I don't think he is in Clifton or another house next to Karachi Airport.
The ISI will move him around like they moved the sheikh around.

In fact, the Sheikh was a lesser asset to the Pakistani deep state than bhai is. Bhai is the cornerstone for their india activities.

Consider:
1. Bhai has bollywood in his fingers, via financing etc.
2. Bhai has a HUGE chunk of the real estate trade in India's financial capital and beyond.
3. Bhai can provide shelter to sleeper cells in India
4. Bhai has some very crooked, and very very prominent politicians and babus in his pocket, because they have used him to transfer money via hawala
5. Bhai has investments in a host of businesses, airlines, etc etc

What was the sheikh in comparision to the fauj hain ji? The sheikh's value paled in comparision to bhai's.

While people starve in South Panjab/Sindh, human rights abuses continue against 40% of the population, bankrupt Pakistan remains admirably focused on the essentials:

SSridhar wrote:Joint Action with US Proposed to Nab Dawood Ibrahim: Shinde - ToI
The Indian government has proposed joint action with the United States to arrest fugitive gangster and country's most wanted terrorist, Dawood Ibrahim, Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde said here on Monday.

"We have arrested some most wanted terrorists (of late) and have killed a few on the border. As far as Dawood (Ibrahim) is concerned, we are in touch with (US agency) the FBI," Shinde said, talking to reporters here [Mumbai].

"There is already a red corner notice (against Dawood Ibrahim). We have proposed a joint action with the US (to arrest him). US Attorney General Eric Holder has also agreed to this," he added.

Indian intelligence agencies have claimed for long that the gangster is living in Pakistan.
I wonder what deal was cut in the backend (if any) to make such an announcement?

Pakistan’s India obsession

A few years ago, during a discussion on Pakistan’s identity at Forman Christian College, the then Vice-Rector, Dr Marcia Grant, remarked that perhaps Pakistan’s identity was ‘Not India’. While almost all the other people there, mainly Pakistanis, shrugged off the suggestion, I always thought that the brilliant Dr Grant had hit the nail on its head.

From its inception, Pakistan has been simply obsessed with India. Like the neglected twin, Pakistan has always looked at its larger, and now more prosperous, neighbour for comparison. For Pakistan, India was the ‘other’ and had to be reacted against. Hence, just because India celebrates its independence day on August 15, Pakistan has to show it one up and celebrate it a day earlier; just because India has nuclear weapons, Pakistan needs them too; just because the US signed a civil nuclear agreement with India, Pakistan needs the same deal too and so on. It seems that Pakistan’s existence is almost inextricably tied with an eternal competition with India, no matter what the cost to its exchequer and people.

That said, some of Pakistan’s obsession is not unwarranted. India did try to throttle Pakistan in 1947-48, especially by blocking Pakistan’s due share of sterling and rupee reserves; it did cut off Pakistan’s canal waters in 1948; and it did help the Bengali secessionists to achieve independence in 1971 and inflicted a crushing defeat on Pakistan. That much, and more, is true. However, we must also remember that it is the same India that signed the Indus Water Treaty in 1960, giving Pakistan three rivers which it could have easily retained; it is the same India that did not occupy Pakistan in 1971 when it could have; and it is the same India whose prime minister visited Pakistan on ‘Bus diplomacy’ in 1999, when he had no real need for it. The same India has managed to be an enemy and an accommodating neighbour.

I come from a military dominated family. My father fought for the country in the Second World War and then worked in the Pakistan Movement and a large number of my father’s side of the family is either in the army or the police. Hence, September 6, Defence Day, has always been an important patriotic day for us. While I will save comment on Ayub Khan’s exemplary spin in 1965 for another day, what has recently intrigued me is that we rarely take the name ‘India’ during programmes/events on September 6. We usually just say ‘enemy country’ and leave the listeners to know that we mean India. It is as if ‘India’ and ‘enemy’ are synonymous. This is symptomatic of our India obsession and our great fallacy, I believe.

