India-US anti-terror cooperation: For the first time, NSG commandos train with US Special Forces
Exercise “Balanced Iroquois” is aimed at creating interoperability between the NSG and the US Special Forces, should the need ever arise. “We want to be the guys NSG calls for help,” said a US military official.

“But before we reach that stage, we need to develop mutual trust between the two forces. We can look at intelligence exchange, sharing of tactical intelligence, providing advisors, setting up a combined operations room and then, conducting a combined raid,” the official added.

For starters how about handing over David Headley?
And wont happen.

NSG even if it has military personnel is a police organization.
So what are US military commandoes doing training with Indian police units?
Being first guys to call for help.

Terror scan on rape convict
New Delhi, Nov. 2: Top officials in the Narendra Modi government are racking their brains on how to watch the juvenile convict in the December 2012 Delhi bus gang rape case, who they fear has been radicalised while sharing a cell with a convict in a terror case.

Last week, Union home secretary Rajiv Mehrishi met senior officials of the ministry to discuss his release from the juvenile home next month. Delhi police commissioner B.S. Bassi and Intelligence Bureau director Dineshwar Sharma were present at the meeting.

Women and child development minister Maneka Gandhi today said: "The juvenile convict will be released in December and should be under watch. I will write to the concerned authorities." He will be 20.

During the recent meeting with Nawaz, the US seems to have said had the Gurdaspur attack resulted in mass casualties, India would have been forced to respond. Their belief is that its the mass casualties that force the politicians to act, so if they can contribute to hold those numbers by inserting themselves in ops then the chain reaction could be averted. Not assigning any altruistic motives, the reason could be to protect their Paki investment. They are 4-6 hours flying distance from Afghanistan or could fly in from local US Embassy. This is a neutral scenario and there is the benefit of equipment to NSG.

A positive scenario would be to act in Pakiland with other than symbolic gestures, as they seem to be the ones needing all the help, not going to happen.

CT on
The LeT has goals that align with Paki goals aganist India, similarly the US has some goals aganist India especially all the sanctioned institutions, if the LeT does the opening by attacking a sensitive installation that lived through sanctions, the special ops teams by the way of insertion with the NSG could finish the act. This is the worst case scenario.

more scary thing is how did the juvenile kashmiri terrorist land up there and how many has he converted?
special 'adarsh balak juvenile terrorist homes' need to be setup adjacent to regular jails to contain the radioactive fallout and keep them away from rank and file juvenile offenders(though our delhi guy was a berserk animal to start with)

this is a oversight by the admin to put together these two king cobras and see what new species emerges from their gatbandhan.

Government mulls central body to handle Chhota Rajan-type arrests - Economictimes

Image
The proposed legislation calls for designating an authority of the rank of additional secretary/special secretary (international police cooperation) exclusively to handle matters related to extradition and mutual legal assistance in criminal matters. The head of the authority can be assisted by two joint secretaries, one of whom could be a police officer and another law officer having knowledge of international laws, as per the draft bill.

At present, the legal assistance requests and letters rogatory are handled by joint secretary (internal security-2) of home ministry in cooperation with Interpol branch of CBI. "It has been observed that the mutual legal assistance is not properly drafted by the local police, which results in no replies from foreign countries," {its a deliberate attempt by ISI-Dawood-Hawala-Congooons cabal} the official cited earlier said.

http://nearfox.com/news/2015/05/19/mumb ... an-santos/
On the fateful night of October 2011, Keenan Santos and his friend Ruben Fernandes had gone out for dinner with their friends. But what was supposed to be the happy hour turned into the death hour for both of them. Ironically, their fault was that they refused to look other way as most people do, when a few goons tried to harass the girls in their group. Keenan and Ruben were stabbed to death by four goons in the presence of 40 bystanders at Andheri’s busy Amboli area.

