Saudi Arabia bans 50 ‘blasphemous’ baby names — like Benjamin
Saudi Arabia religious authorities have banned 50 names for babies born in the kingdom, calling them blasphemous, inappropriate and a contradiction to the culture.Making the list: Benjamin, the first name of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, and anything that reeks of royalty, like Amir, Malek and Malika, which translate into Arabic as — in order — prince, king and queen. Also banned were names popular in the West, like Linda, Alice, Sandy and Lauren. On the list, too: Malask, which translates to angel, Taline, Randa, Nardeen, Nabi, Abdul Naser, Abdul Musieh, Iman, Bassel, Yara, Naris and Barrah, The Blaze reported. The interior ministry “justified the ban by saying that the names either contradicted the culture or religion of the kingdom, or were foreign, or inappropriate,” Gulf News reported, citing Saudi newspapers. “The names fit into at least three categories — those that offend perceived religious sensibilities, those that are affiliated to royalty and those that are of non-Arabic or non-Islamic origin.”Some, like Benjamin, didn’t meet any of those standards.“A number of other names appear that do not necessarily fit into any category, and it is therefore unclear as to why they would have been banned,” the Gulf News report said, The Blaze cited.Other countries ban parents from naming their babies certain names, too — though not perhaps so frequently. Germany doesn’t let parents name their children Hitler, and recently a judge in Tennessee ordered parents of a baby they named Messiah to change it to Martin, The Blaze said.

First Paki diplomat Akbar Zeb gets the boot because of his name (it means "Great D1ck" in local slang :D ) and now this. I wonder if citizens/foreigners already sporting these names traveling to Saudi Barbaria will face action - or have to jump through hoops to prove they had these names BEFORE this decree?

This particular Mohartama seems to done a burka / purdah in a damage limitation mode. Photograph has vanished into thin air on facebook page as has the Mohammadden supremacist comment. Meanwhile interesting to see that education even among the crusaders at a top notch institute like Carnegie Mellon is not enough to bury Mohammadden supremacist fantasies of turning kaafir Hindu’s into Dhimmi’s even in Dharmic lands:

Islamist Group Calls for Hollande Assassination - Japan Times
Washington, USA – A jihadist group repeated its calls for French President Francois Hollande’s assassination in revenge for the European nation’s recent interventions in Africa, terrorist monitoring group SITE said Sunday.

The al-Minbar Jihadi Media Network, a militant Islamist web site with ties to al-Qaida, says it wants Muslims to stage attacks in France and on French interests elsewhere in support of Muslims in Central African Republic and Mali.

France sent in troops to Mali in January last year to drive out Islamist militants and Tuareg rebels who had taken control of the desert north.

France has also sent around 2,000 troops to the Central African Republic in support of a 6,000-strong African Union peacekeeping mission following a wave of Muslim-Christian bloodletting in the aftermath of a coup.

The attraction of Mohammadden Terrorism for youthful adherents of Mohammaddenism is apparently not mitigated by education. Those in India proposing reservation for Mohammaddens in tertiary level educational establishments should make note of the below Indian Express article that suggests that education does not squelch the mindset of perpetrating terrorism targeting Non-Mohammaddens among adherents of Mohammaddenism:

Budding engineers who ‘strayed into IM’s jihad’

This phenomena of Mohammadden Terrorists being educated and particularly from the engineering stream is not limited to India. See the below paper titled “Engineers of Jihad” by Diego Gambetta and Steffen Hertog :

Islamism & Islamophobia Abroad - News & Analysis

Myanmar says ‘Rohingya’ term banned from census

SITTWE : Myanmar said on Saturday that Muslims would not be allowed to register as “Rohingya” in its first census in three decades despite UN assurances, on the eve of a survey that has fanned sectarian tensions.

The move came as Buddhists in an unrest-hit western state vowed to boycott the census over fears it
could lead to official recognition for the Rohingya, viewed by the United Nations as among the world’s most persecuted minorities.

“If a household wants to identify themselves as ‘Rohingya’, we will not register it,” government spokesman Ye Htut told reporters in Yangon.

He said people could call themselves “Bengali”, a term used by the authorities who view most Rohingya as illegal immigrants from neighbouring Bangladesh.

Foreign aid workers fled the restive western state of Rakhine this week after Buddhist mobs attacked their offices as tensions escalated in the run up to the census.

An 11-year-old girl was killed by a stray bullet after police fired warning shots to disperse angry crowds in the state capital Sittwe.

Humanitarian workers in the region have come under increasing pressure from Buddhist nationalists who accuse them of bias in favour of local Muslims.