As we make our slow transition into regular democratic rule, I hope that we can also learn two lessons from the past. First, that there are no permanent friends or enemies in international affairs. This is something which every student of international relations learns on the first day, but it is still an alien concept in Pakistan. Pakistanis still divide the world into ‘friends’ and ‘foes’ and base their foreign policy on this precept, which is obviously flawed. States formulate policy on interests. The improvement of Sino-Indian relations is a prime example of this. India has been an ‘enemy’ but it can also be a ‘friend’.

Secondly, and most importantly, we need to end our almost maniac obsession with India. We can no longer be ‘Not India’ and cannot any longer act like a neglected twin. At least I would like to live in a country which does not define itself against any other country, but has its own identity and is comfortable with it. Obviously, identity formation is a long process and Pakistan is mired in several problems here, but still it would be healthy for Pakistan to think about what makes it special rather than what it is rejecting. Our India-centricism has not only created a false image of us but has also prevented us from focusing on things which would improve the lives of people in our country, like education, health and sanitation — simply the basics. September 6, Defence Day unites the whole country, but it is indeed very sad that only anti-Indianism brings the country together — surely, there is more to Pakistan?

Is there anything at all that makes Pakistan special? Homeland for Muslims?-Bangladesh has more of that claim if any Muslim country does; Indian Muslims? they would rather move to North Korea than Pakistan.

Your India centrism in fact has enabled the full flowering of Islam which is now unfolding, much to India's satisfaction let it be said. You got what you asked for. Poetic or not, stew in your own juices.

That guy accepts the Pakistani faults but wants to find some reasons to accuse India also. Here is the problem. The unbolded portion above are also untrue. India's actions were in response to Pakistani actions earlier. The 'throttle' (whatever that means) that he refers to, or the devaluation of currency issue, or the stoppage of waters from the headworks in East Punjab etc. are all reactions to much larger and more sinister Pakistani perfidy. He wants to suppress those facts. Why does he do that ? One can find many Pakistanis who otherwise reasonably argue their case also do the same thing. This cannot be simply dismissed as an attempt to balance and apportion the blame, what we call as equal-equal. That is true also but, there is a deeper reason and that is the disbelief that a country could be so generous as to give away large parts of its own, give away its precious water resource even after all the pain of partition and wars, take blow after blow and not crush the enemy when it could have etc. No country in modern history has been so pacifist and accommodating. It is like Einstein's remarks about Mahatma Gandhi that no body would believe later that a man like Gandhi was born in our midst. This disbelief makes people think that there should have been a sinister motive behind everything India did and want to attribute patently false things to her.

Abduction case: Two kidnapped Hindu boys still not home
Pakistan is Pure Islam
SUKKUR: The Ghotki police have failed to recover the two Hindu boys, who were kidnapped near Qadirpur, on Monday last week. The Hindu community has threatened to call a district-wide protest if the boys are not recovered soon as the community believes that the police negligence has delayed the process. Meanwhile, a strike was observed in Qadirpur and Ghotki on the call of the Hindu Panchayat of Qadirpur and Ghotki. The protesting Hindus demanded the police immediately recover the boys and give protection to their community.Last week, Nishal, son of an insurance company worker, Sachanand, and Haresh, son of a goldsmith, Ashok Kumar, both students of grade 10 were on their way back home on a motorcycle to Qadirpur after attending school in Ghotki, when the incident happened. A group of armed bandits intercepted the motorcycle when they reached Qadirpur and whisked them away in a car and fled, leaving behind the motorcycle.Last night a large number of policemen raided different villages, including, Jam Muhammad Ali Lakhan and conducted house-to-house raids but failed to recover the Hindu boys. However, sources claimed that the police arrested some suspects but declined to disclose their names.
Ghotki SSP Abdul Salam Shaikh said that they were trying their best to recover the two boys.SHO Ghazanfar Ali Bhutto told The Express Tribune to talk to the SSP. He said he was busy providing security to a religious gathering at the time.Ghotki Hindu Panchayat president Mukhi Keka Ram told The Express Tribune that they were desperately looking towards the police for the safe recovery of the boys. He further said that there has been an increase in resentment among the Hindu community. “If the boys are not recovered within a day or two, we will go for a shutter down protest and demonstrations throughout Ghotki district,” he added.

