Jagan saar, aren't they building a ski jump at Dabolim? I think it was supposed to be the complete IAC / Vikramaditya landing deck, so that they could train take off and landings on an actual sized contraption.

No sign yet of anything similar coming up here, though these images are from january?

Gagan,

Se this http://maps.google.com/maps?t=h&hl=en&i ... 02401&z=19 . the taxiway that is to the north is the one you are talking about. if you take GE and look at historical imgery, it did not exist before 09. Moreover I remember seeing a presentation in one of the blogs - when the MiG-29Ks were inducted that indicated this was the ramp/ac simulator.

Jagan saar,

I think so too that it'll be an extension of this taxiway. Like the chinese have at one of their airports.

Chinese ski jump is at:
34°38'47.42"N 109°14'42.85"E

Some weird structures approximately 20 kms West of this. Two of which seems like huge Solar panel fields. Others are just plain weird.

Gentlemen, This was discussed in some other Dhagga too some time back, these are dummy air-fields built for bombing and straffing practice. just look around in GE, you would see multiple sites like these... there is actually a new site which has been built near by. the runways are pretty wide (almost 300 Ft, Khan style).

This is all PLAF practice sites / Bombing zones. my 0.00002 cents..

Spotted 2nos Il 38's in Jamnagar AFS in the latest update. Dabolim shows line up of Sea Harriers and on the other side 1 Mig 29K.
Also visible are the runways at Dilglipur and Campbell Bay, A&N islands.

I HAVE A PROBLEM. A BIG PROBLEM

Recently I formatted my PCand re-installed a lot of SW. I downloaded Goggle Earth but it is running VERY slowly. I have almost stopped using it.

What could be the problem ? May be I have made some settings which make GE at snail's pace.

A large number of the "defence experts" on BR, are also IT experts. can someone help ? I am going nuts.

Is PN making a new shipyard at 24.838932, 66.729702 ?
check the place in google earth, this structure has undergone expansion rapidly! seems to have a dredged channel too! for missile boats or subs?
Is PN making another new sub in Karachi or just refurbishing old agosta at 24.829458,66.971905? Note the missing zarrar class boat, both havent been seen weaponized at anytime, not even the main gun.
note deployment of zulfi class boat at ormara along with a missile boat and a patrol boat at 25.201738,64.674379 . Also PNS ahsan nearby would make this into a better base than krachi. No such deployment at gwadar or pasni or jiwani etc.

Google street view Astra crash in India: Real or gimmick (Video) - Rushlane

Wondering is it just a stunt to prove that Google maps covers every corner of India, or being playing "useful idiots" to some intelligence agencies or barging move to PRC for favorable conditions.

can anyone identify the plane at 24°50'28.81"N 66°43'40.01"E in google earth, 24.841364,66.727741 in gmaps. looks to me to be an orion or atlantique!
It is close to the base i posted previously viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6389&p=1307631#p1307631 at 24.838932, 66.729702, which has undergone a lot of work!

I agree, after looking at the older and better views, it does look like Atlantique, v similar to the one at PNS Mehran at 24.870917, 67.108183.
One thing is for sure, that is an upcoming naval base. That plane has been there for some time, so it is probably for display and PN doesnt have many birds! So this place is important. I think the small channels dug may be used for sub bases.
Naval experts can comment on it better.

Can anyone help ID this place. Looks like a airstripe by its dimensions but has some kind of structures on it.

Check the location 25.894878, 93.412363 on GE.

This is close to the town of Diphu in Assam. Checked Google Uncle but didn't find any mention of any old airfield.

It looks like an air strip used by Army Aviation for UAVs... If you scan around the location you would see structures ?!?!? connect the dots.

We can see the dredged area as the carrier (USS Enterprise - CVN 65) leaves Dubai - Jebel Ali port.
Notice also the intercepter fast craft that accompany the carrier, atleast one of them will have the harbour master to guide the Carrier out of the port waters into open sea.

The Pakistanis are building some kind of a naval base west of Karachi. Possibly covered tunnels to house subs. These covered tunnels might be like the Germans had to protect their U boats from aerial bombings.
The sea coast next to Karachi has high cliffs that border the sea all along the coast, they may be trying to utilize these