This case had managed to be the talking point of almost all the media outlets in the country. The glaring apathy that was brought to light in this twin murder case jolted the conscience of the society. But as the years went by this sensational murder case was relegated from the front pages of the paper to the inside pages and eventually it was out of the papers.During the time when media highlighted the societal break down which lead to the death of two brave men, there was one man who was struck with the biggest grief yet showed gladiatorial strength, and that was Valerian Santos. Even while battling the loss of losing his young son due to the urban apathy, Valerain spoke about the safety of women in public spaces and about the depleting human compassion. While, several people questioned why Keenan and Ruben did not go the conventional way of looking the other way around, Valerian stood by his son’s action and said it was better to “die than live like a coward”
ZIP News: It won’t be wrong to say that Keenan and Ruben died of urban apathy, is there any sense of anger towards the people who chose to be passive bystanders? Valerian: A lot could have been done that night; people could have thrown the chairs and so on. But what troubles me is that one scene I witnessed after the clash. I went on the spot and saw that there was a huge ring of bystanders at the spot. I had to push myself through the crowd and see that Priyanka was totally hysteric and crying on the ground. But none of the bystanders came to console the girls who were in a pitiable state. I am not concerned about the people not helping Keenan and Ruben but why were they watching the ‘tamasha’ if they could not even console the pitiable girls? Where have we lost our humanity? Every time I think about that episode it leaves me very angry. -

Why do we need a legislation and new specialist posts sanctioned for everything. People on the ground should learn to coordinate with each other and make things happen. The country is already a sea of acronyms with overlapping and hence unclear responsibilities.

Sarbat Khalsa sets alarm bells ringing for Akalis
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), which has all along been calling itself the true representative of the Sikh community, has suffered a setback with its core vote bank of the Sikhs, outraged at the recent incidents of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib, finding solace in the radicals’ fold at the Sarbat Khalsa today.he fact that these radicals have given a clarion call for a separate Sikh state, though they refrained from giving it a political name, and little objection was raised to this demand by the gathering at the congregation, has not only raised heckles of Akali leaders, but also that of the NDA government at the Centre. Most leaders feel the public dissent will have to be addressed as soon as possible so as not to fan radicalism. The SAD and its ally BJP have blamed the Congress for helping radicals mobilise crowds. The ruling partners in the Punjab Government have also realised that they will have to deliver on governance and remove public resentment so as to keep the radical elements away.Top leaders in the party attribute the success of the Sarbat Khalsa to the support extended to radicals by their political opponents, mainly the Congress. Senior Akali leaders insist the presence of Congress leaders such as Ramanjit Sikki (MLA) and Inderjit Singh Zira on the same stage as radical leaders, was proof of how the Congress had helped them mobilise crowds for the today’s event. The gathering was called and managed at the behest of anti-Panthic elements who represent the traditional enemy of the Khalsa Panth— the Congress. The presence of Congress leaders, including Inderjit Singh Zira and others along with their workers, at the gathering gave their game away. We reject the resolutions as these are an attempt to vitiate the hard-earned atmosphere of peace and communal harmony, which remains a priority of the Shiromani Akali Dal as of all Punjabis,” said Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Balwinder Singh Bhunder and Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra. “The Sikhs stand for a federal structure in the country with greater autonomy to states,” they said.

Anup Chetia handed over to India by Bangladesh - PTI
ULFA leader Anup Chetia was on Wednesday handed over by Bangladesh to India.

Chetia, who was in Bangladesh since his arrest by the country's police in 1997, was handed over to India at the personal intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and through active involvement of NSA Ajit Doval.

Chetia was handed over this morning, highly-placed sources told PTI.

Chetia, a founding member of ULFA and its general secretary, is wanted for murder, abductions and extortion in India.

He had sought political asylum in Bangladesh thrice in 2005, 2008 and in 2011 after Bangladesh police arrested him in December 1997 and was subsequently handed seven years of jail terms by two courts for cross-border intrusion, carrying fake passports and illegally keeping foreign currencies.