Largest US arms aid to India and Israel — Shuu Maila Raja Bint Al Pumkin

Comedy Time
The all-time high increase in US military aid to its strategic partners in Asia like India, Israel and the Philippines, and the massive hike in the defence budgets of these countries indicate a new push of the superpower’s designs in the Indian Ocean region, as well as part of the new world order ahead of presidential elections in the US. Pakistan amongst the world community is considered the so-called frontline ally in its war against terrorism, and in the process during the last one decade has sacrificed over 45,000 people’s lives and around $ one trillion worth of economic losses besides chaos on the political, educational and societal fronts. That has not only been ignored in the past, but at the height of this war Pakistan is not being provided the basic weapons, even intelligence surveillance gadgets, which could help it eliminate terrorists from the FATA region along the Afghan border. :rotfl: ( The Logic of Inbreds)

India, on the other end, is the largest weapon importer as per the study made by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). Over the past five years, Asia and Oceania accounted for 44 percent in volume of conventional arms imports. That compared with 19 percent for Europe, 17 percent for the Middle East, 11 percent for North and South America, and nine percent for Africa. India was the first world importer over the period, accounting for 10 percent in weapons volume. It was followed by South Korea (six percent), China and Pakistan (both five percent), and Singapore (four percent), according to the independent institute, which specialises in arms control and disarmament matters. These five countries accounted for 30 percent of the volume of international arms imports. “India’s imports of major weapons increased by 38 percent in 2002-2006 and then in 2007-11. Notable deliveries of combat aircraft during 2007-11 included 120 Su-30MKs and 16 MiG-29Ks from Russia and 20 Jaguar Ss from the UK.”
India raised its defence budget 17 percent this year and announced to purchase heavy and sophisticated weapons, aircraft, navy ships worth billions of dollars
. The world community this time took serious note of it and defence analysts across the US and Europe proved that China, which shares billions of dollars trade with India, is not a threat for India and therefore such a huge arms buildup is meaningless and certainly seems to be Pakistan-specific. Another point is noteworthy that the diplomats, State Department officials and even the news agencies that report the hike in aid, clearly play with the words and the impression of “arms sale to continue running their war industry” is tactfully diverted to “US military aid”, which is not at all military aid. There is no military ‘aid’ but military ‘sales’ only. The US will nearly triple its military funding for the Philippines this year, which means the US will arrange American bank loans that will increase threefold the sale of American weapons to the Philippines and increase threefold the Philippines’ external debt. The aim of this ‘aid’ is to make the Philippines a much poorer and deeply indebted country, so that the only way of paying back is by offering the US more land, both for exploitation as well as for more military bases. The same is the case with Pakistan and if India is unaware of this ‘exploitation’, then it is mistaken that for the sake of a temporary benefit, it is putting at stake the future of this region and helping make the future generations hostage to others, like they did in the past.

$1 trillion. Last week's op-ed claimed $100 billion loss. Last year it was around $40 billion I think. In a couple of months it will become $5 trillion.

To summarize, Pakistan has lost $40 billion to $5 trillion give or take $2 trillion because of WoT. It is all of the world's responsibility to compensate Pakistan.

"Democracy Is The Best Revenge," President Zardari's Legacy

I can say with some confidence that President Zardari's legacy will be written in golden words.

I don't say this as his son, or patron-and-chief of the Pakistan People's Party - but as a student of history.

I would compare his presidency to that of America's Lyndon B. Johnson. He too was an accidental president. He came to power following the assassination of the popular and charismatic John F. Kennedy. Much like Shaheed Mohtrama Benazir Benazir, JFK was assassinated before he could implement much of his agenda and vision for the country.

