:P :(( If they cross 330 and we lose seewhack in the early overs, then it is going to be a struggle, perhaps a draw.. and still it does not feel good factor for retaining the #1 position.

We still need beefy bowlers or some such magic. Suddenly everything is back to SDRE kirikat. :((

Bah @ shivering yindoo in the wet dhoti... if this is your reaction even after the previous victory, you should move your loyalties. All of us will profusely thank you for not being a negative factor for us.

We have won, are winning, and will win with our sdre bowlers. No need for beefy bowlers all of a sudden.

We will lose onlee! :((

SA will make 400+, then SRT will make 300+ and TI will be 500+ and then we will get SA all out for less than 200 in the 3rd innings.

India will win onlee !

But then tanaji will come back and say I told you so, and media will go ga ga over how SRT single handedly won the test for India as well as the series. All ij well for #1 ranked team and BR jingos will give happy puppi-jhappi to each other in kirket thread, and the lynch mob led by dilbullah will be out on the threads of nukkad rioting with effigies of VVS who only managed to score a double duck in the winning test. Such is life onlee. :(( :((

Well be happy that if the #1 rank is maintained by winning any how, there are more people who don't care how we did it!? {as long as we win.. everything is okay under the belly}.

We got to have Bhajji fire on day 2, or else SA could pile up a huge total and it would be difficult for TI to force a win, and will go on the defensive. I would have liked so have seen Kallis gone, perhaphs 6-7 down after winning the toss and asking SA to bat.

SaiK, we have got play with what we have. Where are we going to get the "beefy" bowlers from? :-).

I dunno.. for example from where did we get those strengths in the CWG 4x400 women relay team? something like that! we need to start introducing yogasan that specifically explore the inner fire to beef up our bowling strengths without having to show any external anger. :P

Saik, SDRE vedic bowlers doing ramdev breathing techniques before each delivery is not going to spit fire at 90mph, nor are they going to be useful for 4X400m relays. For all that you need to eat beef onlee. :P

The packee Khawaja is doing well on debut. The good news is that Mr. Integrity has lost no: 3 spot forever. The bad news is that he is a packee, so no improvement in that position. Jo Lahore mein G**du woh Sydney mein ...

But if they do that, they could still do well even if its not at 90 mph.

Sai: we have these kinds of debates before. We have some strenghts & weaknesses, and we need to manage the resource the best we can. No point lamenting that if only my aunty had balls, she would become my uncle :-).

Lets not get carried away. Mr. Integrity is a class player and has piled up tons of runs. How many times have seen guys look impressive on debut like this Paki only to fizzle away.

The thing that struck me about this Paki among the white pakis is the white Paki nationalism. They kept on hyping what a proud momnet, how nerve wracking it must be, the best thing since sliced bread for adorning the baggy green. Its almost as if playing for Austrilai is some super natural achievement.

yes, two packee equivalents to choose from. Maybe, third packee will win. btw, packee #2 is out for 37, trying to sweep.

4.50pm So that *ends a promising innings from Khawaja on debut, and with that dismissal we have more rain. The players have gone off the field for the third time today.

58.6
Swann to Khawaja, OUT, 89.1 kph, Swann strikes in the first over of his spell! And it comes from a top-edged sweep, as Swann tossed it up on the stumps, Khawaja went for the shot and saw the ball lob up to be taken comfortably at square leg

UT Khawaja c Trott b Swann 37 (122m 95b 5x4 0x6) SR: 38.94

*emphasis mine.
They should merge the pacquee and whyte pacquee teams now. 37 after a lot of swishing and missing is indeed promising for a team placed fifth. :)

More than SRT's God status it is Baba Ramdev's breathing techniques that gives serious takleef to Gunga dins it seems

That Kallis gets his Hundred, given the movement on offer, looks SA have scored a pretty respectable 300 odd runs here, given that India have lasted only 1 of 4 times till the 2nd new ball this series. SA are in a very comfortable postion here.

SA 300 up nice partnership between Kallis and Paul Harris, good ininnigs from Kallis.

RSA 335/9 at Lunch... That Kallis   For Batting so much Kallis and Tsobe should not bowl, Steyn and Morkel should be made to Bowl 40 overs each in the Indian innings.

this time, SA all out for 362 5 to Shree, 3 to ZAK 2 to Ishant, that makes first target for TI
get 163 runs to avoid follow on and then 363 to make a match out of this.

Sehwag gone, 20/1 the procession starts. hmmm The wicket was so placid when Kallis is batting, now its back to Centurion 1st Innings.

Quote:
10.5
Tsotsobe to Gambhir, OUT, 126.0 kph, dropped but run-out, Gambhir tries to punch that off the back foot, gets a thick outside edge but is dropped at gully, he recovers, and runs back and returns an accurate throw to the striker's end, scores a direct-hit and Dravid, attempting the single, is caught short by a fair distance. Never run of a misfield, they say, and it includes drops. These two never looked comfortable in taking the singles and one's finally given way. India in a bit of trouble now. We suspect it was AB de Villiers who was the fielder but we need to take another look at the replay.

R Dravid run out 5 (21m 16b 0x4 0x6) SR: 31.25

http://www.espncricinfo.com/south-africa-v-india-2010/engine/current/match/463148.html

India need a miracle now, now that India is Batting the pitch has turned from a batting to a bowling Pitch.

it wasn't really the pitch - Sehwag played a loose shot and Gambhir tried to cut one which sliced off to the slips, dropped but deVilliers threw the ball back to run Dravid out, slick fielding

personally, I blame Ravi Shastri - every time he comes in to commentate, something goes wrong for India

The pitch is not really a difficult one to play one (as compared to the TI performance at Perth which has similar bounce). Sehwag is now officially Steyn's bunny. No question of it being otherwise. 7 of 11 times is very strange indeed. Dravid needs to stop panicking about his stance etc. You can see him roll the toes to try and get the balance going. All good going if they're preparing to peak around the world cup. 8)
