All credit to Anantha Krishnan's M Twitter feed (@writetake).
Here is a clear picture of the IN Sea Harrier with Derby and Python combo on the outboard pylons with twin racks:
Interestingly, this Sea Harrier does NOT have the extended IFR probe installed as they are probably installed only when required.

Re: Miscellaneous Pictures - Indian Military
Excellent! the first picture that confirms that the Python V is already in IN service..should hopefully see that combo on the Tejas Mk1..that dual rack is another feature the Tejas really needs.

That looks more like R.550 Magic-2 to me.
Python-5 looks a whole lot different:

Yes, on a closer look, that does look like the R.550 Magic-2 - I stand corrected. Thank you.

for non hindi speakers that is retd brigadier kuldip singh chandpuri of longewalla.
Re: Miscellaneous Pictures - Indian Military
Carrying on the Longewalla a little bit further.
Due to circumstances I happened to visit the officers mess of various Artillery regiments and a very consistent painting of Longewalla was that of a HAL Krishak light plane flown by Major Atma Singh who was acting as Forward Air Controller (FAC) directing Hunters and Maruts. The painting showed him angling off Longewalla with Hunters diving and smoke rising from the burning tanks.
yes, everybody blows their trumpet but in that painting i always saw a coming together of various arms.
Air OP, + Infantry with the IAF.
Combined Arms Operations.
That painting was the best proof of pudding.

Re: Miscellaneous Pictures - Indian Military
when u have 65 tanks , hundreds of enemy soldiers and 100s of other military vehicles bearing down on u it takes a man with heart of steel to stand there and fight especially when u are utterly outnumbered. Tusi great ho bragadier sahab.

What's the symbolic value of Kiren Rijiju flying in a Rambha?

Re: Miscellaneous Pictures - Indian Military
It would have been more symbolic if they had based the Su-30's in Arunachal and flown near North Arunachal border.
Re: Miscellaneous Pictures - Indian Military
Apparently impressed with his passion for IAF planes during a conversation, CAS extended an invitation for a sortie which was duly accepted by Rijiju.Vishal Jolapara wrote:What's the symbolic value of Kiren Rijiju flying in a Rambha?
Re: Miscellaneous Pictures - Indian Military
Plus it's good PR. He's fit. Could be an actual pilot except for the eyeglasses maybe. There's a side by side pic of kitted Rijju walking to the aircraft and a soldier caryrying AK Antony like a rag doll... Somewhere on Twitter. Very effective.

the pics of the IL-76 taking off with all the snow they can possibly load on (outside) the airplane is so awesome.
Once again a testament to the Ruggedness of the a/c.
Western ACs would probably got a hot shower and a tael malesh of anti freeze before they were allowed to leave home in such Thandi Beta !!
