Any idea why 2000 was skipped for hosting AI? Did they fear aircrafts would stop flying due to Y2K?

Aero India 96 and 98 were held in December. AI 2000 should have been December but was postponed by 2 months to Feb 2001 because of weather. I think it was decided that the weather would be better for flying in February

^Bahadur - The mean, rugged street-fighter. The survivor of many down and dirty brawls. Battered, dented, but unconquered. Pure metal.

Which is why, ALWAYS open the image & read the photo details, especially the Photographer's Remarks:
Quote:
http://www.airliners.net/photo/2241549/L/
A MiG-27M "Bahadur" of No. 22 Sqn 'Swifts' towing the 'IRON FIST-13' banner (note cable attached to ventral fin) to mark the start of exercise Iron Fist 2013 at the Pokhran range. This exercise was formerly known as 'Vayu Shakti.'

In most cases, all the info you seek will all be in there unless ofcourse its a cross border tasveer

It's a K9 SPH. Check out the position of the fume extractor, the camouflage and the roadwheels as well as the turret 'lumps and bumps':

L&T is partnering Samsung Techwin for the tracked SPH requirement. This one is still wearing ROK Army camo.

Those are Mahindra Jeeps, used by the Recce Troop in every Armoured Regiment. They have 7 Veh/ Recce Troop. These operate ahead of the Lead Sabre Squadron and provide Close Reconnaissance/Route Planning to the Armoured Regiment along it's axis of advance.

Never seen these helmets worn by the Indian soldiers. Are they specially ordered for training exercises with foreign forces so that out folks don't look vintage.

^^^ sure... we are wearing US gear for exercise ??; seems unlikely that we will loan gear from US - and if its happening its shameful IMHO. We can afford a good gear for our braves
