Sunni Terrorist Fragments of Unstable Pakistan - 10 Oct 2014
Re: Sunni Terrorist Fragments of Unstable Pakistan - 10 Oct
As usual, Shahzad Chaudhry has spun a web of outright lies, half truths and utter perfidy into a great-sounding analysis.
The Pakistanis claim to have 'eliminated' the Haqqanis from NWA, thus meeting the demands of the U.S. There are many layers of untruth in such an articulation. Firstly, the Haqqanis are not eliminated in the true sense of that word. They had been given sufficient time to move back into Afghanistan before Op Zerb was launched to flatten empty mud houses to claim 'a great victory'. As late as May this year, the Haqqanis were used by the Pakistani Army, to bomb the Indian Consulate at Herat. Countries and Armies do not change their doctrines easily and that is especially true with Pakistan and its jihadi terrorist army. Besides, the Haqqanis have been quite subservient to the Pakistani Army just like the LeT has been. There is absolutely no reason for the PA to turn against its trusted friend especially when their services are likely to be needed more in the future.
Then, about having met the American demand of 'eliminating the Haqqanis'. The American demand is at least 7 years old. Pakistan was less sanguine about this. After the attack oN the Kabul US Embassy, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mike Mullen, called the Haqqanis as the 'veritable sword arm' of the ISI. Later, Kayani was blunt in saying that Pakistan would attack NWA only when it felt it was needed. Hillary Clinton, Leon Panetta, Mike Mullen, David Petraeus have all recorded their frustration with Pakistan over its Haqqani policy. Pakistan's dapper groper PM, Gilani, admitted once that Musharraf had hunted with the hounds and run with the hares. Sartaj Aziz has recently confirmed this approach of Pakistan in the BBC interview as well. Now, Shahzad Chaudhry claims to have met the U.S. demand ? As a Tamil saying goes, "If the listener is a fool, you can even claim that millets ooze out butter and ghee".
The other point he makes is the issue of Kunar and Nuristan. That is, he wants the U.S. Army to attack the 'bad Taliban' who seem to have taken refuge there, leaving aside Khosnt, Paktia and Paktika where the Haqqanis have moved in. Do we understand the salience of the Pakistani Army's great Op Zerb-e-Azb?

SSridhar:" Do we understand the salience of the Pakistani Army's great Op Zerb-e-Azb?"
So "zarb-e-zeb" was eye wash meant to pretend that the "ISI friendly" (good) taliban have all been wiped out and now it is the american's turn to keep their end of the bargain and wipe out the bad taliban, so that the pakis have a free run of conducting terror ops in afghanisthan when the good taliban rear up their ugly heads once the bad taliban have been neutralized by the americans. Sheer paki chutzpah knowing fully well the americans are a bunch of tools to fall for this trick again and again.
The "good" taliban operating against the afghan forces and Indians (and US forces) in afghanisthan without have the bad taliban resisting them leaves the likes of LeT and JuD terrorists to focus on the eastern front in J&K.

Haqqani Jr was chilling in Pindi of all places and was Bull cattled in Isloo by Afghan intelligence! This was just an year ago. Apparently he had a big convoy with bodyguards and all and moving around Isloo peacefully.

There’s nothing new here. This has been US SOP since day 1, pretty much.

That’s your perception. It is fine, you,re entitled to it.
>>and India's angst is mis-directed towards RR.
Really? This whole “angst misdirection” that you are concerned about has been entirely short-lived, and non-state. And all of India’s “angst” (presumably you mean GoI, kindly show some examples of this) is directed towards RR? That is a gross exaggeration by you, since as far as I have seen not a single serving GoI official has commented on the matter. I’m not sure why you’re doing this sort of rhetorical sleight of hand. It is consistent across your posts, and I’m wondering whether it is that you are not aware of it or that you are aware and are looking for a certain effect. If so, what is that effect?
>>Now I agree with you that RR brought to bear certain traits that didn't quite endear herself to SDRE diplomats, but she could have been ignored were she not executing US policy.
Actually, she was executing US policy and she was still ignored by India, even blackballed if not blacklisted.
>>As for India TSP equal equal back on track, kindly read all the AP/Reuters reports of late quoting "US officials", including yesterday's attack in the Arnia sector.
Why? I don’t give a crap, and neither do most Indians who couldn’t care less about AP/Reuters or anyone else. It is very small subset of Indians who actually read these wire reports and even fewer among them who actually feel the way you apparently feel about them. And, frankly, so what if unnamed or named US officials express a view? They have every right to say what they want, and we have every right to ignore it or respond to it – which is again what has happened for much of the last five odd decades.
>>Its as though terrorists came from the sky and its only India alleging that they came from TSP, and TSP is so innocent that it calls for a UN investigation.
You seem to want some explicit recognition from someone (other than Indians) that we are being attacked by terrorists. It appears to stem from some belief that such acknowledgement will lend legitimacy for our position. Why do you care for it? Their opinions are relevant only to the extent they can translate that into policy and harm us. This they are doing by supplying weapons to Pakistan and helping it survive. This is no secret to us. Whether they give verbal appreciation for our position or cast us in the role of the villains is entirely irrelevant. Why, exactly, do you care what they think?