The United Nations is pulling some 50 international and Myanmar staff from the region, while other major humanitarian groups are also removing their workers temporarily.

Households across Sittwe were seen Saturday bearing signs declaring : “This house is protesting against the census. Do not register”.

Myanmar’s first census since 1983, which is set to begin on Sunday and last for 12 days, is backed by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and is aimed at plugging an information deficit in the former junta-run country.

The population tally has come under fire for its inclusion of ethnic and religious questions, which critics say will further fan the flames of unrest and threaten fragile peace talks with minority rebel groups.

Buddhist nationalists have reacted with fury to the fact that the questionnaire includes a section for people to self-identify their ethnicity, theoretically allowing the Rohingya to be registered as such and raising fears it could lead to political rights for the group.

But government officials in the state have sought to assure them that the term will not be counted, according to local MP Aung Mya Kyaw.

“They will only write down ‘Bengali’ because Rohingya doesn’t exist,” he told AFP.

Long-standing animosity between Buddhists and Muslims in Rakhine erupted into bloodshed in 2012, leaving dozens dead in clashes and around 140,000 people displaced.

Muslims in remote parts of Rakhine have reported that the authorities have threatened local people with harsh penalties if they try to identify as Rohingya.

The Rohingya are subject to a web of restrictions on travel, work and even marriage.

Is it possible that the ethnic cleansing that the Turks have experienced at the hands o the Russians has so traumatized them that they have exited the whole business of becoming Islam's Thekedar like the Pakis are trying to become.
The Ottomans and Russians fought at least 17 wars between 1568 and 1917. The Ottomans lost vast and often heavily Muslim territories spanning from the Crimea to Circassia to the Russians. The Russians killed many inhabitants of these Ottoman lands and expelled the rest to Turkey. So many Turks descend from refugees from Russia that the adage in Turkey is: "If you scratch a Turk, you find a Circassian persecuted by Russians underneath." [6]

The Russians have rendered a service to the whole of Mankind and all of us should be grateful to them. Now someone should step up to the plate and do the same to the Arab threat.

Bright ideas from Londonistan:

Boris Johnson: Muslim children being ‘taught crazy stuff’ at home should be taken into care
London mayor says ‘radicalisation’ must be classed as a form of child abuse
Muslim children who are at risk of being “radicalised” by their parents should be taken into care, according to the London mayor Boris Johnson.

Defining young people being “taught crazy stuff” at home as effectively child abuse, Mr Johnson said the efforts of counter-terrorism officers and social care workers were being hampered by “what I am obliged to call political correctness”.

He said the law needed to be changed so that children who are “ being turned into potential killers or suicide bombers” can be taken away from their parents, “for their own safety and for the safety of the public”.

And referring to the recent sentencing of the two Muslim fanatics who killed Fusilier Lee Rigby, the Mayor said it was time to abandon a “fatal squeamishness” preventing Government intervention in certain social, religious and cultural groups.

Mr Johnson wrote: “The most important question [after the murder of Lee Rigby] is how we prevent other young men, and women, from succumbing to that awful virus: the contagion of radical Islamic extremism.

“At present, there is a reluctance by the social services to intervene, even when they and the police have clear evidence of what is going on, because it is not clear that the ‘ safeguarding law’ would support such action.

“This is absurd. The law should obviously treat radicalisation as a form of child abuse.

“It is the strong view of many of those involved in counter-terrorism that there should be a clearer legal position, so that those children who are being turned into potential killers or suicide bombers can be removed into care – for their own safety and for the safety of the public.

“Paedophilia, FGM, Islamic radicalisation – to some extent, at some stage, we have tiptoed round them all for fear of offending this or that minority. It is children who have suffered.”

Ireland: Judge asks for 'forgiveness' and apologises for ‘incorrect’ Muslim remark
A district court judge has apologised for his ‘unfortunate and incorrect remark’ in court when he said that ‘Muslims think they can actually beat their wives’.

Migrant groups urged the Judge Anthony Halpin to withdraw his comment after he made the remark in Tallaght District Court on Thursday.

Judge Halpin has said that he ‘had no intention of referring to, or offending Muslims or their religion’ and apologised for the hurt caused and asked for their ‘forgiveness’.

In a statement issued today, he said; “I would like to state that nothing could be further from the truth.”

“ I accept that I made the remark, but what I intended to say, and should have said, was that people who beat their partners do not appreciate the provisions of safety or protection orders, and they need intervention and education in that regard.”

