As per that link, it is also called “jammer” but, in the link posted for MHU-83, below, it says that MHU-83 is called jammer.

Some specs, as per the above link:
1. Has a diesel driven hydrostatic engine.
2. The lift, yaw, tilt and roll functions of the lift boom are rated at 7000 lbs.
3. Qualified and certified by the USAF for handling nuclear munitions.
4. Electrical version with rechargeable batteries is available.

The above link also says that MHU-83 is referred to as “jammer”. Now, unless both these machines are called that, at least one of the links is wrong.

3. MOLT
Stands for Manually Operated Lift Trailer.
It is used for carrying Aim-9 missiles which are loaded by hand.

4. USN and USAF LALS

LALS stands for Linkless Ammunition Loading System.

As per the pdf link above, it is used:
1. In the USN to store, transport, load and download 20 mm munitions from F-14 & F/A-18 M61A1 gun systems.
2. In the USAF it does the same on the F-15, F-16, F/A-22.
3. USN version uses only a manual drive interface for loading and downloading while the USAF version utilizes either a manual or a pneumatic drive interface for the same.

Variable-geometry inlet

An educated throat bleed system is a passive throat bleed bypass arrangement which can enhance the stability of ramjet inlets. An educated bleed slot is one which passes only small amounts of bleed flow with supersonic approach Mach numbers (inlet supercritical) while maintaining approximately the higher bleed airflow characteristics of a plain slot when the flow over the slot is subsonic (inlet critical or subcritical). This provides a high ratio of critical-to-supercritical bleed airflow. This is accomplished by recessing the downstream lip of the bleed slot so that a large amount of the supersonic flow which expands around the bleed opening is turned back into the inlet. With subsonic flow approaching the bleed slot, the amount of flow bled is relatively unaffected by the fact that the lip is recessed.

An appropriate educated bleed slot design limits the supercritical inlet bleed flow (equivalent to that at pseudo-critical inlet operation) to that just required for boundary layer removal while providing for much larger amounts of bleed flow when external or internal flow perturbations suddenly push the inlet operation to near-critical, thus providing a bleed stability system.

Though I have posted the article....Yet I do not understand the details of it....I think....!

So, can gurus explain the article atleast technical terms used like bleed slot, bleed bypass arrangement etc...!

Russian mafia may be behind PMO cyber attack

NEW DELHI: Recent cyber attacks on computers used by the PMO and Cabinet Secretariat, among others, seem to have originated from Russia and were perhaps the handiwork of the mafia or criminal gangs which targeted email IDs linked to the NICNET system.

The source of the suspicious emails in the inboxes of several officials using the .nic address -- including senior bureaucrats like national security advisor M K Narayanan and cabinet secretary K M Chandrashekhar -- has been traced to Russian servers. The emails had a virulent attachment which could infect the recipient computer if opened.

The possibility of cyber criminals working at the behest of other entities cannot be ruled out either although official sources maintained that reports of sensitive information being accessed were incorrect. Rather than a targeted operation, the attacks were in the nature of a "fishing expedition" ^ an effort to trawl information and later sift it.

These criminal gangs could also well be in the business of gathering information that could then be "offered" to interested parties in much the same way telemarketers deal with databases. A senior official, however, claimed that really sensitive information was not on the net systems that had been targeted.

It was pointed out that the bugs reached externally linked computers which are separate from the intranet that links PMO officials. The computers with open net access are used by officials for personal communication and net searches. The standalone computers are separate and believed to be tightly safeguarded. After the intruding emails were detected on December 15, all machines were scanned and innoculated afresh.

With Indian official systems earlier attacked by Chinese hackers, protecting communication, even if not too sensitive, has become a fulltime task. In this case, it is felt that the hackers did not get much beyond accessing subject lines and IDs of persons who were in communication with the officials concerned. And if recipients did not open the attachments, they were reasonably safe.

According to PMO sources, the computer files possibly accessed by the overseas hackers contained "nothing sensitive or secret". Anticipating the increasing attentions of `hackers", a `safety shield' is already in place though there is no way to prevent cyber criminals or mischief makers from launching attacks.

"You have to actually walk into the PMO to access the information contained in the intra-office computers," a source said. When the hacking incident was detected, a probe was ordered. The National Technical Research Organization did the sleuthing thereafter.
