Garooda that is a classic crush injury. The only thing that is missing is tyre marks on the lower chest and upper abdomen - but the angle is tangential so they may not be visible in this view, but those areas are pale as blood was squeezed out of them and did not flow back since he died.

The splits in the flesh are like a cockroach going "pop" when you step on it. There is so much pressure from front to back that the sides split open - so the split flesh on the sides is a common sight after a tyre runs over a human. Shear forces can also tear skin as the tyre passes over. Because the blood is squeezed out - it has to go somewhere - so the veins and small vessels in the skin of the face and neck rupture causing bleeding under the skin leading to purple discoloration of the face and neck. The lower body has a greater capacity than the head and neck to accommodate blood squeezed out by the tyre so blue bruising below is less likely.
I'll take your professional words for it Doc. That would make more sense. The position seems more on the upper torso thus the rupture on the side and not the lower body such as intestines spewing out the back door if the tires were any lower? My knee jerk reaction was perhaps the most lowest part on the vehicle (transmission cover or engine oil pan, drive axle(s) or possibly muffler). Images are out there with him on the ground and the vehicle still at the premises. However no image(s) has been posted after he was driven over.

Report of explosions in a MA neighborhood from March 2013.

Homemade_Bombs
On March 12, police found two unexploded bombs in a wooded area near Pine Street and Tower Hill Drive.

Captain Jim Gallagher says they want to get to the bottom of who is making them.

“They were simply small cardboard tubes, they are filled with what appears to be flash powder, they are sealed at the end with wax and they have a fuse inserted,” Gallagher told WBZ NewsRadio 1030. “We’re concerned they are able to get the components on the internet fairly readily and that’s what’s making it easy.”

Some of the devices have gone off and while the homemade bombs are small, they are powerful enough to kill someone.

“Our concern is that there could be others that we’re not finding that someone else could encounter, a child for instance,” Gallagher said.

“When they’re contained like that, they have a considerable impact. I believe they are large enough to be fatal if handled the wrong way.”

I did speculate this. I'm sure it will be used for justification at somepoint to push for the drones above the US skies.

UAS_Sales_Pitch
In the wake of the Boston bombings, the president of the largest Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) organization wasted no time in pushing for drones - as some predicted those in the industry would.

Michael Toscano, president of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International, said UASs could have provided critical situational awareness for first responders and law enforcement in Boston.

"UAS could be an important tool in the tool kit for first responders in the event of an emergency," he assured US News and World Report. "Whether it is in response to a natural disaster or a tragedy like we saw in Boston, UAS can be quickly deployed to provide first responders with critical situational awareness in areas too dangerous or difficult for manned aircraft to reach. Our industry is working to develop technologies to provide first responders with the best tools possible to do their jobs safely as they work to protect our communities."

This came as no surprise to those worried about the loss of civil liberties and privacy concerns with the use of drones.

Shahid Buttar, the Executive Director of the Bill of Rights Defense Committee, predicted this type of action immediately following the bombing. He told Wisconsin Reporter it was only a matter of time before someone used the event to call for drones to help in these types of situations.

"I do fear the events in Boston, that someone will say, 'If we would have had a drone over the finish line we would be able to track back the footage and see who it was. It will not surprise me when it happens," Buttar said hours after the tragedy.

As CNSNews.com previously reported, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) predicts that 10,000 drones could be in the skies by 2020. For now, Congress has asked the FAA to write regulations on civil operation of small unmanned aircraft systems in the national airspace and submit them by 2015.

The FAA has issued 1,428 licenses to police, universities, and federal agencies since 2007- a number far higher than previously known. Of these, 327 are still listed as active. It is estimated $94 billion will be spent over the course of 10 years for Unmanned Aircraft Systems.

Series of Images from the house where the shooting took place outside.
I have pasted the posters comments above the images. I had posted a small clip
yesterday I believe. It wasn't clear but I believe it was from the same person with poor quality
video (possibly wasn't sure about uploading? or format issues?).

This is the dude that took the images and possibly very little footage outside his house from the 3rd floor.

You can go to the link too. Shooter_Pics_In_Action

Here are the two brothers taking cover behind the black Mercedes SUV and shooting towards Watertown Police officers. (Taken at 12:46:11AM)
Image

The shooters were also driving the green sedan on the left. They had the back passenger door open and were going back into the car where they had additional supplies (assumingly, more ammunition and explosives). They also had backpacks at their feet where they also had additional supplies.
Image

This is a view from the west-facing window in my bedroom and at the end of the block (Laurel St.) you can see multiple police vehicles. These vehicles were about 75-80 yards from the shooters. (Taken at 12:46:25AM)
Image

Here it’s clear to see the brothers taking aim and firing on the officers. (Taken at 12:47:57AM)
Image