The Immigrant Council of Ireland had called on the Judge to withdraw the remark.

“While we have not seen the court record the remarks as reported to us are disappointing, wrong and offensive.

“People in positions of authority in the community have a particular duty not to feed racism or xenophobia, this applies to politicians, local media commentators and members of the judiciary. The remarks should either be withdrawn or clarified as a matter of urgency,” a spokesperson said.

Junior Minister Joe Costello said the judge should clarify the remark.

“It certainly was a gratuitous statement and on the surface it sounds insulting and gratuitous and he should immediately clarify the remarks,” Mr Costello told the Herald.

Dr Taufiq Al Sattar said the comments were in contradiction to all religious teachings.

“No religion says you should hurt anybody and no religion says you should harm anybody. We all have to be tolerant. We all have to compromise.

“No religion says you hurt anybody, not your wife or your neighbour or anyone. This is common sense,” the cleric, who established a prayer centre in west Dublin, said.

Judge Halpin, who started sitting in the Tallaght court in September 2011, made the comments in relation to Muslims during the case of Khadar Younis (46),of Belfry Hall in Citywest, Dublin, who had denied breaking into his divorced wife's home while she was asleep in bed. He also pleaded not guilty to breaking a protection order and being in the possession of a knife while in the house.

Islamism steps into the Ukrainian imbroglio with a warcry of victimhood:

Ukraine crisis: Muslim Tatars are under threat from ethnic violence under new separatist administration in Crimea
For one who is likely to be among the first to be taken away at gunpoint if the new men in power here have their way, Fazil Amazayev, was being remarkably calm. Such actions, he insisted “will unite all the Muslims here; they will make enemies of us all”.

Mr Amazayev is a senior member of Hizb ut-Tahrir, the Islamic political organisation which is legal in Ukraine. However, among the first pronouncements made by the new separatist Prime Minister of Crimea and the security chief he has appointed is that it is a “ dangerous terrorist organisation” which will have to be dealt with.

Hizb ut-Tahrir has been blamed in many countries for promoting radicalism; but violent militancy caused by it is hard to find in Ukraine. And the fear of becoming sectarian targets is not just confined to activists among the Tatars: many in the community are staying away from city centres where Russian-speaking vigilantes hold sway, and some are leaving for other parts of the country.

Mr Amazayev says he is confident that the Tatars of Crimea will not let him and others from his group be picked off by the new head of security, Petr Zima, who was promoted from his previous post in Sevastopol, the home of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet. “Zima built up a reputation in Sevastopol for carrying out raids, accusing people of being involved in extremism. But, if he starts doing that now, he will make a big mistake. The people in the [Tatar] establishment, the Mufti and the Mejlis [representative council] criticised us in the past, but now we are all facing the common enemy. And, if they do start persecuting us, we know how to survive, we have done it in Syria, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia.”

Islamophobes kill radical Muslim leader in Kenya:

Radical Muslim leader shot dead in Kenya
NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) — A radical Islamic leader who had been sanctioned by the United States and the United Nations for supporting an al-Qaida-linked Somali militant group was assassinated late Tuesday, his lawyer and officials said.

The killing by unknown gunmen came as the Kenyan government announced it had begun an operation to stop a wave of attacks in the country as authorities arrested more than 650 people in Nairobi following a bomb attack Monday.

Attorney Mbugua Mureithi said Abubakar Shariff Ahmed was shot dead along with another unidentified man near the Shimo la Tewa prison in the coastal town of Mombasa. The killings threaten to spark retaliatory violence.

...Mohammed had been sanctioned by the U.S. and U.N. for allegedly supporting al-Shabab, which has vowed to carry out terrorist attacks on Kenyan soil to avenge Kenya's sending of troops to Somalia.
Mureithi said Ahmed's last interview with a local TV station in which he appeared to justify the killings of civilians during the September terrorist attack on an upscale mall in Nairobi may have contributed to his death.

Riots broke out in Mombasa after Mohammed was killed in August 2012 and after Sheik Ibrahim Ismael was killed in October. Ahmed was charged with inciting violence.

Kenya is still on edge following the September attack on Nairobi's Westgate Mall that killed at least 67 people. Since then al-Shabab sympathizers have been blamed for an explosion at Nairobi's main airport, a grenade attack on tourists on Kenya's coast, a blast on a bus in Nairobi, and three blasts Monday night in the capital that killed six people.
The disappearances and executions of Muslim youth suspected of having links to terror are angering the Kenyan Muslim community, Kahumbura said. Many Muslims feel they are being profiled by police, he said.

