Admission of state sponsored terrorism by Pakistani authorities
see this Der Spigel Interview where Musharraf admits to that.
On 7th Nov in TimesNow Channel, Tasneem Noorani, a former Secretary of the Pakistani Interior Ministry, openly said that.
Kiyani called the Haqqanis as strategic assets.
In Dec. 2008, President Zardari himself admitted to ISI helping LeT. He said,"The links between the Inter-Services Intelligence Agency and the LeT were developed in the old days when dictators used to run the country. After the 9/11 terror attacks in the US, things have changed to a great extent"
In an address to bureaucrats in July 2009, President Zardari said: "Militants and extremists were deliberately created and nurtured as a policy to achieve some short-term tactical objectives. Let us be truthful to ourselves and make a candid admission of the realities. The terrorists of today were the heroes of yesteryears until 9/11 occurred and they began to haunt us as well"
In Nov. 2009, Prime Minister Gilani admitted to the support for terrorism by Musharraf as "running with the hares and hunting with the hounds".
When Bush warned the Pakistanis in August 2008 of their support to Al Qaeda, Afrasiab Khattak, President of Awami National Party (ANP) said this: "The question is why it has taken the Americans so long to see what the ISI is doing. We’ve been telling them for years but they wouldn’t buy it.". See here.
In an interview to the BBC as far back as on Feb. 13, 1994, Benazir Bhutto admitted how she handed over to Rajiv Gandhi the complete list of Sikh activists colluding with the ISI in terrorism in the Punjab. Later, Nawaz Sharif described this interview as a faux pas.
Apart from these, of course, numerous Pakistani commentators, analysts, and editors have openly admitted to terror as a state policy.

5 Pakistan Taliban leaders arrested by NATO forces in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Unconfirmed news from intelligence sources said on Monday that five Pakistan Taliban ( TTP) leaders were arrested Monday morning in the Gorvait area of North Waziristan by NATO forces and later taken away by two NATO helicopters to Afghanistan.
According to the sources who asked to remain anonymous, the action was taken by the NATO forces without informing the Pakistani government. If so, this is another Abbottabad-like operation taken by the foreign forces on the Pakistani soil without the knowledge of the Pakistani side.
Political agent of North Waziristan also confirmed the news.
So far, there is no official report about the Monday morning's operation taken by the NATO forces in North Waziristan, a tribal area in northwest Pakistan, which is believed to be a stronghold of militants in the country, who often launch attacks on the NATO forces in Afghanistan across the border.

Osama raid forgotten; US, Pakistan are pals again
"B Raman decodes the complicated chain of accusations, denials and public avowals of friendship that characterises the relationship between the United States and Pakistan.
Secret commitments by both the political and military leadership to cooperate with the United States in counter-terrorism, ritual denial of such commitments in public statements, dragging its feet in the implementation of the commitments and making fresh commitments. That has been the history of Pakistan's counter-terrorism cooperation with the US. That history continues after the death of Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden...."

"A Peaceful City?
Scratching Beneath the Surface in Abbottabad
By Walter Mayr
Is the city of Abbottabad, where Osama bin Laden was found and killed by US Special Operations forces on May 1, really as bucolic as it has been described? The al-Qaida boss, as it turns out, was far from the only Islamist who sought refuge in the town.
here's an invisible trail running through Abbottabad. Those who follow it will eventually find themselves in the shadowy realm of al-Qaida.
The path starts at the house where Osama bin Laden was killed. From there, it winds through potato fields and dusty lanes into the eastern part of the city before coming to a villa behind a white iron gate next to Hadshi Noor's general store.
The villa's address is 497 Arambagh, and its inhabitant is Abdul Hamid Sohail. The retired director of an insurance company stands in the doorway wearing white baggy trousers and a shirt with a stand-up collar. He doesn't look like someone who would harbor terrorists. But the impression is mistaken.
A few months ago, Sohail hosted Umar Patek, the presumed mastermind behind the bomb attacks in Bali nine years ago -- a man who has a $1 million (€700,000) bounty on his head. On Jan. 25, 2011, Pakistani police arrested the Indonesian in Sohail's villa. The insurance director's home is still pockmarked with bullet holes from the raid...."

