My cousin was saying 3 police officers may have died in an explosion in East ham.

My cousin lives a few hundred away from the blaze in croydon He was saying that they are just stealing TVs and running off with them. Police are just standing watching.

There are reports of a seven year old looter.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... reads.html

Flashpoints multiplied around London tonight, with Battersea, Hackney, Dalston, Peckham and Lewisham added to the list which already included Enfield, Walthamstow and Tottenham. And there were fears that the chaos could spread nationwide, with Croydon to the south of the capital ablaze, and even Birmingham joining in the destruction as hundreds of youths smashed shop windows and looted the contents.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... raids.html

Young looters were accused of an opportunistic ‘Supermarket Sweep’ motivated by nothing other than greed.
Dozens were filmed as they disappeared into the night with their arms laden with plasma TVs, laptops and sports clothes.
Claims that rampant lawlessness was motivated by the death of Mark Duggan at the hands of police was quickly exposed as a lie.
Some of those involved in attacks on stores in Enfield, Tottenham and Oxford Circus were barely old enough to be arrested.

From the telegraph live link posted above:

Quote:
Residents in Croydon have been evacuated due to the spreading fire, reports Guardian's Matthew Taylor. An officer tells him: "We can't cope. We have passed breaking point."

Should police officers be saying such things in public?

Its atrocious that the state is using such brutal police power against democratic protestors merely protesting for better living conditions, better jobs, clean water and 3 square meals a day. Its nothing but a criminal crackdown on a grassroots movement. I dont think India should legitimize this regime by participating in theh 2012 Olympics which is an ostentatious display of state wealth while rampant poverty and unrest exists across the country.
In fact India needs to re evaluate the current cricket series and the security of the team. We arent doing that hot anyway.

We hear a lot from U.K about a poooor country like India must not have space technology, must not have nuclear weapons, must not have that this...
Now look at them. Having so many poor and having nuclear weapons. and trying to be a global cop sending military worldwide.
Someone who cannot control mobs in their own capital are proclaiming and behaving like world cop trying to bringing peace somewhere in the world? They must have used the money to feed their poor.
Added later: Bearded faujis, can be seen in the pics. May be utilizing the opportunity to the maximum.

Recent history shows that the Olympics ends up bankrupting host cities and countries a couple of years after its done with and the bill comes up for payment (in which, typically the costs overshoot projected revenues by a mile+).

But the 2012 London olympics has already started its merry dance even before coming to UKstan, looks like. I can only hope 1000s strong contingents arrive from Pak, somalia, rwanda, sudan and the like for the olympics which'll then disappear into the london rain even before the opening ceremony is over only ....jai ho indeed.

BTW, does anyone know if and how the brit media covered the 'stone-throwing' protests in the valley? Did they hail it as the new intifada and another golden chance to wrest cashmere from delhi's cold, hard fingers? Just curious only.

Two football matches have been postponed and questions raised over other sporting events after a third successive night of rioting in London.

Tuesday's games at Charlton and West Ham were called off on police advice.

BBC Sport understands that the Football Association will hold a routine meeting with police on Tuesday over England's friendly with the Netherlands.

It's a lose-lose situation. If they use force, people shout "police brutality, excessive force" if they don't, people say the police aren't doing anything. They cannot win.

It's easy for Al Guardian types to criticize India regarding Kashmir. Now let's see how their press covers these riots.

Is it just me or are the majority of rioters either black or brown ( probably Pakis?) ? Angela Markel was right about one thing, multiculturalism has failed in Europe and in a big way. There are rumors that the Army could get marching orders to quell rioting and bring situation under control.

Sorry, but i disagree. There are opportunists and random leftist anarchists, but be it the "october revolution" in France or the current riots Britain, the catalysts for these riots have been immigrants - esp. the muslim immigrants and african immigrants. Multiculturalism works when you can assimilate the new generation of immigrants into your social fold, but when that does not happen,it'll lead to a break down of that delicate equilibrium. If native Europeans want to survive another 100 years in their own countries then they'll have to turn the calendar back by 100 years and start taking the gloves off. Those who refuse to accept the values of their host nation should just leave or be thrown out.

The blacks are pretty much assimilated. Are you saying they haven't accepted the british customs??

A good chunk of muslims- yes, fine, they haven't assimilated too well.

Is there a lot multiculturism in liverpool?

You need to understand there is nothing ideological about this, no strategy or anything. This is just fun for these kids and you should understand their attitudes.

Financial inequity exists in all societies and that is no excuse for rioters. This type of anarchy needs to be quelled effectively. I feel sorry for the police retreating with just shields.