Let's Go Forward, Not Backward, on the Issue of Homosexuality in Islam
A U.K. based leader has opined, "The Islamic position is that we don't label people by their sexuality ... we don't recognize the term gay ... you should not be saying I must come out of the closet ..." Dr. Naseem has asserted, "A compulsive murderer, gambler, pedophile etc. could present the same logic and ask for accommodation by the society."

Kutty alludes to the prohibitions against "bestiality, anal intercourse (liwaat), masturbation, necrophilia ..." Based on the maqasid (higher objectives) of the Sharia, he argues that "homosexuality" is "unanimously" prohibited as it "threatens" the family institution. However, he qualifies his opinions by asserting that Muslims could support same-sex marriages given the 14th century juristic opinion on tolerating Zoroastrian incest marriages.
The 11th century jurist Ibn Hazm went so far as to assert, "Love is neither disapproved by Religion, nor prohibited by the Law..." He openly stated of his friend, "... beauty itself was created in his likeness, or fashioned out of the sighs of those who looked upon him: I have never seen his equal in beauty, comeliness, physique ..." It is also noted that the 7th century scholar Al Kisai Al Kufi, who provided one of the seven canonical ways of reading the Qur'an, openly confessed to engaging in same-sex relations.

France in new tack to fight roots of terrorism
To stop the stream of French youths pursuing jihad in Syria, France is preparing to try to tackle terrorism before it starts, by involving schools, parents and local Muslim leaders, The Associated Press has learned.

This is part of a still-confidential plan prompted by fears that young radicals who travel to Syria could return home with the skills and motivation to carry out attacks — a Europe-wide concern. French officials say the plan will be made public soon.

The fears resurfaced last week when authorities revealed the discovery near Cannes of three soda cans packed with nails, bolts and explosives plus bomb-making instructions at the apartment of a 23-year-old man who had returned from Syria. Memories are still fresh of a radical Muslim Frenchman who gunned down children at a Toulouse Jewish school in 2012, after training in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
---------------------

This is what happens when a rejection of falsehood is not followed by embracing a more holistic truth that subsumes it:

The Apostate
A young Muslim leaves Pakistan for Britain, discovers the wonders of science and rejects his faith. On September 11, he posts a final picture on Facebook and takes his own life
This is a story about Islam, alienation and violent death — but it’s not one you’ll have read before. It is not about radicalisation, jihad and martyrdom. This is the story of an ex-Muslim. A young man who, as a teenager, moves from Pakistan to Britain, learns about the wonders of science and embraces a militant form of atheism. Who rejects God and religion, spirals into depression, and in an act of despair and disconsolation, takes his own life on a date that will resonate with everyone: September 11. This is Irtaza Hussain’s story. But it’s also the story of other men and women just like him, who, as a matter of principle and conscience, choose to abandon Islam and religious belief, becoming “apostates” to the faith.

A total of 34 percent of all men from Lebanon, or a total of 2021, were convicted of a crime in 2012….The same goes for 31 percent of all Moroccan men…27 percent of all men from former Yugoslavia, and 26 percent of Iraqi, Iranian and Afghan men.

Seven idols were burnt as criminals set a Hindu temple ablaze at Adhuna village in Gournadi upazila of the district early yesterday.

After worshipping, the priest left the tin-shed Durga-Kali temple at 10:30pm on Monday, said Satindranath Chakraborty, president of Senerhut Durga-Kali Mandir management committee.

In the morning, the worshippers found the burnt idols of Durga, Sarswati, Laxmi, Kartik, Ganesh, Ashur and Kali and informed the police.

A gang set the temple to fire by pouring petrol at midnight, said Satindranath Chakraborty.
A case was filed in connection with the incident, said Abul Kalam, officer in-charge of Gournadi police station.

Islamists seek laughter, crying ban, China official says

BEIJING : The governor of China's restive far western region of Xinjiang wrote on Monday that
Islamist militants were trying to ban laughter at weddings and crying at funerals, as he appealed to people to stamp out the "tumour" of extremism.

Xinjiang, resource-rich and strategically located on the borders of central Asia, has been beset by violence for years, blamed by the government on Islamist militants and separatists.

Exiles and many rights groups say the real cause of the unrest is China's heavy-handed policies, including curbs on Islam and the culture and language of the Muslim Uighur people who call Xinjiang home.

China's nervousness about Islamist extremism has grown since a car burst into flames on the edge of Beijing's Tiananmen Square in October, and 29 people were stabbed to death last month in the south-western city of Kunming.