Didnt we had a discussion on renaming TSp thread?? People had objection to TSP being called a republic. I hereby propose to rename this dhaga as "Terrorist Islamic Somalia of pakistan" or "pakistan: Terrorist Islamic Somalia of South Asia" (Note the "p" purposefully kept small)
Goes well to define true pakistaniyat:- Chaos, Bankruptcy, Fundamentalist Extremist Islam, Terrorism, Banana Republic, tribal, lawlessness, Ityadi.

The new Paki National Bird - longer, stronger and harder!
Every new thread deserves a new National Bird. AoA, may this Garuda facilitate many to meet their 72. AoA.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Atomics_Avenger
Truly a mighty bird to eject Hellfire droppings upon the heads of the pious. P!$$ Be Upon Them.Today’s killer drones are sitting ducks. Loud, slow-moving, and simple to spot, any air defense more potent than a militant with an AK is liable to take one of the robotic planes down.
But the next generation of unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs) won’t be the airborne equivalent of fish in a barrel. They’ll fly faster and higher than the current drone crop. And they’ll be somewhat stealthy, as well.
Take the Avenger UCAV, unveiled last year by General Atomic Aeronautical Systems, the company behind the Predator and Reaper drones. With a 41-foot long fuselage and 66-foot wingspan, the Avenger is capable of staying in the air for up to 20 hours, and operating at up to 50,000 feet. Powered by a 4,800-lb. thrust Pratt & Whitney PW545B jet engine, it can fly at over 400 knots — 50 percent faster than the turboprop-powered Reaper unmanned plane, and more than three times as quick as the Predator.
Best of all, it provides Kiyani a good excuse to do nothing : "I want to shoot it down, but it is stealth, so we can't even see it" (even though it is not truly "Stealth", only "stealthy")

I guess in TSP, hiding a terrorist is not a crime, or the whole of GHQ would be counting bars.

I guess it's not tail hook but just a line to tether the tail to the ground when parked.Gagan wrote:Has anyone noticed that the new UCAV has a tail hook allowing carrier borne operations.

Yep. Here's the quote from wiki:Has anyone noticed that the new UCAV has a tail hook allowing carrier borne operations.
The aircraft’s structure was designed with the flexibility to accommodate carrier suitable landing gear, tailhook, drag devices, and other provisions for carrier operations.[7]

Gentlemen,
Forgive me if this has been already discussed here.
Since the last few years we at BRF have been expecting a breakup of TSP. EVery year, after a major event/blast , we would cheer that this is the year when it will split. The last 5 years have seen the situation in TSP worsen dramatically . Several major incidents and minor incidents like the attack on ISI HQ, visiting dignitaries meeting the army directly, the attack on PNS Mehran, the Balochi struggle all point to one thing - the writ of the constitution and the state is being openly challenged. Now, does this not mean the TSP is already broken up? Are we expecting to see maps of new states to convince ourselves when in reality , incidents have already shown it has broken up and there are several new centres of power within the lands between western India and Afghanistan.

