This is happening to Hindus, very similar to what happened to them in TSP. So Hindus don't have security in their own homeland. They are persecuted everywhere. This is nothing but social engineering. Only 4000 Hindus? only 3000 tigers remain in India and they are considered endangered species. So Kashmiri Hindus living in the valley are endangered too, and we don't care.

5 soldiers, 2 militants killed in Indian Kashmir
SRINAGAR, India (AP) — Two militants carrying guns and grenades attacked a group of paramilitary soldiers Wednesday morning on the outskirts of the capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir, leaving five soldiers and both militants dead and 10 more people wounded, a police official said. It was the bloodiest militant attack in the capital in years.

The two militants, who had their weapons hidden in a sports bag, mixed with a group of local boys playing cricket near a school compound for the children of police officials before lobbing grenades at the paramilitary troops, said S.A Mujtaba, a senior police officer.

The attack on CRPF camp shows a renewed vigor in terrorist activities. After the successful RR CI grid, most of the news were about encounters in upper reaches. Is this encounter a result of reduced foot-print of CRPF to make satisfy Omar Abdullah's wishes? Sounds like a Fidayeen attack.

Past few weeks there have been frequent demands for AFSPA removal and have been debates in uNDTV.

I don't know when do Indian voters realize the damage caused by termites and get rid of them.

Legal gurus?

Can Burkha Dutt of NDTV be sued for giving 'fiat accompli' to terrorists by saying that sudden resurfacing of terrorism in JK is because of Afjal Guru hanging?

Earlier NDTV, along with other media houses, justified terror attacks on India in view of Babri Masjid demolition, which itself was a terror symbol on Hindu majority of India?

Srinagar attack shocker: Omar Abdullah absents himself from CRPF jawans funeral
The funeral ceremony for the five CRPF jawans killed in the Srinagar attack by militants turned into a controversy today as Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah absented himself from the proceedings, an act that infuriated the rank and file.

Loud calls of 'Where is Omar Abdullah' were made as the jawans coffins, wrapped in the tri-colour, were carried through the streets by their grieving comrades.

From Rediff
17:03 CRPF rushing to donate blood, pelted with stones: Jammu and Kashmir government today said the CRPF men rushing for blood donation to their injured colleagues came under attack by the group of stone pelters and opened fire in which one youth was killed.

"Men of 73 BN of CRPF were on way to SKIMS to donate blood for the CRPF personnel, who had been injured in the Bemina attack earlier in the day," Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Mir Saifullah today informed the Legislative Assembly today.

"They were reportedly attacked by an alleged group of stone pelters at Saidpora Eidgah, Srinagar, the minister said. The CRPF men retaliated and opened the fire in which 35-year-old Altaf Ahmad Mir was killed, he said.

After years of nonviolent protest, could Kashmiris return to the gun?
A pro-Pakistan militant group claimed responsibility for an attack today on a paramilitary compound that killed five Indian police.
Mullah Parvaiz Bikhari
The attack that also injured five other personnel of the federal Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was claimed by Kashmir’s largest pro-Pakistan militant group, the Hizbul Mujahideen. Kashmiri leaders are warning that the region's youth may be taking to arms again after their transition to nonviolent mass street protests against Indian rule largely went unheeded by New Delhi and the international community.he Kashmir valley has witnessed a wave of protests, crippling business shutdowns called by the separatists, and curfew restrictions since Feb. 9 when a Kashmiri Muslim Mohammad Afzal Guru was hanged and buried in a high security prison in New Delhi.Mr. Guru was convicted for his role in the deadly attack on India’s parliament in 2001 in which 10 people died. Many in Kashmir and among Indian civil society contend that Guru did not receive a fair trial. The protests over Guru’s secretive execution lead to the killings of four persons at the hands of Indian forces in Kashmir. On Wednesday, Indian paramilitaries killed another man when they came under attack by stone-throwing protesters demanding the return of Guru’s body to his family in Kashmir, police said. However, witnesses contested the police claim saying CRPF soldiers killed Altaf Ahmed Wani when they fired at him from a moving armored vehicle. “There was no protest or stone throwing happening in the area, he was killed in cold blood in retaliation to the militant attack earlier in the day,” said a witness, who declined to give his name for fear of his own safety.Wednesday’s attack on the Indian paramilitaries is also being seen as an indication of a return to armed militancy in the territory. The Hizbul Mujahideen militants came disguised as cricket players onto a sports field, hiding their weapons in the cricketing gear bags they were carrying, according to the CRPF spokesperson in Srinagar.