Beijing blamed Xinjiang militants for both.

Writing in the official Xinjiang Daily, Xinjiang governor Nur Bekri said that acts of terror had been made possible by extremists taking advantage of people's faith, especially "young people who have seen little of the world".

"In order to incite fanaticism and control believers, religious extremists have blatantly distorted religious teachings, making up heresy such as 'jihadist martyrs go to heaven,' 'killing a pagan is worth over 10 years of piety,' and 'one gets whatever one wants in heaven'," he wrote.

"They use this to bewilder believers into what they believe is 'jihad' in the form of suicide terrorist attacks or other violence," Bekri added. People who do not follow the strictures of the Islamists are condemned by them as "traitors" and "scum", he said.

China's ruling atheist Communist Party has issued similar warnings in the past about extremism, accompanied by a harsh crackdown on suspected militants.

Uighurs have traditionally followed a moderate form of Islam, but many have begun adopting practices more commonly seen in Saudi Arabia or Pakistan, such as full-face veils for women, as China has intensified a security crackdown in recent years.

Bekri, an Uighur himself, accused the militants of ignoring the region's own traditions and of wanting to enforce a strict theocratic society.

"They ... push the banning of watching television, listen to the radio, reading newspapers, singing and dancing, not allowing laughter at weddings nor crying at funerals," he added. "They force men to grow beards and women to wear the burqa."

Extremists are also demanding that not only food, but also cosmetics, medicine and clothing be halal, and push the idea that government-subsidised housing is not halal and to be avoided, Bekri wrote.

"Resolutely eliminate the tumour of religious extremism," he added.

Iraq poised to legalize marriage for girls as young as 9
Now the Iraqi government is poised to legalize child marriage for the nation’s majority Shiite Muslim population. But the law, which some expect to pass before this month’s parliamentary elections, would do significantly more than that.

Called the Jaafari Personal Status Law, it would prohibit Muslim men from marrying non-Muslims, prevent women from leaving the house without their husband’s consent, automatically grant custody of children older than two to their father in divorce cases and legalize marital rape.

The law, which proponents say will save women’s “rights and dignity,” would also permit boys to marry as young as 15 and girls to marry as young as nine. Girls younger than nine would be permitted to marry with a parent’s approval.

In the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mohammadden Cleric sets out to cure girl by reading Mohammaddenism’s holy text the Koran / Quran, beatings and setting the child’s legs on fire:
……….. Maulvi Rasheed told Amanullah that his daughter was being “tormented by demons”. He said that he would exorcise the evil spirit for Rs1,500 fee.

Amanullah said that he left his daughter with the maulvi. He said the maulvi said he would “save her soul using his jinns and by reading from the Quran”. “Saving the soul” however meant severe beatings for Musarrat. The maulvi then poured kerosene on her feet and set them alight.

Upon hearing the child’s screams, several neighbours entered Maulvi Rasheed’s house and saw the girl’s feet on fire. ……………..

Girls over 9, no parental consent required? So a 57 year old and 9 year old can marry without girls parents permission.

Here's a typical dhimmi effort (in this case Hindu) trying to use straw-man bashing and openly comparing apples and oranges to white-wash crimes against Humanity...

Islamists abduct more than 100 girls from Nigeria school: Security official
MAIDUGURI (Nigeria): Boko Haram Islamists have kidnapped more than 100 girls from a secondary school in Nigeria's northeastern Borno state, a senior security source told AFP.

Asked to confirm media reports that 200 girls had been taken from a school in the Chibok local government area during an Islamist attack, the source, who requested anonymity, said "the number is not up to 200, but it is over 100."

"Many girls were abducted by the rampaging gunmen who stormed the school in a convoy of vehicles," said Emmanuel Sam, an education official in the town of Chibok, where the attack took place on Monday.

Boko Haram is a radical Islamist militant group whose name means "western education is forbidden".

It has repeatedly attacked schools in the northeast during an insurgency that has killed thousands since 2009.

The gunmen came "in trucks and on motorcycles and headed to the school", where they overpowered soldiers deployed to guard it, said a witness who requested anonymity.

He said soldiers had been deployed to provide extra security ahead of yearly exams, but the gunmen "subdued the soldiers and took the girls away".

He was not able to provide an estimate of the number of girls abducted. In an attack earlier this year in Borno state, witnesses said Boko Haram gunmen surrounded a girls' school, forced the students to leave and ordered them to immediately return to their villages.

Sam spoke in Borno's capital Maiduguri where he said he fled after the attack at the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok.
