^ It has a fan albeit a smaller one but it is very neatly concealed and does it job very efficiently.

Negi, I meant data center fans. I get that laptop fans need to be as noiseless as possible.
One of the top strategies for saving fan energy is to replace a constant speed motor with one capable of variable frequency operation and running that as slowly as possible to save energy.
In air handlers, you want fans to run as slowly as possible. The power consumption of a fan is proportional to the cube of the fan speed. So if you manage to reduce fan speed to 50%, your power consumption drops down to 12.5% of what if was when the fan was running at full speed. Now this is based on a bunch of assumptions that don't always hold true, but it gives you a good idea of the effect of fan speed on power consumption.a better designed fan which runs at a higher RPM (read better bearings, blade design, materials ) with lower power consumption is a good thing

It doesn't make one sparrow fart of difference whether Sammy makes it own displays, SoCs and memory when it comes to making CE devices which people will love and use. Its all about UX. UX ensures long-term customer loyalty. Cheapo-ness ensures temporary spurt in sales followed by a crash, as we are seeing with Sammy.
Don't worry about Sammy. If they can stick standard Android and integrate their potential benefits & services (such as a Galaxy TV, washer, dryer, fridge, dishwasher, etc.), then they'll do fine. They needed a shake up and can't continue to peddle the same stuff in a changing market. Even the iPhone has lost market share, albeit small.

Nobody's talking about Sammy as a company - they are a chaebol who make everything from aircraft to bolts. We are talking about their future as the big dog of CE devices esp. mobile/wearables.

^^^They'll be in that space as well. Sammy's high end devices are pretty good, it is just everything else they do in the middle and lower price segments that are questionable. There is room for reform.

Their Galaxy S5 has set a new benchmark for turdyness.

Note is only product where they showed a bold lead, created a segment and I believe continues to have a leading offering fr those who can afford.