SSridhar Ji :

I believe Gandhi Ji forced Nehru to pay Pakistan its dues in respect of Sterling as well as Rupee Dues. However, Pakistan has not paid India the Rupees 300 Crores which it owed to India.

IR 300 Crores would be IR 3000 Million i.e. Sterling Pounds 225 Million i.e. 22.5 Million Troy Ounces of Gold as Gold was £ 10 per Troy Ounce.

Is my belief correct? If so why is it not "Demanded" by India and why is it not highlighted in the Indian Media?

X-Posted on the Dawood Ibrahim & Underworld Watch Thread

Nepal freezes assets of entities with Dawood, al-Qaida links

KATHMANDU : The Nepal government has directed freezing of assets of 224 individuals and 64 groups with links to al-Qaida and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim if they are present in Nepal.

Those on the list are individuals and groups identified by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) as entities associated with al-Qaida.

Under resolutions adopted by the council, UN member states are required to freeze assets, and impose travel ban and embargo on individuals and entities with links to al-Qaida.

The decision was taken based on Nepal's commitment to UN principles and its adoption of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Act.

Clause 29E(2) of the AML Act stipulates that properties of those who invest in organizations, groups, and people involved in terrorist acts or involved in advancing or manufacturing weapons of mass destruction will be frozen immediately.

"As per out commitment to the UN resolution and recommendation made by the ministry of foreign affairs, we have asked the concerned government agencies to freeze the proprieties or bank account(s) or financial transactions," Shanker Prasad Koirala, a spokesperson of Nepal's home ministry told IANS on Monday.

However, he said the government has no knowledge about the presence and financial transactions of al-Qaida-related individuals and organizations in the country.

"As a UN member state, it is the responsibility of Nepal to freeze the assets of anyone found to have links to the terrorist group," he said.

The UN had urged its member states several times to freeze without delay funds and other financial assets or economic resources of designated individuals and entities and prevent the entry into or transit through their territories by designated individuals.

Information posted in Nepal's home ministry website about Dawood Ibrahim states that his title is Sheikh and date of birth December 26, 1955.

He holds passports of several nations, according to the information.

It also lists the addresses of his properties in Karachi .

Comments : Can India do it? Yes it can. Will India Do It? Your Guess is as Good as mine!!!

Meanwhile back at the Loony Bin (named so in memory of the late P0rno King of Abbotabad fame)

Quoted from Foreign Policy Magazine received via email
Pakistan's government endorses negotiations with militant groups
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wonk Watch :rotfl: : "Jihadist Terrorism: A Threat Assessment," Peter Bergen, Bruce Hoffman, Michael Hurley, and Errol Southers (BPC).

Pakistani peace talks

Pakistan's political and military leadership gathered in Islamabad on Monday to discuss the country's national security strategy and endorsed conducting negotiations with the different militant groups operating in Pakistan (Bloomberg, Dawn, ET, Pajhwok, RFE/RL). The closed-door All Party Conference was attended by representatives from all of the major political parties; Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, the army chief; and Lt. Gen. Zaheer ul-Islam, the head of the Inter-Services Intelligence Directorate. Releasing a joint statement after the meeting, the participants announced that they had given Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif permission to "initiate dialogue with all stakeholders" and authorized it to "take all necessary steps, including development of an appropriate mechanism and identification of interlocutors." But while it is clear there is a political consensus for talks, the success of the resolution is unclear as little information was given on how such talks would work in practice and "what issues the government might be willing to negotiate" Want to bet the issue will be more concentration on Kashmir and turning Afghanistan into strategic depth?

For its part, the Pakistani Taliban replied positively but cautiously to the conference resolution (ET). Shahidullah Shahid, a Taliban spokesman, said: "We welcome the unanimous resolution passed by the APC and will be positive in our response." The group's Political Commission member and former spokesman, Ehsanullah Ehsan, agreed that the "unanimous stance of all the stakeholders in today's APC Statement is a positive sign," but called on the government to offer a "road-map for the talks."