Decoding Signals from the Noise - The Need to think a bit differently!
Gentle readers of the forum. I do believe that the famed "ahead of the curve" BRF is slowing down. Hence thought it is time for another ramble from yours truly can gently point out to certain facts and trends amidst the noise. A better signal to noise ratio, should ensure that our collective thinking is more focussed.
So in that spirit, it would be pertinent to point out a few interesting trends of the last few months since a new GoI dispensation took over
1. A far more integrated approach to National Security across all its dimensions i.e. Geo-political, Economic, Military, Socio-Cultural and Science & technology has been adopted. Evidence of the same is there to see if only we pick up the signals. The Inner Mandala (immediate neighborhood) being engaged, Act East, Engagement with Paki sponsor states in a new manner, revving up economic engine, Make in India, Cleansing of institutions, drawing up a plan for rapid military industrial complex building, intel up gradation, border areas being focused for development etc
2. A clear demonstration of National interest being reinforced be it with WTO negotiations or taking an offensive defence action against pakistani entity in the latest standoff, or standing our ground against Chinese bala pariksha during their President's visit
3. The clear acceptance that things have change in India by the western power elite, in terms of the long queues to get Modi to their country, from the USG's attempt to mend fences, to Australian and British efforts to reset their relationship with Modi. Not to mention, the almost daily wailing across Pakistani channels about how India is way ahead and how they are getting to be irrelevant.
4. The willingness on the part of GoI to engage the diaspora and integrate the vast presence and influence that they represent into articulation of Indian power projection. The positive response that this has evoked and very visible changes in processes and government attitude to them shows another intent. That India is ready to take on the responsibility towards them and work towards being a global player.
5. The very clear signals that the PM has made to the rest of South Asian region - offering them a choice and chance. They have all been clearly told to make a stand in terms of building a region that is open, sensitive to each others interests and becoming more integrated. That is the choice that they have been asked to make. In terms of chance, by electing to be aligned with the overarching Indian vision of an integrated region, the neighbors will be allowed to partake in the economic resurgence and growth of India. They will be able to get Indian capital, expertise, access Indian infrastructure.
These five mega trends are pretty obvious. What does it therefore portend to the artificial entity called Pakistan and its international benefactors?
1. First and foremost, India will act without recourse to any other consideration to any other power, to protect its national interest. Any Pakistani misadventure will be dealt with a composite response that will inflict disproportionate pain. It has already been demonstrated. Their backers in terms of the US and its allies, the Saudis and the Chinese are now very aware that India will not be acting in a purely defensive defense manner any more.
2. The survival of the artificial entity called Pakistan will be left to themselves. India will not do anything in terms of throwing a life line to this entity or a set of the power elite that controls that entity to ensure its survival. Indeed, should the entity or the power elite there continue to act against Indian security or export terror, India will retaliate and ensure everything possible is done to hasten the implosion.
3. Indian position with regard to Pakistan will not be based on any notions of what it will mean to Indian Muslims or potential fault lines that it might breach internally in India. There is a clear departure of sub-conscious linking of Indian Muslims to the problem that the artificial entity called Pakistan poses to us. No longer will the GOI be shackled by those imaginary chains.
The above messages are being increasingly understood by the Pakistanis as well as their benefactors, as they are not mere posturing but what they see as action on the ground by India. It is another matter that the biggest benefactor of the artificial entity called Pakistan, the USA, the sole super power is finding it increasingly difficult to maintain or control events in the rentier state. It is a reflection of the slow erosion in their capacity to use their still unsurpassed power and capabilities at the altar of geo-political constraints. What is not noticed or given any recognition and acknowledgement is the new found clarity of purpose and unity in action on the part of GOI. Even less understood is the full geo-strategic impact of the General Elections and what it has meant in terms of expression of National Will by the people of India. This has been a true "Black Swan" moment that should be understood.
If these basic signals or understood, we can understand that the coming decade will be one that will change the region in many ways as yet unimagined.
So gentle rakshaks, I do hope that this little ramble will set us all thinking a bit differently and act a bit differently. For after all, as I keep saying, the toughest shackles to break are the ones in our minds.
Just a ramble as usual take it for what it is worth!