The Central government may temporarily stay its plan of pulling back about 3,000 CRPF personnel from Kashmir Valley in view of the Srinagar attack.

Srinagar, Mar 14: Even as paramilitary CRPF rebutted reports that its men were unarmed when the Fidayeen attack took place at Bemina, on the outskirts of Srinagar Wednesday, legal experts said the paramilitary force is bound to follow the directives of the state government while dealing with law and order situation.
Talking to Greater Kashmir over phone, Valley-based Inspector General of CRPF V S Yadav termed the reports that its men were unarmed as “baseless rumors” and “imaginary”. :rotfl:
We have a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and that was followed. One-third of the jawans of the concerned - CRPF - company were armed, one third were carrying the riot gear and one-third had lathis,” Yadav said.
“How can I allow them without arms; they always carry arms, whatever the circumstances may be,” he said.
He claimed CRPF personnel are exercising maximum restrain during law and order duties to avoid “any causality”.
The assertion comes at a time when some Delhi-based news channels were running repeated reports during the whole day on Thursday that paramilitary force personnel had been made “sitting ducks” by the State Government by directing them not to carry fire-arms.
Even today, at the wreath-laying ceremony of the deceased troopers at Police Control Room here, some CRPF men voiced their resentment against the government for “arming them with lathis”.
But the assertion of the IG CRPF has raised question marks on the media reports and “claims of CRPF men”.
Pertinently, following the media reports last month that Jammu and Kashmir Police had directed CRPF personnel not to carry fire-arms following the killing of a youth at Watargam, Rafiabad, IG CRPF told this newspaper: “Directions about not to carry firearms during law and order situation are in place since years, but whenever the situation demands, the arms can be made available.”Meanwhile, legal experts told Greater Kashmir that there is no legal infirmity if the state government passes directions to the central force as their role is confined to provide assistance to police and civil administration.
“In law and order duties, armed forces including CRPF have to work under the control and supervision of the civil administration,” senior High Court lawyer Riyaz Khawar said, adding; “Even during Governor’s rule they have to abide by the instructions, directions and Standard Operating Procedure set up by the government while dealing with law and order problems.”
Shame on CRPF. BSF refused to comply with Unified Command Directives. What did CRPF do? They allowed their boys to be butchered for Afzal Guru's hanging. To add insult to injury CRPF IG is lying that our dead boys were armed, and capable of protecting themselves from Paki/KM/IM jihadis.

^^^ These Kashmiri Muslims and their leadership is seditious. Why are they given so much importance in taking decisions relating to national security and turn our boys into sitting ducks just to humour these traitors? Their biryani buddy Nehru is no longer around -- it is about time these Kashmiri people were shown their place.

This clears teh mess as to who in CRPF ordered the partial disarmament of troops in insurgency zones.

its was the CRPF IG VS Yadav to appease the J&K State govt directive to all police forces. Incidentally after the two J&K policemen were killed by terrorists the orders were not rescinded.

In a perfect world this man would resign for being morally accountably. But by issuing the denial he thinks he is not responsible. Nor will the MHA,who are the real controllers, dismiss or transfer him .

ramana, I believe the IG would have disarmed his men on orders of the MHA. The IG's career graph is determined entirely by the Union Home Ministry, not by the J&K government. The primary guilty party here is the Union Home Minister who gave the orders i.e. either Chidambaram or Shinde. Chidambaram, as you know, wants to disapply the AFSPA. Nevertheless, the IG should have given his advice in writing opposing the order, even if he had carried it out, as required by our democratic power structures.