25 million Pakistani children are out-of-school. Pakistan is ranked number two in this category

Pakistan is ranked number 1: More than six million Pakistani children of primary school age are not enrolled in a primary or a secondary school. Pakistan is ranked number one in this category; no other country on the face of the planet is worse off than Pakistan. Sudan, at number two, has three million.

Pakistan is ranked number 1: Close to four million female Pakistani children are out of school. Pakistan is ranked number one in this category; no other country on the face of the planet is worse off than Pakistan. Sudan, at number two, has 1.5 million.

Pakistan is ranked number 2: 25 million Pakistani children are out-of-school. Pakistan is ranked number two in this category. Nigeria is the only country on the face of the planet that has more out-of-school children than Pakistan.

Pakistan is ranked number 2: Pakistani girls enrolled in primary schools expressed as a percentage of total number of pupils in primary schools stands at 35.9 percent. Pakistan is ranked number two in this category. Afghanistan is the only country on the face of the planet that is worse off than Pakistan. The same percentage in Afghanistan is 32 percent.

Pakistan is ranked number 2: The duration of compulsory education in Pakistan is five years. Pakistan is ranked number 2 in this category. Angola is the only country on the face of the planet where the duration of compulsory education is four years. The same in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands is 13 years.

Pakistan is ranked number 3: More than 30 million Pakistani women aged 15 or over are illiterate. Pakistan is ranked number three in this category.

Pakistan is ranked number 4: Pakistan spends 7.8 percent of overall government expenditure on education. Pakistan is ranked number four in this category. The only three countries that spend even less are: Panama, Slovakia and Equatorial Guinea. Imagine, Thailand spends 28 percent and Malaysia 20 percent.

Pakistan is ranked number 4: More than 18 million Pakistani men aged 15 or above are illiterate. There are only three other countries where there are more illiterate men aged 15 or above.

Pakistan is ranked number 5: Pakistan spends 1.8 percent of its GDP on education. There are only four countries on the face of the planet that spend even less – the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Ecuador and Equatorial Guinea. Imagine, Cuba spends 18.7 percent of its GDP on education, Malaysia 8.1 percent, Israel 7.5 percent and India 4.1 percent.

India spends 4.1 percent of its GDP on education and we spend 1.8 percent. No wonder, India produces around 13,000 scientific and technical journal articles and Pakistan less than 400.

Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan; Chapter 1: Fundamental Rights- Article 25-A: “The State shall provide free and compulsory education to all children of the age of five to sixteen years in such manner as may be determined by law.”

For the record, a mere six percent of Pakistanis are aware of their constitutional right to a “free and compulsory education” (Alif Ailaan).

Ok, it was Manekshaw and yahya khan..deal
ensoi
http://www.rediff.com/news/1999/may/10shaw.htm
Manekshaw was at his evocative best when he recalled his acquaintance with President Yahya Khan when the latter had worked under him in the military operations directorate of the British Indian Army just before partition.

Yahya Khan, then a colonel, was impressed by Manekshaw's James motorcycle which he had bought for Rs 1400. ''I told him that he could have the vehicle for as much. He said he would give only Rs 1000. I said okay,'' Manekshaw recalled.

But then,...

''But I don't have a thousand rupees now, I will send it to you later,'' Yahya Khan said. It was August 13, 1947. Twenty-one years later Yahya Khan became the president of Pakistan. ''I never received the Rs 1000, but he gave me the whole of East Pakistan :rotfl: ,'' Manekshaw said amid thunderous applause.

