The War Wounded Foundation was incorporated in August 2002, with the intention of creating long- term avenues for the financial independence of all war – wounded personnel of the Army, Navy and the Air Force. There are nearly 30,000 war - wounded personnel in our country, scattered in different parts of India . On account of the heavy involvement of the defence forces, especially the Army, in major counter – insurgent and counter – terrorist operations in many parts of the country, there is a constant addition to the number of such personnel. The war wounded hail from all states and union territories. The work of the War Wounded Foundation is thus on an all – India basis.
The War Wounded Foundation has been set up as an autonomous organization to assist war wounded personnel in leading useful & productive lives and becoming financially independent.

Now, this is about EXTRA from Defence-Update wesbite:http://defense-update.com/products/e/extra.htmEquipped with a fibre-optic gyro-based inertial navigation system combined with a GPS receiver, the Prahaar will use an aft section fitted with stabilising fins and a solid-rocket motor. The warhead section will be built as a modular compartment, designed to carry various types of sub-munitions or a unitary warhead. For example, it will be able to carry up to 400 AT/AP bomblets, scatterable mines, anti-runway munitions and similar loads. The fin-mounted control section will store the guidance and control avionics, driving four flight control surfaces for trajectory shaping. The ‘Prahaar’ has been developed by the DRDO in cooperation with Israel Aircraft Industries’ (IAI) MLM Systems Integration Division and Israel Military Industries’ (IMI) Rocket Systems Division as a modular kit. By adjusting the ballistic trajectory of the missile to compensate for wind drift and other meteorological effects the Prahaar’s flight control system is claimed to have improved the accuracy of the missile by 4 times the average accuracy of existing unguided MBRL-launched rockets

This is what Mr. Sengupta wrote about "Prahaar" on his blog. From here: http://trishul-trident.blogspot.com/201 ... ahaar.html

This is a nice site. Initially i was like "...nyaah.. what can be new?.. we heard the khetarpal story so many times..." Some of the pictures were neat , particularly sad to see the original 'telegram'. came so many days after the war was over.sumeet_s wrote:A website on 2Lt. (rahulm, any chance of a picture?)The tank of Arun Khetarpal was called Famagusta Jx 202. It was restored after the war and is kept in the Armour school, Ahmedgarh.
# Famagusta’s crew was Sowar Prayag Singh, the driver. Sowar Nand Singh, the Radio Operator. Sowar Nathu Singh, the Gunner and 2/lt Arun Khetarpal, the commander.
# Nand Singh was first to die. This was just before the fatal encounter with Major Nasser. Then Arun sccumbed to his injuries. Both Prayag Singh and Nathu Singh were badly wounded but survived and retired from the army as Hon. Captains.
# Arun Khetarpal’s mother did not get the news of his death till the 26th of December. She had got his motorcycle serviced and his room decked up after hearing that the war was over on the 17th December.
# He was cremated on the 17th of December near Samba dictrict. All his family got was his ashes in small handkerchief.

The Prahaar will have a range of 150km and carry a 125kg (275lb) warhead. Launch weight will be about 430kg (990lb), and CEP will be well within 10 metres. It is a different matter alltogether that, even in the first instance, he had copied the write-up om EXTRA and replaced EXTRA with Prahaar (as shown by yours truly in my previous post). The EXTRA projectile, which has served as inspiration for the Prahaar, has a range of 150km and carries a 125kg (275lb) warhead. Launch weight is about 430kg (990lb), and CEP is well within 10 metres. Equipped with a fibre-optic gyro-based inertial navigation system combined with a GPS receiver, the EXTRA uses an aft section fitted with stabilising fins and a solid-rocket motor. The section of the article lifted by Mr. Chorgupta and which still appears as such on his website in this article:http://trishul-trident.blogspot.com/201 ... ahaar.htmlLORA follows a relatively simple three elements design, comprising a warhead in the fore section, propulsion unit, including the solid fuel rocket motor with a nozzle. The nozzle is encircled by the navigation, flight control and guidance unit, which includes the integrated avionic guidance and flight control section, cruciform tail control surfaces, actuators, related antennas and connectors.

Answer from Chorgupta:Hi Prasun!
I remember reading a month ago a comment by someone at BRF about a senior ex-Indian Army officer writing an article in FORCE magazine about the M-46S upgrade being completed. Your comments?
To Anon@4.24AM: Yeah, I remember that ill-conceived and ignorant comment by some guy called rohitvats. Nerds like him ignorantly presume that since some thoughts are penned by retired military officials these thoughts will be the gospel truth. The facts speak otherwise, and here's why: In the February 2010 issue of FORCE magazine there was an interview published of the then Army Chief Gen Deepak Kapoor in which he repeated pretty much what he had said on the eve of Army Day a month earlier. In the interview, the Army Chief had very clearly spelt out the field artillery modernisation targets yet to be achieved, which included the M-46 ungunning project. He also said that the project would take off before the end of the current 5-year defence plan (which ends in 2012). Therefore, these BR wannabes, who don't have access to publications like FORCE, and who in any case are never even invited to such press conferences/interviews, often end up getting kicked big time in their 6 'o clocks due to their devious naivety. Therefore, such mischievous elements cannot be regarded as friends of India <SNIP>
Rohit, welcome to the club... he conveniently misses some points; let us educate him..rohitvats wrote:Answer from Chorgupta:I remember reading a month ago a comment by someone at BRF about a senior ex-Indian Army officer writing an article in FORCE magazine about the M-46S upgrade being completed. funny that he touts Farce Mag as the cornucopia of mil knowledge. Aviation week, IDRW, India Defence online, India strategic etc have better content. In this modern age of Google Chacha, one can get info from anywhere. I have access to Boeing's internal knowledge base where I CAN GET ARTICLES from any magazine / publication.. Our own BRF has high quality stuff in abundance... probably he is trying to Hawk Farce... BTB, if he is getting invite to ALL Press conferences, why does he stumble in EVERY Blog Post. Did he fall asleep when they were talking?shiv wrote:Who needs FORCE when we can read "brochors" for free online.