Despite the expiry of his term, Chetia was in jail under a 2003 High Court directive asking authorities to keep him in safe custody until a decision was taken on his asylum plea.

You're essentially deconstructing their identities and reconstructing them to fit the western experience.

Darker skin complexion turns into race.

Traditions turns into religion.

Values/Ethics turns into rights.

Varna/Jati turns into Caste.

Instead of fixing the problem of the colonial constructions, they reinforce them and then blame it on the culture. Isn't this how armed insurrection starts? More specifically, what good is the state when the people you are relying on to "fix" the system are the same people who believe in the oppressive culture that you wish to get rid of?

BJP leaders' murder: ATS hands over all 7 accused to cops
The trio were identified as Haider Ali Shaikh (29), Mohsin Khan Pathan (25) and Nisar Ahmed Shaikh (30), all residents of Suart, while four others as Joyeb alias Juhaib Ansari, the sharpshooter who allegedly opened fire on the two leaders, Inayat Vora, Saiyad Imran Kadri and Yunus Shaikh. According to ATS, Haider, Mohsin and Nisar fled to Ajmer soon after the BJP leaders were murdered on November 2 and then proceeded to Kaliyar dargah near Haridwar. "Our investigation revealed that Haider was riding the bike while Joyeb, who opened fire, was riding pillion. Mohsin and Nisar had conducted recce of the BJP leaders and passed on the information to the duo to carry out the killings," said Bhatt.

The agency yesterday announced that it had unravelled the conspiracy behind murders of Shirish Bangali, former BJP president of Bharuch district and senior RSS member, and Pragnesh Mistry, general secretary of the Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha of Bharuch district, by arresting seven persons. The agency had said that the contract for their killing was allegedly given by absconding 1993 Mumbai serial blasts accused Javed Chikna from South Africa, apparently to avenge subsequent riots in Mumbai and Gujarat. According to ATS, the assignment to carry out the contractual killing was given by Chikna to Saiyad Kadri who subsequently roped in six others to carry out the murders.

Network operating for Nazir in State

The State Intelligence is closely monitoring a suspected larger network in the State working for Thadiyantavide Nazir, alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative.

The racket has come under the scanner, especially after the arrest of his close aide Shahanas from here on Saturday.
....
The network has its strong base in places such as Perumbavur and Muvattupuzha in Ernakulam district, in addition to various other districts in northern parts of the State. Authorities are also looking into the possibility of this network receiving funds from outside Kerala, given the alleged transnational connections of Nazir.

----
The Malayalam dailies have also been highlighting another aspect of this case. That Karnataka Police have been leaking the movement plans of Thadiyantavide Nazeer to his compatriots. A team from Bangalore is already in Kochi to investigate this angle. There is also an attempt to coerce witnesses to turn hostile, using threats or money.

NRI rams car into barrier at Wagah border, arrested
An NRI driver reportedly broke the barriers at the Wagah border in an attempt to cross over to Pakistan on Sunday night, according to ANI news agency.

The Border Security Forces (BSF) arrested the driver, identified as Canadian Surinder Singh Kang, who is said to be originally from Jalandhar. He reportedly wanted to visit the Nankana Sahib shrine in Pakistan.

"Preliminary investigations reveal that he was undergoing psychiatric treatment. He told us that he wanted to pay obeisance at Nankana Sahib, but did not want to wait for the visa and other formalities and adopted the illegal way," a BSF official was quoted saying by the Press Trust of India.

Some cop was 'accidentally' firing his rifle near PM Modi's residence.

Needs through investigation after Congress exhortation to Pakis to remove Modi via Mani Shankar Aiyer.

[ulr=http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/indi ... 836303.cms]Accidental Fire by cop near PM's residence[/url]

Three shots from AK-47.

Must be in auto mode?
NEW DELHI: Panic spread near Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence, 7 Race Course road, late on Wednesday evening after gunshots rang in the vicinity of the highly secured area.