This is a zoomed in view from the last image. The red circle highlights the pressure cooker bomb that was used just moments after this photo was taken. The use of this explosive created an enormous cloud of smoke that covered the entire street. While the street was still cloudy with smoke one of the brothers started running down the street towards the officers, while still engaging them in gunshots. As he got closer to the officers, within 10 -15 yards of them he was taken down. From my vantage point I did not see whether he was tackled to the ground or brought down by gunshots
Image

As the one brother was running toward the officers the second got back into the SUV, turned it around in the street and proceeded to accelerate at the vehicle barricade. This image shows the black SUV charging the officer vehicles. (Taken 12:50:57AM)
Image

This is a zoom-in from the last image and the red circle highlights where one of the brothers was taken down and still laying in the street. The black SUV proceeded to accelerate towards the officers and drove in between the two cars at the top of the picture. The SUV side swiped both cars taking out doors and windows and ultimately broke through the vehicle barricade and continued driving west on Laurel St. This was the last I saw of the black SUV.
Image

This image was taken from the east-facing window. As soon as the black SUV had left the street officers rushed toward the green sedan and the spot of the shooting. As soon as officers got to the vehicle they started alerting all others on scene that there were “IEDs” on the street and for everyone examining the scene to clear the entire street. Also pictured at the bottom of the image is a Watertown Police SUV that had crashed in our driveway at the start of the gunfight and had many of its windows shot out. (Taken 12:57:52AM)
Image

At the bottom of this image is the blast mark from the pressure cooker bomb that exploded in the middle of the street. At the top of the image, the bright light is a bomb detecting robot that was moving toward the blast mark. (Taken at 1:20:10AM)
Image

Here bomb squad personnel inspect the blast mark of the large explosion. (Taken 1:39:22AM)
Image

Here heavily armed agents are still in search of the suspect on Laurel St. (Taken 2:14:54AM)
Image

Here is the bomb detecting robot inspecting the vehicle from the back right passenger seat.
Image

After shooting had stopped my roommate found a bullet hole that penetrated his west-facing wall and continued to pierce through his desk chair. His room is on the 2nd floor corner of the house, closest to the street, with west and south facing walls
Image

The bomb squad had finally inspected the entire vehicle and all the backpacks beside it and have cleared the area. (Taken 5:45:25AM)
Image

Armed Agents searching and evacuating all homes on Laurel St. They evacuated ours shortly after this photo was taken. (Taken at 6:01:17AM)

A hard hitting piece in First Post: http://www.firstpost.com/world/boston-b ... 20971.html
Of course, it is standard practice to talk about exclusion as the defining characteristic of India, but is this really so? Can a country that has been home to every ethnicity, every linguistic group, every race, every religion be called exclusivist?

Sure, our caste system has been a closed one, but inclusiveness and exclusivity have two dimensions: one is the protective dimension of the in-group, where you put ties with kith and kin on a higher relationship plane, which tends to exclude people from other castes and communities; but there is a broader inclusiveness in Indian society which grants all distinctive groups the right to their own identities. This has been our reality long before Europeans discovered America.

At the basic level, India is as inclusive as America – and Americans are as racist as us when it comes to dealing with “out-groups” – in our case Dalits and Muslims, and in America’s case, non-whites and Muslims.
The answer probably lies in this. The other side of hyphenated identities is that loyalties can sometimes be divided. Varshney extols the virtues of America’s hyphenated identities (Chechen-Americans, Irish-Americans, etc), but forgets to note that it is not the identity that is the problem, but the exaggerated sense of victimhood that is linked to those identities. This is what creates resentment, alienation and violent behaviour in some.
The need to convert your spouse to your own religion is a form of exclusion – and more relevant to Islam than other religions. If you don’t convert, you don’t belong is the message.
The statement clearly shows how Varshney has virtually bought into the American belief that if you are in America, you can’t be a bigot – when this cannot be the case. You can be a bigot in the best of environments, and a decent human being in the worst of circumstances. The Jewish diaspora was not bigoted anywhere before the creation of Israel. Now we know what they have become when faced with hostile neighbours on all sides.

The same holds for America. Over the past decade, more people – both White and colour – have been killed by White terrorists than Muslim radicals. We have had a Gurdwara shooting in Wisconsin last August where many Sikhs were killed – but few Americans questioned the nature of emergent White/Christian jihadism. They assumed that there is no bigotry in White America. They are in denial. The effort is clearly to show these extremists as being the result of personality maladjustment. Varshney has done the same for the Boston bombers.

This is not to rubbish the real inclusiveness and openness of American society, its great institutions, its ability to have a truly independent justice system, and freedom of speech, but one has only to scratch below the surface of sophistication to find the concealed bigotry in some quarters.