I think a "shoot at sight" order would bring some sanity back to the looters. Hope the British government takes the tough decision and puts these scum in their place.

I have spent a limited time in Europe and my observation about blacks is this : the majority of blacks from Caribbean nations do seem well assimilated into core European customs and values, but the blacks from African nations are as Pakis as Pakis. Add to this a rampant inflow of muslim immigrants from Turkey,N.Africa,South Asia since 90s and you have a problem that post-WW2 European society just doesn't know how to deal with. Yesterday it was France, today it is England and soon we'll see similar images across Europe. Whatever their colonial past and history, they provided asylum and security to millions of immigrants who came to their shores seeking a better quality of life. And when this symbiosis does not work and they turn on their hosts, how should the host nation respond ? More liberty and secularism to go on a crime spree and rioting ? or start throwing them out of the country ? Soon most European nations will have to take this decision, their survival is at stake now.

Because the riots itself started when they shot dead a black person with a gun, which the police admitted yesterday "they should have handled the incident better".
That started it off and then its fun and games for the kids. During the day, they'll just chill out or go to work. Its school holidays so that's helped too.

Yes, it is people who are on benefits etc doing the rioting. Yes, its people from the city of london, which are predominantly 2nd or 3rd gen immigrants.

Does that mean multiculturalism is the sole cause of this? Not really.as afro-caribbean are pretty much assimilated into society. Paki's probably not.

Have you ever been to a big football match?? There are almost riots in any big game like cardiff v bristol. People throw bricks at supporters/cars etc. Supporters are by and large whites on benefits.

The last time cardiff played chelsea, you can see youtube vids on how bad the security situation was.

you all are unnecessarily shedding tears for Britain by talking about the failure of Multi-kulti. anything like this in Britain, must be enjoyed to the heart's content. let the eyes produce rivers of joy onlee, for the progress UK is making in allowing dissent and freedom of action.

no need to analyze this too much. I suspect there is a strong streak of nihilism present. how's that for Marxist speech turned on the perpetrators of loot and rape for centuries......

UK is getting a very diluted dose of what they had/have been doing to other countries for centuries. This is in no way a karma coming back - that would be a lot worse.

I am part of the same generation that is rioting and I've spent most of my schooling life in various parts of the UK.
Take the areas of looting/rioting.
Lewisham, clapham, brixton - blacks
Croydon - mixed/blacks/white/SL tamils
East ham - quite mixed.

Birmingham - mix of black/paki's/ and white.
Liverpool - predominantly white.

Look, this is fun for them and fits in with the whole gangster/gang culture in the UK (common from the age of 13 till 21/22 and then people grow up a bit, a lot of people stay stuck in there depending on the area/economic background). Its "cool" to be rioting and smashing up a police car for fun.
If you don't grow up here, then you don't really understand it... The media doesn't understand how these kids think.

BATTLE OF BRITAIN-2.
(From our special staff reporter,Arson N. Loot)

Never since the grim days of the Nazi Blitz of WW2 has Great Britain been steeped in such a crisis,as fires light the night sky spreading across the country (except Scotland-a foreign land),remnisceent of that great fire centuries ago of which that great diarist Pepys wrote of.I see through the London smoke the dome of St.Paul's cathedral, that great masterpiece by Wren, still proudly standing like an invincible icon, giving hope to millions of Britishers that their kingdom might somehow survive. The dreaded enemy, the demon "hoodies",who for decades laid low in their sleeper cells, who invaded this isle of milk and honey by stealth, sprang to life and devilish destruction on a summer's eve first in the fair landscape of Tottenham, and through the first use of urban "Network Centric Warfare",the "All Blacks" with their secret EW weapons, their "Black-Berrys" ,have outfoxed and outfought the renowned London Bobbies and Bobettes ,their horses and their dogs in savage street fighting, threatening to take over this fair land of Albion.

London,or Londonistan as many Islamist Brits describe it,resembled Baghdad,Beirut,Benghazi or Basra more than that fair city of spires, domes and parks, nestling by the Thames riverside. The conflagration has now spread across both banks.North, south, east and west, the names of today's battlefields of Croydon,Ealing,Camden,Romford and Clapham will go down in history along with those great names of,Agincourt, the Somme,Zion Kop,El Alamein and Normandy. As reports come in of news of battles as far off as the famous port of Bristol (where I had uncannily visited recently on a premonition),Birmingham and Liverpool, reached us embattled members of the press,we watched horror stricken and riveted as intense battles raged street by street, between that "thin blue line" of bobbies and the "All-Blacks",battling for key positions and enclaves like "Tescos", "Sainsburys","Sony" and Armani".The frenzied action was reminiscent to veterans of the fighting in Berlin during the last days of the war.Pub by pub surged the hordes of "All Black" commandos sprinkled with a few fair-faced Quislings and their special forces of 10yr. olds-whose speciality was the ability to swiftly crawl through the smallest holes in broken shop windows to enter, loot and scoot.