Re: Terrorist Islamic Republic of Pakistan (TSP): May 30, 20
I think we need to take a dive into the TSP psyche a bit, if we wish to entertain dreams of its break-up.
Some on BRF are of the view that the H&D of the Pakistani Army is all made up anyway and the host of times it has been given a kick in the face is sufficient evidence to say that it is only rhetoric and nothing more.
I believe the Pakistani Army is the main temporal instance, self-defined Pakistanis truly revere as the embodiment of their nationhood. As we know from deaf and dumb, they all love the Pakistani Army and curse the generals for not keeping the H&D of the Army flying high, every once in a while when the Pakistani Army get a kick in the teeth! Pakistanis seethe in impotence and fury at the American drone attacks, at TTP attacks, at the violation of their so-virginity. But in the end, Pakistanis hold on to the Pakistani Army, their Ghazi Lashkar, and renew their faith in it.
Sometimes we have even seen deaf-and-dumbers saying under embarrassment after Amir Khan's GUBO, that they'd rather be Indians. These temporary lapses in Pakistaniyat, divulge Paki psyche.
In fact, Pakistani Army and Pakistani So-virginity should face some cheer-haran everyday and a few major cheer-harans every month. These should come from 360° - from USA, from Europeans, from Arabs, from Iranians, from Afghans, from Bangladeshis, naturally from Indians and sometimes even from the Chinese, cases which can be magnified in the press. The Pakistanis, every once in a while should get an Indian punch in the face.
All this issue that if India attacks the Pakis they would all close shoulders and unite against India, it is all bogus. The trick is to get everybody to kick Pakistan, especially Afghanistan, Iran and USA, so that when India kicks them, they will seethe only so much more in anger. The Pakistani Army should be shown as an organization, that can be easily bullied and bought. We should never allow them to save face, e.g. when Zulfikar implored Indira to return the lands captured by India for otherwise it would be a severe loss of face for Pakistan; then Indira should have taken the opportunity to show Pakistan for the losers that they are. Every opportunity should be taken to belittle their face and echandee!
Once the Pakistani Army loses its preeminence in Pakistan, then Pakistan too falls apart.

Not one post i have seen over the years that says TSP will split this year. All folks here are pointing out with popcorn and beer is that Porkistan is inevitably beginning to show symptoms that are essential to the process of balkanization. The inevitability of that process has bee exposed. It will happen, maybe by November this year or November 2015, 18 or 20. Pakistan by it's very concept cannot undertake a course correction. It's impossible. Either India or Pakistan will exist. Both are concepts. Deep inside both know it. While the Indian concept is bound by Satyameva Jayate, the Paki concept is bound by Taqqiya Jayante. Which you'll back up is your choice. Law of Dharma dictates only one way..Truth alone shall triumph. Stick to it, the victories shall be yours. It is ordained.

Ahh Precisely. But like a divorced couple whose marriage exists on paper - map-lines are drawn nowadays by the UN. That is why I have whined and howled time and again at the role of this artificial entity called the UN which serves the interests of a few powers by bestowing national boundaries that they want on other nations. If someone says a boundary is disputed - then the boundary is disputed. If US recognises no boundary dispute then al iz vel.Neela wrote:Now, does this not mean the TSP is already broken up? And this is related to RajeshA's post
Rajesh the story that Packees will unite during an Indian attack dates from the 1965 war when I am told that poor ickle Packeestan was sitting and minding its own business when India attacked all of Pakistan got united. The "dream of unity" in Pakistan is exemplified by a stories of 1965. The India that Ayub Khan said would run at the sound of ginfire "attacked Pakistan" and was supported by China in their tarrel and deepel fliendship.RajeshA wrote: All this issue that if India attacks the Pakis they would all close shoulders and unite against India, it is all bogus. The real problem is the unification of the US and China in trying to preserve Pakistan in the face of an Indian attack. Anyone may change borders but it is the UN that rejects or recognizes those changes and puts them on official maps that are drawn for schoolchildren. The US, its allies and China constitute 80% of the UNSC that does this type of bullschidt.

A former Pakistan Navy commando arrested for PNS Mehran attack
Local Pakistani news accounts reported that Mr. Malik had been court martialed 10 years ago on charges that he had assaulted a senior colleague, and that his telephone had been tapped in 2008 after an attack on a naval academy in Lahore.
It was unclear precisely how Mr. Malik could have helped the naval-base attackers, who numbered at least four. But Pakistani officials have said the attackers could not have succeeded without advance knowledge. nice looking bird this avenger. lot of attention paid to IR stealth and above fuselage intake to hide engine from ground radar. probably lots of RAM coatings. however no F22/JSF style serrated edges for body panels and bay doors...indicating its not meant to penetrate and stick around against strong air defences...more to patrol troublesome munna all-lies.
it will serve its masters proudly, serving peace, love and brotherhood in NWFP.