Tough talk: IMF says meeting conditions must for release of tranches

Second Half of The Chautha Father
ISLAMABAD: In town for tough talk, the International Monetary Father (IMF) envoy Jaffar Mojarrad has told the country’s top economic managers that in a departure from past practice, the fund would not give any waiver to Pakistan if it dishonoured any of its commitments under the $6.7 billion extended fund facility.Mojarrad, one of twenty-four executive directors of the IMF who approved a $6.7 billion three-year loan for Pakistan last week, is visiting Islamabad along with Director for Central Asia and Middle East Masood Ahmed and IMF’s Washington-based mission chief for Pakistan, Jeffery Franks, as they seek to convey an overall sense of the IMF board’s thinking to Pakistan’s policymakers. However, while Mojarrad hoped that the momentum for economic reforms gained over the past few months would continue, he sounded a note of caution by emphasising that waivers under the programme should not be expected by Islamabad. The IMF executive director also said that the fund recognised the difficult economic conditions prevalent in Pakistan, adding that China was the strongest supporter of approving the loan for Pakistan in the Executive Board meeting.Under the approved extended fund facility, Pakistan will receive the $6.7 billion in 13 tranches, the first of which amounting to $547 million has been received by Pakistan. If Pakistan fails to implement any of agreed conditions, which according to Mojarrad have been conveyed in black and white, it will have to seek a waiver from the IMF Board or the remaining tranches will be suspended. To meet pre-conditions for the approval of the loan, Pakistan had earlier increased power tariffs for industrial, commercial and bulk consumers, issued notices to over 10,000 tax evaders, sought Council of Common Interests approval for seeking Rs117 billion savings from provinces and conducted open market operations worth $125 million through the State Bank to support dwindling foreign currency reserves.
According to the IMF plan of action, next steps include raising the power tariff by 30% for domestic consumers, imposing a gas levy, finalizing the restructuring plan for 65 state-owned enterprises, amendments in Pakistan Penal Code, 1860, and Code of Criminal Procedures of 1898, preparation of plans for nine banks facing liquidity problems and the abolishment of the Pakistan Electric Power Company (Pepco). Sources have revealed that given Pakistan’s past history of ending IMF programs prematurely due to non-implementation of IMF conditions, the twenty-three Executive Directors of the IMF submitted written comments on Pakistan’s request, highlighting their concerns about the country’s ability to implement the latest round of stringent reform conditions.
One of the main areas of focus for the IMF will continue to be close monitoring of the federal government’s ability to bind provincial governments to take measures for provincial revenue mobilisation under next National Finance Commission (NFC) Award.Later in the meeting, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar shared the government’s economic performance during the first two months of the new fiscal year with the visiting team. He told the delegation that the July-August 2013 figures for tax revenue collection demonstrated growth of 20% over the last year. However, the minister failed to add that during the first two months, the target for revenue generation was missed by a cumulative Rs16 billion. Sources added that the IMF will now give greater importance to measuring targets at the quarterly level when it reviews performance during its first review meeting, likely to be held in early November.

India-Pakistan Foreign Ministers to meet on Friday: sources
New Delhi: In signs of keenness to continue the dialogue process despite the recent tension at the border, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid will reportedly meet his Pakistani counterpart Sartaj Aziz on Friday in Kyrgyzstan.

<snip>

Sources have told NDTV that India has accepted Pakistan's offer for a meeting between Mr Khurshid and Mr Aziz who is the national security and foreign policy adviser to Mr Sharif.

The reported meeting, to be held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meet, may lay the groundwork for talks between the prime ministers, which is likely to take place before noon on September 29, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

Government sources had earlier told NDTV that preparations for that meeting are under way, and a room has been booked at a prominent New York hotel for it.

India refuses visa to a Pak team for Champions League Twenty20
The government's decision not to give visas to the Pakistani team to participate in the limited over cricket tournament comes in the backdrop of recent ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LOC) creating tension between the two countries.
Last month, India had not granted visa to a Pakistani religious group to attend Urs here and suggested that they defer their visit in view of their safety and security.
maybe GoI should grow a pair and give the true reason.