Barkha Dutt essentially wants the Indian state to negotiate and compromise with terrorists who threaten its integrity with armed force. This time she feigns concern for the slain CRPF men to push her "let's negotiate with and surrender to terrorists" line. Truly she is awful and manipulative.
We don't care enough

The state’s main opposition party, Mehbooba Mufti’s PDP, has led an aggressive debate inside the assembly over how the Afzal Guru execution has the capacity to rupture a fragile peace. Once again, no keen observer of the state’s politics will disagree with the legitimacy of that concern. But then, can’t the otherwise stormy assembly sessions find any space to debate the first ‘fidayeen’ (suicide) attack in three years? And shouldn’t there be a robust and transparent debate in the assembly around what the standard operating procedure should be for these men now that only 1/3rd of the deployed forces are armed after a spate of civilian deaths in firing during street protests?

The absence of sustainable negotiated solutions and dialogue initiatives — whether in J&K or in India’s Naxal tracts — means that the jawan will continue to be cannon fodder for political failures. And it will take the next crisis or the next militant strike to bring back the focus on the foot soldier. The empty tokenism of our collective hand-wringing is just that. Unlike in America, there’s no official censorship policy to blame for placing an emotional distance between us and the death of our soldiers. Even worse, we just don’t care enough.

Yesterday Delhi police arrested a terrorist, today undietv investigated and declared him innocent.

Delhi Police claims wanted terrorist caught; not true, says Kashmir
Is Sayed Liyaqat Shah, arrested by the Delhi Police for allegedly planning a terror attack in Delhi, innocent? And, the weapons allegedly recovered from a non-descriptive guesthouse in the heart of New Delhi planted?

While Delhi Police continues to claim that Shah was indeed a terrorist planning a strike, facts culled out by NDTV from Jammu and Kashmir which is the home state of Shah, New Delhi and Sanauli Check Post on the Indo-Nepal border, indicate otherwise.
With so many anti-nationals in media, politics, bureaucracy, judiciary, Its certainly a divine intervention that is holding up country without breaking apart. :(

Doctors voice alarm at ‘non-lethal’ weapons in Kashmir
Doctors say such stories are increasingly common in Kashmir where government forces use an array of ‘non-lethal’ weapons to maintain security.

Scores if not hundreds of people have been injured by weapons including marbles fired from slingshots, pellet guns and the so-called pepper grenades which are packed with chemicals and a capsaicinoid concentrate.

Exact figures are impossible to compile as many victims do not report their injuries for fear of being charged with rioting.

Although the weapons are meant to target mainly youthful protestors, doctors say children and the elderly are particularly vulnerable from the effects of the chemicals contained in the pepper grenades.

Hospital sources in Srinagar say at least three recent deaths have been due to the effects of the pepper gas, including that of Hajira Begum, a 60-year-old woman, on March 8.

Amnesty International has demanded an independent inquiry into the deaths and called for an immediate halt to its use.
The death of 120 unarmed people during protests in 2010 led to a rethink of tactics by the security forces, including the introduction of pepper gas on the basis that it was not deadly.

But some experts have argued that it is illegal as India is a signatory to an international chemical weapons protocol. Even the government-appointed State Human Rights Commission has called for a complete halt to its use.

This is a result of our coward netas at the helm who tie down the Army's hands in responding to Paki barbarity. As a result even these rats think they can get away after doing something like this. I hope the Army burns down pillar & post to find this inbred Arabic kutta and hang him by his balls & then skin him alive with the Pakis watching. Bury him with a dead Pig, with my sympathies to the poor animal.

Can't find this place Chowki Choran on Google maps. The route is Jammu -> Akhnoor-> Rajauri -> Poonch . The highway passes quite near the LoC. But if the terrorists managed to capture and torture him on this route, it reflects quite badly on the security situation there. That route is generally very safe

The British knew that the Islamic lashkar and tribes are entering India and attacking Kashmir in 1947. India and Indians were left to their own fate by the British and left to be killed and destroyed.

This is similar to the UK and western countries funding Pak govt and the jihad terrorist machinery after 911. They take advantage of differences in the people, culture and country in asia and especially south asia and mock the people.