However, it turned out that the firing was accidental and it had happened when the AK-47 assault rifle of the gunman of a PCR van, Victor 35, went off. Three shots were fired one after another at the spot, which is a parking lot near the 7 RCR. Nobody sustained injuries in the incident, police said.

"Head Constable Amarpal, in charge of Victor 35 made a self call to Victor 1 in the central police control room informing that while taking charge of the PCR, his rifle fired accidentally. The gunman has been identified as Constable Ramesh," a police official said.

Soon after, cops rushed to the spot and began investigations. The Kamal Ataturk Marg was taken under heavy security cover.

Intelligence agency sleuths are verifying the antecedents of the constable. A case was being registered in this connection at Chanakyapuri police station. Section 336 of IPC pertaining to Act endangering lives may be invoked. Disciplinary action including suspension may be initiated against the erring cop.

The gunfire, which comes close to the Paris shooting, sent shockwaves through the department brass, Prime Minister's Office and the home ministry.

Mean while, did not find any major/detailed reports in the dailies..
CHHOTA SHAKEEL ‘AIDE’ ARRESTED BY CCB COPS

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested a 28-year-old man who is allegedly a close aide of underworld don and most wanted fugitive Chhota Shakeel for hatching a plan to eliminate eminent persons in the city to disturb communal harmony.
The accused has been identified as Syed Niyamath alias Rehman, a resident of Bismillanagar and a wanted criminal involved in seven cases including murder and attempt-to-murder cases registered in the city.
"We cannot reveal the name of the leader who was the gang's target. But we are sure he would have been murdered within 24 hours after the weapons reached the gang. The weapons were about to reach the accused persons when we caught them," deputy commissioner of police (crime) R Ramesh said.

----
From the way the media has ignored this, I feel the religion of the leaders targetted is obvious. Perhaps people who are more closer to the ground when it comes to Bangalore and state level politics may even be able to give hints on the possible targets. And it must be noted that, there is indeed a plan (or an idea) to cause communal riots on Bangalore city (known to be cosmpolitan) and in KA state. The Kodagu/Coorg riots may be a trial run or sample fire works.

Congress encouraging secessionists, should be derecognised, says Badal
New Delhi: Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today accused Congress of fomenting trouble in the state by encouraging secessionist forces.
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Badal alleged that Congress leaders shared stage with radical and separatist elements at a recent gathering in Amritsar, where demand for Khalistan was raked up.Badal, who is the chief of Punjab's ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), also met President Pranab Mukherjee and demanded that action should be taken against Congress and the party should be "derecognised".Referring to the 'Sarbat Khalsa' or Sikh religious congregation, he said they appointed the convict in Beant Singh assassination case as 'jathedar' or chief priest.
He alleged that videos on social media show Congress leaders directing separatists about what to say and that they have provided other support for the gathering.Badal also claimed that one of the Congress leaders present Ramanjit Singh Sikki is known to be close to former chief minister and Congress leader Amarinder Singh. He said Congress leader Inderjit Singh Zira was also present."The Congress is trying to distance itself from the congregation. If they were not part of it, why have they taken no action against Congress leaders who were on stage and provided support," Badal asked.Rahul Gandhi, he further alleged, went to Punjab and encouraged radical ele
ments at a time when Pakistan's ISI is already on the lookout to foment trouble in the state and demanded action against the Congress.

