Which 45th US President is better for India?

Post by RajeshA »

Normally we Indians can't care much about US Elections! Often we think, that the choice of US President won't really make much of a difference to Indo-US relations.
  • US would continue to use and prop up Pakistan and its nuclear threat and terrorism towards India to contain India.
  • US would continue to balance "South Asia" to enable it to play a bigger mediator role in the region, aka do blackmail.
  • US would continue to sermonize India on "religious freedom and plight of minorities" regardless of how inclusive Indian Govt. is.
  • US would continue to push missionaries into India through NGOs, charities, and what not to undermine Bharatiya Civilization.
  • US would continue to keep out India from so-called "Big Boys Clubs" like UNSC P5, NPT N5, etc. and keep our influence in check.
  • US would continue to try to browbeat India to concede on market access, climate change assurances and military agreements.
So does it really matter who is chosen as the next President?

Perhaps not on these issues, but AFAIK,
  1. Donald Trump has shown that he is going to be much tougher on Islam/Islamism and not going to buy the "Moderate Islam" bogey.
  2. Hillary Clinton has in the past tried to conduct a manhunt for alleged mass-graves in Gujarat to implicate NaMo in some form of genocide charges. She also has a strong fondness for advisers close to the Muslim Brotherhood and Pakistanis.
I too do not expect any radical changes in US relationship with India, but I would like to have opinions of other BRFites on this.

I also hope that this thread can provide some guidance and some sense of Indian mood and interests for those Indians in the USA who would be voting or campaigning in US Presidential Election 2016.

I hope the moderates allow this thread!

The Clintons are pro-Pak and pro-China and have deep relations with the Chinese lobby. So Trump, despite being Republican maybe better for India.