This is not related to Boston. I just heard the stock market tanked because of an AP tweet. The tweet is about the WH being attacked. AP account was hacked. The market recovered immediately when they realized the tweet is false. Anyone seen 'Olympus has fallen'? In this movie a brutal terrorist attacks the White House and takes President, VP and Sec of State hostage.

The effect of social media on events seems to have gone out of control. Just one false tweet and the market tanks.

Incredible. IIRC inspire magazine publisher was killed in drone strike with Awlaki another American citizen. So the magazine was only available for a short time and somehow these jihadi’s found it and managed to translate it and acquire the materials to pull this off.

The dead give away is the increasingly racist, bigoted and Islamic triumphalism nonsense older bro started swearing by….

Look for the ex-wife to give stirring defense to the fools actions and defend her stupid choices to the max. She knows more esp. since she kept up the hadien appearance even after divorce. She was even living with him it looks like after divorce. Tells me the divorce was for convenience only to firewall her from what he was doing.

“Now is the time to bring all of the 11 million out of the shadows and find out who they are. Most of them are here to work, but we may find some terrorists in our midst.”

“How can individuals evade authority and plan such attacks on our soil?” Grassley, the panel’s top Republican said. “How can we beef up security checks on people who wish to enter the United States? How do we ensure that people who wish to do us harm are not eligible for benefits under the immigration laws, including this new bill before us?”
Something India needs to learn how to even these questions towards our neighborhood.
“I want to know how the FBI or the system dropped the ball when he was identified as a potential terrorist,” Graham said on CNN.
“The fact that we could not track him has to be fixed,” Graham said. “It’s people like this that you don’t want to let out of your sight and this was a mistake. I don’t know if our laws are insufficient or the FBI failed, but we’re at war with radical Islamists and we need to up our game.”

CNN last night had a video on the effects of pzr cooker device.
http://www.cnn.com/video/?hpt=hp_t2#/vi ... -bombs.cnn
Slow it down and watch in slow motion.

The key fact is the debris travels at 1000-2000 ft/sec that is many times over speed of osund. So folks get hit before they hear the blast.

And note that in India the Paki terrorists use Ammonium Nitrate(high explosive) and Al (more frangible) pzr cookers which are even more deadly.

the sad thing is despite being the victims of these kinds of IEDs no none and I repeat no one(Govt nor the media) in India has publicised the dangers of these type of IED mubarraks.

In B'lore blast the sound was heard 2km away and it used Ammonium Nitrate packed with nails and near the gas tank of the motorbike which also became debris.

Five key questions
1. Did the suspects act alone?

Preliminary interviews with surviving suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev suggest that he and his older brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, were self-radicalized jihadists, not members of a terrorist group, a U.S. government source said.

Hospitalized since his capture on Friday and unable to speak, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is communicating with investigators by writing and nodding.

Tsarnaev has indicated that his older brother, not any international terrorist group, directed last week's deadly attack in Boston, the government source said.

He has conveyed that Tamerlan Tsarnaev's motivation stemmed from jihadist thought and the idea that Islam is under attack, so jihadists need to fight back, the source said Monday. Authorities might never have all the answers about Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, who died after an encounter with police early Friday.

Nevertheless, the possibility that the Tsarnaev brothers were members of a terrorist group has not been ruled out.

like they say resistance is futile, in our case repentance is futile. it is disheartening when mobs pile up to protest against delhi rapes, in which case the Gov has means to do something.

minimum they can do is or at least media do, is get these video and show it on public channel. i am thinking, we are bound to react more than proactively think. in addition, any amount of reaction now-a-days falls into deaf years or you may be arrested for disturbing peaceful operations of the evil forces.

The odd thing is Elder T left clues a plenty: visiting radical mosques, social media messages, driver license at fireworks shop, telling the car jacking victim, but took precautions at the attack site: dark glasses, dark cap head low most of the time. The younger T too left clues more due to apparent brashness: rakish white cap, face uncovered, twitter account, incriminating clothes and firework in dorm room, uncovered face at ATM etc.
Both the fellows wanted to be caught. They had no escape plan nor did they lie low. And the last ride was more from "Wind and the Willows!" Was it a millienial/qayamat urge?

Among all this is the father and his side of the family that detests the religious radicalization the elder T is going through. I guess they didnt see what was happening with the younger T.

Then there is the mother who seems to have encouraged the turn to religious radicalitzation of the elder T to prevent his "Westernization vices":women, smoking, drinks etc. She didn't count on it making him hardcore Islamist who agonizes over US role in Afghanistan and Iraq. The elder T is in constant contact with her even while the last run is underway.

Another odd thing is the mother's insistence of federal agencies in communication with the elder T. And their denials.

CBS News:
Police think the brothers killed Officer for his gun
..Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev only had one real gun and one pellet gun. Investigators believe because the officer's holster had a locking system, they apparently couldn't get the gun out.....