Latest reports say the Royal family are safe,a great reassurance to the millions of pensioners and citizens, some of whom have had to leap from their buildings which were torched by the invading "Black-Berrys".A great security cordon has been thrown around Whitehall,Buckingham Palace and 10 Downing Street, reminiscient of that great French example of military engineering, the Maginot Line, called the "Whitehall Wall".Should this wall fall, plans are afoot according to informed sources, to evacuate by helicopter the Royal Family and key government officials including the PM and his cabinet to Scotland, from where the fight can be continued safely behind that great Roman fortification,Hadrian's Wall. "They shall not pass",is the watchword, exemplifying that great British Bulldog fighting spirit! A news flash has just reported that that HM the Queen has also asked Prince Harry to return to the battlefield and fight for Queen and country in .... Afghanistan!

Winging his way back to the great fires sweeping across the London night skies was Field Mayor Boris Johnson, that renowned marital arts expert, expected to take charge of London's defence forces leading from the front on his battling bicycle, urging his bobbies and especially bobettes on,in his characteristic "leg-over" style of campaign! Also cutting short his hols was Dy.PM Nick "peg-leg" Clegg, hopping to be of some use in this historic confilct as chief cigar cutter to his boss. That great man, chomping on his "Trichy",eyes reddened as if on fire from his countless glasses of champagne and brandy, charged with true British pluck, is
winging his way aboard a special military aircraft,Prime Minister David "Churchill" Cameron. He had this to say to the heroic British people desperate for inspiration and hope."We shall fight them in the Beeches (of Hyde Park),we shall fight them in the high streets,we shall fight them in the side streets, pub by pub,in the shopping malls,in the hyper-markets of Tesco's and Sainsbury's and in the grounds of Sony,we shall never surrender!".

This is just the ever present UK class struggle raising it's head again. Labour has cultivated a huge welfare dependant class and these are the people hardest hit with the conservatives coming to power. Crackdown on benefit cheats and downsizing within the welfare system has led to a lot of resentment.

There has always been a working class versus middle class cold war in UK which has been accentuated with the way people saw the bankers being treated with kid gloves post the financial crisis. Cameron has cut a lot of working class jobs under austerity measures and it's been bubbling up for a while. It might be the yobs rioting, but there is certainly sympathy for them from the working classes.

PS: Guess who else the Labour cultivated?

these riots have nothing to do with islamists or immigrants. the rioters are mostly young black kids and white (middle class) anarchists, who enjoy taking to the streets. the black kids mostly are "under employed" and economically disadvantaged - though will do fine out of benefits. this is partly due to discrimination and partly due to the 'gangsta culture' amongst the young males in UK Caribbean communities - very catch 22 situation. most of the neighbourhoods being affected are where these communities form substantial minorities. they are being stupid, burning their own shops, etc. the underlying tension against the police is long standing and part of the 'yoof' kulcha' - its been like this since the late 70's.

as others have said, its summer, there's a party mood, rumours are flying around (BB messenger in particular is a favoured media), and its good fun to roam the streets and be powerful for a few minutes of fame and steal some new trainers and a tv set. things that would cost weeks of working or benefit... i don't see a sense of alarm in mango englanders yet, its all business as usual

there is a message for the islamists though - there are forces far stronger than you on the streets and sitting inside their homes

^^^ in this case i don't think so. london is 99% functional as normal, despite these serious incidents. there is no alarm or panic. the islamists will be very outnumbered and if they try something like this, mango people (including the rioting black kids) will not be too kind to them (i.e. will retalliate). the police may have to maintain PC fronts, but will probably indulge in out of sight beatings and kickings (as usual)

I read thar turkish areas had local people form groups to keep rioters away from their stores/homes. Same with "muslim" groups. They seem to be pretty well grouped.

Is our Amby(the guy, not the car) in UK meeting with this disenfranchised youth who are onlee venting their years of frustration over underemployment and police brutality in a peaceful manner by throwing pebbles against armed security forces.

We urge the UK government to listen to their angry youth and have talks with them.

Please call all your contacts in UKstan and offer them your condolences/sympathies during such a terrible time.