INTEL:NOW ISI USING DAWOOD’S MEN TO SPARK RIOTS

Agencies suspect Pakistan is setting up new terror module in India by re- activating don’s network
PAKISTAN’S spy agency Inter- Services Intelligence ( ISI) is reactivating fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s network to set up a new terror module in India, suspect Indian intelligence agencies.
Banned terror outfit SIMI, according to security officials, has also been tapped to execute the plan.
As Indian Mujahideen ( IM) and SIMI have been disintegrated to some extent, the ISI is once again seeking the help of underworld to stoke violence in the country. Funds are being transferred from abroad and local men are picked up by the underworld to target prominent people and places, which eventually can trigger communal violence across the nation,” a senior official of a central agency told M AIL T ODAY .
The security officials have stumbled upon some facts, which helped them establish links between the murders of two BJP leaders in Gujarat’s Bharuch district and the arrest of Syed Rehman, a key aide of Chhota Shakeel. They said Rehman was hired to kill a Sri Rama Sene leader in Bengaluru. His boss Shakeel is a key member of the D-gang. In both the cases, senior security officials said, Pakistan-based D-Company supplied funds to assassinate leaders of BJP and rightwing organisations, which could have eventually sparked communal violence. This, they said, indicates that ISI with help of D-company is trying to set up new terror network in India. Leaders on radar According to the Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) in Gujarat, Javed Chikna — a close aide of Dawood — had funded `50 lakh to execute the operation that killed BJP leaders in Bharuch. The security agency believes that the gang wanted to stoke communal tension in the state by killing these leaders. Former party president of Bharuch district and senior RSS member Shirish Bangali and general secretary of Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha in the district Pragnesh Mistry were shot dead by gunmen in Bharuch on November 2. “Our investigation has revealed that Chikna is an associate of Dawood and he had funded `50 lakh to assassinate BJP leaders. They wanted to ignite communal tension. There is no other reason. It’s an act of terror by all means,” Superintendent of Police (Gujarat ATS) Himanshu Shukla told Mail Today. Drawing similarities between Bharuch and Bengaluru cases, he said, “The modus operandi that has been adopted in both the cases is similar. The trail of attacks on leaders took us to Dawood. Central security agencies would be able to investigate it in a better way. Other such modules may be working in different parts of country. There is a strong possibility. Bharuch is not a place which should be on terrorists’ radar. If they are doing it here, they must be planning it at other places in the country also.” The Gujarat government has sought the Centre’s nod to transfer the BJP leader’s murder cases to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Nine persons were arrested from different parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand by the police after the murders. The Gujarat ATS claimed that the murder contract was allegedly given by wanted gangster Javed Dawood Patel, also known as Javed Chikna. He is an accused in 1993 Mumbai serial blasts. Those arrested claimed that the attack was carried out to avenge the deaths of Muslims in different riots in the country. However, police believe that the motive was to hamper peace in the country by igniting communal violence. Recently, a central security agency intercepted chats of two terror suspects. The conversation, according to officials, hinted at attacks on BJP and RSS leaders. Prominent Hindu leaders from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh were named during the chats, said officials. In December 2014, a 12-year-old boy had died after a crude bomb exploded in Roorkee. The blast happened near the venue of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) meeting that was conducted to mark the anniversary of Babri mosque demolition. BJP leader Sangeet Som and a large number of VHP activists were present at the programme when the incident happened. The NIA is investing the case. According to security agencies, ISI has started using the D-Company’s men across the country to set up terror modules. Men of the D-gang have an easy access to local logistics. They have reportedly made a hit list of political leaders and prominent people. The underworld, according to security agencies, is also trying to trigger communal clashes by using the Babri and Godhra slogans. Earlier this year, a group of alleged terrorists were arrested in Madhya Pradesh. They had plans to target RSS and BJP leaders outside the state, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) had alerted Home Ministry. After the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, the role of D-Company or any other underworld gang in communal clashes has not been established.

Now getting Chota Rajan makes sense. If the old networks are being reactivated then Rajan must be knowing most of them.

Conviction in Panayikulam SIMI meeting
P.G. Manu, the prosecutor for the NIA, hailed the verdict as one befitting the times and claimed that most of the charges framed against the accused have been upheld by the court. Only those who have merely attended the meeting have been acquitted.
-----
The case was that SIMI cadre had assembled at a convention hall to discuss and debate on the topic of "Muslims in Independence struggle" or some thing similar, but it was more of a secret meeting with a different agenda. This seems to be another case in which NIA has done the investigation, charge sheeted the accused and the court has given the verdict.