Army, Pakistani Taliban exchange prisoners ahead of likely talks
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The armed forces of Pakistan and Taliban militants exchanged prisoners Wednesday as a confidence building measure ahead of possible peace talks, intelligence officials and a militant commander said. The exchange included six militants of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and two paramilitary Frontier Corps soldiers, officials and the commander said.
Militants fired in the air with joy when their colleagues were freed, the intelligence officials said. The officials and two Taliban commander spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to talk to journalists.
However, the Pakistan army has rebutted reports of such a swap.“Pakistan military rejected the news of any prisoner swap with Taliban, as being reported by a foreign news agency,” the army spokesperson, Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa said in a text message to the media representatives.
Despite the denial by Pakistan's military public affairs office, the intelligence officials and Taliban commanders provided the names of the militants who were freed and said the two paramilitary soldiers released were kidnapped by the Taliban in southwest Balochistan province in March 2012.
The release occurred only days after Pakistan's main political parties endorsed peace negotiations with the Taliban and their allies Monday as the best way to end a decade-long insurgency that has killed thousands of people. The exchange was meant to build confidence between the government and the militants before formal peace talks, the Pakistani Taliban commander said. “Not only is the path well worn, it is also a path that has on every previous occasion been attempted and led to failure, mutual recrimination and renewed bloodshed,” an editorial published Wednesday in a Pakistani newspaper said.

ISI officers caught cheating in exam
Around 500 candidates, including 50 officials from ISI and Intelligence Bureau, have been caught "cheating" while appearing for an entrance test to fill vacancies in Pakistan's premier National Counter Terrorism Authority, according to a media report today.

With the government lifting the ban on recruitment, the assessment exam held last week was "marred by so many blatant frauds that it has turned into a farce". Around 500 candidates were caught solving papers through internet browsing on mobile phones and 50 of them were identified as ISI/IB officers.

PCB need to show self respect and stop begging from BCCI: Shoaib Akhtar

Confused Begger.
"I have always said that we don't need to run after India all the time and we need to stop begging on different issues whether it is resumption of bilateral cricket ties, allowing our players for the IPL or our team for the Champions League," Akhtar said.
"We need to concentrate on building up our cricket structure and building up a world class side. When we have a world class side everyone will not only want to play against us but on our terms as well," he said. {I bet even Bangladesh will show a middle finger.}
He also lashed out at the ICC and member boards for not realising that there was urgent need to inject money into Test and one-day international cricket.

"These were the formats which are real cricket and these were formats where players should be earning more money but instead the money was injected into T20 cricket and the IPL has taken the lead in this," he said. {This Mofo did not know that India is a net giver to ICC and he has big kujli that they were not allowed to play in IPL}