....
It appears as if Dzhokhar Tsarnaev did not have a gun in the boat. So how did the shooting start there?

The issue goes to what the police were perceiving. One officer had the high ground and saw the tarp on the boat flip up and said he saw a hand come out with an object in it. He didn't think it was a gun, he thought Tsarnaev was about to throw another bomb. He fired a couple times.

Other officers who were just arriving, saw the tarp flip up and heard gun fire and apparently believed it was Tsarnaev firing out, so they laid down covering fire at that boat until the incident commander said cease fire.
Unbelivebale. They had a pellet gun and a hand gun. So what about the long rifle?

Also how could DT shoot himself in the throat as was suggested?

The answer is OT here. Are you referring to India?

If you are looking for 1 or 0 answers you are right. In truth not all Muslims carry those attitudes to the same degree. The upbringing in its strictest sense would do that, and if it was that effective there would be no kafirs at all today in any Islamic country. If it was ineffective there would be few Muslims. Its effectiveness can be judged by the fact that there are over 1 billion Muslims - a huge percentage of whom involve in going and killing others because Islam is at risk.

Percentage wise the number of Muslims killing others in the name of religion in the 1945 to 2013 time period is higher thn the number of people of other religions killing in the name of their religion. A few centuries ago Christianity probably held the record - but when it stopped, "secular" killers like Hitler, communism and Pol Pot/Idi Amin seemed to rule the roost.

Islam never disappeared from the list of causes - it has been there all the time and it is showing up.

I don't think anyone, not even Muslims can dispute that this is happening as can be judged by the social media reaction "Please let the Boston bomber not be Muslim" Well they were/are Muslim and did it for Islam. So the fact that people are killing for Islam is not in doubt. What has never ever been addressed as research is what it it about Islam that does this. My post merely cited reasons that I believe are true. I did not actually say that they are true for 100% of Muslim families 100% of the time.

In the absence of formal research percentages are difficult to compute. But empirically, at a global level it is evident that more Muslims are killing in the name of Islam than any other religious group.

may be the bros names does not sound islamic enough to cause alarm to FBI early warnings, in boston case. the interesting thing is internet bomb making inputs, and investigation claims that they have no contract with terrorists.. now that is funny.. 'cause they themselves are terrorists, and why they need to contract any group..

the boston case purely and simply puts the mother of all black mark and verifies and validates islam aids terror. these bros had no contact with any terror org, and how come the religion helped them to do so?

I have stopped caring what the US thinks about Islamic radicalism. It is their headache. But I think we can learn as we monitor the progress of immigration and then a sense of grievance and entitlement among second generation children of immigrant Muslims leading to a fight for Islam. This has happened in Britain. It is happening in Canada. It will happen in the US as well. I will have chai biskoot and watch chuckling to myself at all the silly things that have been told to me about how the US is so inclusive, so wealthy and so good that turd world nations need to look and learn. I am looking and learning.

You can be as inclusive as you like but if your immigrant's family think the world must be handed to Allah's followers on a platter and hold a grievance that not handing the world to them that way that way is being against Allah - then shame on you for imagining that wealth and inclusiveness are all that humans need.

Recall the many warning signals about David Headley aka Daoud Gilani? Even Headley's wife turned him in and said he was training with LeT. What did US do nothing!
Read the 9/11 commission report. Again numerous reports about ME origin strangers learning to fly to take off and not bothering to learn to land. Again no action.

In mid 80s terrorists were learning war games in forest areas.

See the similarities?

I think in all these cases there is an underlying assumption that these folks are being prepared for activities abroad with plausible deniablity.

So there is a pattern to ignore potential terrorists if they think they are acting on someone else outside their ecosphere.

BTW many of the initial stories are incorrect:
Only one real gun with them
Jauhar was unarmed. He couldn't have shot himself in the throat even though Shiv thinks pellet gun will do.
The elder was interrogated and said they were acting together only.
Elder was not run over by the younger brother.

If the folks dont watch it, it will become a new paradigm to emulate for the terrorists.

The only reason for Jauhar to charge towards the elder one would be to give him cover, but he was already fallen after his charge towards the police, if not dead at that point as per stories told so far. Very likely that the elder was shot dead already in the exchange of gun fire.

If the elder was run over, it is very likely a police vehicle which did it perhaps while trying to pin him down without trying to kill him to attempt a capture. But things do go wrong and not as per plans under such circumstances.

If the elder was jobless and younger was in college, then who paid for their lifestyle and expenses. The elder one's wife or her family. That might explain why the younger one was under the spell of his brother. He had no choice if that is true, even if he wanted out though there is no clear evidence yet that he was only a reluctant partner in crime.

I think some of the stories about what exactly happened will change when the dust settles.
