Re: LCA News and Discussions
Didn't even hear or see it. Haven't seen one in ages. Looks like they avoid CBD side.suryag wrote:Rajanb sir you are on the landing path right? please get to the window with camera
It must have taken off eastwards and landed east to west. Whitefield/Sarjapur areas. I am west of the airport. I used to see plenty of them last year.
Now the Pakis will fly a Bundar with an arrestor hook?

In all seriousness... how many other countries do make a Naval plane. I can count 4 others Khan,Russ, Chota Khan (UK), French.... and now India. Am I missing any one else....??

Add China and India to that list.
Delete UK in the near future. Am not sure where Russia stands at the moment - they have the tech, but do they have a projected need?

Re: LCA News and Discussions
Looks like most first flights happen with the bird taking off on runway 27 and then continuing out on runway heading and clearing Bangalore, carrying out the tests and approaching for landing on Runway 27 again.

Re: LCA News and Discussions
was a perfect flight, took off at about 1205 and landed around 1230(had to wait for the rahu kala hence the delay in taking off )
Re: LCA News and Discussions
Saw the clip on HT,the best looking LCA around, this bird deserves a new nomenclature for sure.
Re: LCA News and Discussions
^^Link for the clip plz?
Re: LCA News and Discussions
There is seriously a lack of info flowing out (when compared to LSP 7). Either Tarmaak makes that big a diff or..... there is a clamp down on the photos and such (that is mentioned in Tarmaak site). Not many news sites are carrying the news also. Sad

Guru's..
Will there be a designated take off and landing distance for the NLCA flight to be deemed successful ? Or is the current flight to make sure that airframe is flight worthy ?

The interesting point of the Official release is
The interesting point of the Official release is
This means the the reports that "permission" was not given to retract the landing gear due to "safety issues" is pure DDM or psyk warefare..The test flight was carried out with landing gear extended as a routine practice during the maiden flight.
Re: LCA News and Discussions
IndiaToday DDM reports Naval version of LCA Tejas takes off successfully
Earlier, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) had successfully test fired Agni-V on April 19 and launched Risat-1 exactly a week later.

Re: LCA News and Discussions
Quick question, Why wasn't the tail hook installed on the NP-1?? In none of the pictures, is the hook visible..
Re: LCA News and Discussions
permission for landing gear question is DDMitis ignore it
Re: LCA News and Discussions
A few pics for those who think the NLCA and the Gripen look alike.
Re: LCA News and Discussions
Actually IIRC LSP-7 on its first flight did retract its landing gear - so confidence on the landing gear of the AF variant is high. Not so for the Navy variant. All in good time.
This is a good milestone to reach. Testing this variant out fully will be interesting.
