikan economy or services are no rail ministry to be selling yoghurt out of earthenware.
i am a pessimist by training and experience. you could say i have a phd in pessimism -- things can only get worse.
JEM, look deeper. hillary vs trump is a clinton presidency simply due to women and hispanic vote.
Re: Understanding the US-2
I am not a US citizen. But if I am I will vote for Trump or Sanders. Never to Hillary. In fact, Democrats of today ( Just like Republicans) are fully compromised party had she is the best example of that. I see non-establishment candidates winning elections in near future. Tea party is just an indication of the things to come and we may see a democratic section of tea party soon. We may even say that Sanders is the first in that movement.
Re: Understanding the US-2
many laugh at Trump and his way of saying "politically incorrect" things.
In that respect he is a political rookie. he has his way. But cannot be dumb for the simple fact he is a successful businessman.
There is a saying in sanskrit and many other Indian languages- meaning is something like -- richness and stupidity part away soon.

Re: Understanding the US-2
I think I like Trump & Sanders. Both represent non-Establishment of US, so there may be some changes if they get elected. I am particularly starting to like Trump.

Shreeman, I am neither an optimist nor a pessimist.
You need to study more the US system.
They need Trump before the demographic change overcomes them.
Billary time was 2008 which Obama took away.

One begins to wonder why the rebuplican establishment did not similarly panic 8, 4 years ago when tea was being partied.
Trump could likely convert all of scottland as a bunker for his future golf course and the queen would still purr over the phone IF he were to be prejident.
However, the enema of the enemy of my enemy is .... how does that go? Clinton will win against trump. trump will get many more tv shows and a seat on the FoX board. Everybody wins, the first woman to be prejident of a democrasee (which indiya is not one of). History making election.

i doubt too many women will vote for hillary just because she is a woman.
those days of "all girls band/rally team gentlemen, a special round of applause please" are fading out even in india.
as for the latinos what has she ever done for them?
trump wont be a pushover for hillary imo if he gets the ticket. the old guard repubs might hate trump but they probably hate hillary even more.

Re: Understanding the US-2
singha,
voting is the favorite passtime of the aged and the retired. The youth are not that much into it. By default -- GoP never gets back or latino votes -- hillary starts with a huge lead. The conservatives, euphemism for the bible beating whites, many will stay home rather than vote for trump. Trump can only go down. If he takes GoP with him, best for everybody.
The women of america know, another woman is not getting nominated anytime soon. If hillary gets the nomination, they will vote for her in the end. In this sense, america is not like india, if india is indeed changing away from this.
As for what she has done for anybody -- what had obama done? the GoP is hostile towards latinos and trump "mexico will pay and build a wall at the border" is the sharp tip. Latinos would rather stay home than vote for GoP, rubio or cruz included. GoP hoped to capitalize on names like rubio or cruz to win some latino votes. Wont work.

11 american nations
https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/go ... andom_1_na
Yankeedom: Founded by Puritans, residents in Northeastern states and the industrial Midwest tend to be more comfortable with government regulation. They value education and the common good more than other regions.
New Netherland: The Netherlands was the most sophisticated society in the Western world when New York was founded, Woodard writes, so it’s no wonder that the region has been a hub of global commerce. It’s also the region most accepting of historically persecuted populations.
The Midlands: Stretching from Quaker territory west through Iowa and into more populated areas of the Midwest, the Midlands are “pluralistic and organized around the middle class.” Government intrusion is unwelcome, and ethnic and ideological purity isn’t a priority.
Tidewater: The coastal regions in the English colonies of Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland and Delaware tend to respect authority and value tradition. Once the most powerful American nation, it began to decline during Westward expansion.
Greater Appalachia: Extending from West Virginia through the Great Smoky Mountains and into Northwest Texas, the descendants of Irish, English and Scottish settlers value individual liberty. Residents are “intensely suspicious of lowland aristocrats and Yankee social engineers.”
Deep South: Dixie still traces its roots to the caste system established by masters who tried to duplicate West Indies-style slave society, Woodard writes. The Old South values states’ rights and local control and fights the expansion of federal powers.
El Norte: Southwest Texas and the border region is the oldest, and most linguistically different, nation in the Americas. Hard work and self-sufficiency are prized values.
The Left Coast: A hybrid, Woodard says, of Appalachian independence and Yankee utopianism loosely defined by the Pacific Ocean on one side and coastal mountain ranges like the Cascades and the Sierra Nevadas on the other. The independence and innovation required of early explorers continues to manifest in places like Silicon Valley and the tech companies around Seattle.
The Far West: The Great Plains and the Mountain West were built by industry, made necessary by harsh, sometimes inhospitable climates. Far Westerners are intensely libertarian and deeply distrustful of big institutions, whether they are railroads and monopolies or the federal government.
New France: Former French colonies in and around New Orleans and Quebec tend toward consensus and egalitarian, “among the most liberal on the continent, with unusually tolerant attitudes toward gays and people of all races and a ready acceptance of government involvement in the economy,” Woodard writes.
First Nation: The few First Nation peoples left — Native Americans who never gave up their land to white settlers — are mainly in the harshly Arctic north of Canada and Alaska. They have sovereignty over their lands, but their population is only around 300,000.
The clashes between the 11 nations play out in every way, from politics to social values. Woodard notes that states with the highest rates of violent deaths are in the Deep South, Tidewater and Greater Appalachia, regions that value independence and self-sufficiency. States with lower rates of violent deaths are in Yankeedom, New Netherland and the Midlands, where government intervention is viewed with less skepticism.

It would take hell to freeze over after tuesday for it not to be hillary vs one-of-three-but-likely-trump from gop.
millenials fall for that break the glass barrier women rights stuff. having the genitals doesnt really make you a womans rights champion.
as it is, while the male portion of the society secretly wishes trump wins, president billary it is likely to be. for the next 8.
either way, its the classic turd sandwich vs giant douche election. and the house and senate races are getting no focus at all due to this strange race.
who would have thunk things could get this low? and yet the floor keeps sinking.

Shreeman ji, this forum is littered with your predictions.
Every single one of them has turned out to be incorrect.
the people who are making most noise about Trump are those in media. If you buy their spiel, then everything is wrong with Trump and his campaign and his defeat is round the corner. Who are these media people ?

Habal,
Most of my posts are indeed illogical at best, and will only get wetter with senility.
I am sure a few have gone the other way, but littered/every single? Can you recount a few, just to refresh my memory. the every single one is contradicted by the "oyel to moyel" that should be searchable in the post history.
One likes to keep track. many thanks.

Nixon's "southern strategy" upended the pre-existing pattern of American politics that had been in place since Andrew Jackson.
Nixon was a transformational President in American history. "Jacksonian Democracy", "Jackson Democrats".....those terms faded away after Nixon's presidency.
Re: Understanding the US-2
If Hillary gets nomination >>> one demographic group where Democrats historically have an advantage -- people under age 30 -- will simply sit home and watch election night with popcorn and drinks.
Hillary's chance was in 2008. Obama took it away. she is unlikely to win if Trump gets Rep nomination. he will sweep the white vote (even women). and he probably will have a slight edge among Hispanics (this vote bank is more complicated than people think). Blacks will be the only group which Hillary will undoubtedly sweep with huge margin. Hillary's fate really lies with the Black vote. her entire margin of victory in Nevada came from Blacks. Sanders won't the white and hispanic vote.