Undiscovered-Goldmine-phenomenal-rise-in-guar-production-going-unnoticed

KARACHI:
Guar, a little known plant grown entirely in the Indian subcontinent, is emerging as a major cash crop in Pakistan with returns surpassing cotton, rice, wheat and almost every other crop, traders say.
Pakistan expects harvest of over 250,000 tons in 2013, highest in 18 years, after more land came under cultivation following a spectacular rise in price in the last two years, they said.
“Prices have crashed since mid-2012 but people are hoping to reap increased gains this season, which ends around November,” said Muhammad Ilyas, a grain trader. “Production depends on rains. But if all goes well, we can see an output of even 300,000 tons.”
Guar or cluster bean has traditionally been used in India and Pakistan as animal feed and natural fertiliser. Guar split powder when mixed with liquid turns into a thickener, which has industrial applications ranging from making ice cream and beverages to textile manufacturing.
But the global surge in demand for guar powder or gum has been led by its increasing use for oil and shale fracturing. India has an 80% share in the market while rest of the demand is met from Pakistan.
Its importance as a major crop cannot be overstated. Guar and guar products export from Pakistan was just $29 million in 2006-07. It shot up to a record high of $152 million in 2011-12 before coming down to $139 million, still more than many other items.
Price has come down to Rs90 per kilogramme (kg) now from a high of Rs300 per kg recorded in 2012.
“International buying has slowed down because of environmental apprehensions surrounding shale drilling. But farmers and traders have shown a tremendous interest in guar,” said Waheed Sheikh, manufacturer of guar gum and splits.
It is hard to estimate the exact size of the cultivated area as guar is sown on in far-flung arid and semi-arid areas of Punjab, Sindh and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Most of the production comes from Sargodha and Tharparkar.
But according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, guar was cultivated over 154,821 hectares in 2008-09.
Pakistan has 11 companies making guar split with Pak Gum Industries being the largest producer. Pak Gum and Chemicals Limited is also the only one listed on the stock exchange.
In the six months to June 2013, Pak Gum and Chemicals Limited posted earnings per share of Rs15.88, down 71% from Rs55.93 in the same period of previous year.
The company has literally basked in profits since guar price surged. It tells how much money dealers have made. In 2009, its EPS was Rs1.26. It posted a loss of Rs11.73 in the following year. In 2011, its EPS rose to Rs30.11 and finally to Rs57.42 in 2012.
Background
Until four years ago, when new investors started setting up guar processing plants, the market in Pakistan was controlled by four large firms.
“It was an oligopoly that kept prices low here. From 1983 to 1995, price ranged between Rs2 and Rs3 per kg. Then it slowly moved up and reached Rs13 in 2005. It was still too low to generate any substantial interest among farmers,” said Sheikh.
Pakistan mostly produces food-grade guar gum but at least two investors are setting up plants, which will produce gum of over 7,000 cps (a measure for viscosity), which is used in the oil and gas industry.
Malik Ameer, a broker, said successive governments have ignored the crop. “Farmers get no support when it comes to the supply of right seeds. Result is that our yield of guar bean is 27kg from 100kg of crop against India’s 32kg.”
Guar crop does not need fertiliser or pesticide, making it relatively cheap to cultivate. “It all depends on rain.”
Shale use
Shale drilling has revolutionised the search for petroleum reserves as more oil and gas are pumped out from previously hard-to-reach subsurface regions.
Exploration companies use fracturing to crack open underground pockets where hydrocarbons are trapped. For that, they need to pump liquids down the wells at high pressure. High viscose guar gum is the perfect agent for that purpose.

A newbie question for the gurus:

Last three decades have seen express wahabbization of TSP. Each section of converts tried to forge new identity, wherein they claimed descendance from arabs and/or persianized turks. So much so that some of the wikipedia entries detailing this exercise, despite the earnestness, are laughable. However, one still finds TSPians who still use surnames such as Sehgal, Rana, Rao, Khokhar etc. I wonder how these survived the Wahabbi onslaught.

Three migrant labourers gunned down in Gwadar - DAWN.COM
GWADAR: The bodies of three migrant labourers who were abducted the previous night from near Balochistan's port city of Gwadar were found dumped in the nearby hills on Thursday, officials said.

The victims had been picked up by unknown gunmen the previous night from a stone-crushing plant at Sansar, around 70 kilometres north of the Gwadar port.

Levies officers told DawnNews that all three bodies bore bullet wounds. The whereabouts of a fourth kidnapped man, the owner of the plant, were still unknown.

“Gunmen came during the night and attacked. They set fire to machinery at the plant, kidnapped the owner and three labourers,” local official Dostain Baloch told news agency AFP.

“They took away all of them and later on, during the night, they killed the three labourers and discarded their bodies. The owner is still with them,” he added.

Another local official, Mohammed Akbar, and Mohammed Omar, the partner of the kidnapped owner, confirmed the attack....

Which terrorists? Not the green on green ones. The "good" tellibunnies? Or the ones created by I-Ass-Eye? Or the "agencies" themselves? Does this fluffed up "estimate" include the "innocents" martyred by "RAA, CIA, Mossad"?

The world is worried about terrorists, But no on is concerned about $70 Billion loss bakistan suffered. huh??
"His regretfully myopic vision is blind to the enormous sufferings in terms of human and economic losses in Pakistan's pursuit for global peace," he said. "He is contemptuously oblivious of the fact that so far over 35,000 Pakistanis have lost their lives and the country incurred a loss of about $70 billion to the economy."

They do, but Hindus dismiss them as being of any significance. The names certainly cause no introspection in the Pakistani either.

My guess is that, those TFTAs with SDRE Hindoo names themselves don't know they are Hindu names....else they would have Arabized them like Rao - >Rauf