Excellent analysis by Raja Ram. The new GOI has been making all the right moves. Uncannily, many of them mirror the thinking of a Bharat Rakshak. It is almost as if someone in NSA reads BR every morning, while sitting 'on Pakistan'.
The *calculated right moves* that have been made so-far are:
1) Completely ignoring and treating Badmaash at the level of a peon at the SAARC summit.
2) Cancelling talks with pakistan on the grounds of meeting the hurri-rats. Now the Pakistani state will think twice before making any Kashmiri related moves.
3) Giving a bloody nose in the border firings. Pakis will think ten times before escalating the border firings.
4) completely ignoring the Pakistani pleas to resume talks and constantly reminding their perfidy to the media.
For those who are 'listening' , I predict the future steps taken by the GOI on the below lines:
a) Relations would have become so bad that I do not see any scenario where the Indian leadership will attend the SAARC 2015 held in Pakistan. Likely, a senior bureaucrat will be sent in place with the intention of reducing this summit to a farce followed by isolation and termination of Pakistan membership in the SAARC in and around 2016-2017.
b) The Wagah border circus will be cancelled on the Indian side, thus clearly hurting their rapidly vanishing H&D. This will hit pakistanis in the gut with pain never known before.
c) Cancelling all visitors from Pakistan on the pretext of polio and ebola concerns. This is a pure chanikiyan move that will 'encourage' similar measures adopted by countries around the globe.
d) 'Mysterious deaths' of dawood, Hafeez and some ISI officers inside Pakistan. Start of internal accusatory bickering and wars.
e) Gradual rise in ABM tests to rattle the Pakistani sense of security. Doing a soviet-union-on-the-enemy.
f) At this point, the state of Pakistan will have ceased to exist in cohesion.
As they say, very interesting times ahead.

What is sad is the paucity of vacuum implosions on the Balochistan pipelines and Rahim Yar Khan railway since the untimely demise of Sheikh Bugti.

Rajagopal:"2) Cancelling talks with pakistan on the grounds of meeting the hurri-rats. Now the Pakistani state will think twice before making any Kashmiri related moves."
Recently the pakistanis are not shying from demonstrating that they are a bunch of pig-headed sphincters, if we take Nawaz Sharif's apparent defiance of the Indian position by restating that just contacts with the Hurriyat will continue no matter what -- and ably restated by all the army lapdogs in the "civilian" govt. It is a different matter that their current capabilities don't allow them much room to respond except possible use the large numbers of paki illegals in Indian territory as recruiters of impressionable Indian youth. Not to mention the Home Minister's stance that Pakistan is terror central which states the Indian govt. is well aware of this challenge.
Pakis don't think once, so expecting them to think twice would be a stretch.

Re: Sunni Terrorist Fragments of Unstable Pakistan - 10 Oct
That is a very important red line that ModiJi has drawn. Question though is how does India enforce that?
Till now, Pakis would make a public spectacle of meeting the Harried rats before meeting India, meaning that basically talks with India are about getting the valley from India. If TSP persists with that as TSP has indicated, then as Rajnath Singh indicated, India's stance is also clear, and no talks.
Now, question though is, if TSP does not make that public spectacle, but rather still meets the rats behind the scenes, will that constitute a breach of red line from India's PoV? If that is not the case, and India resumes talks, then other questions that arise are, what does TSP lose by not contacting the rats in a public. And what does India gain by TSP contacting the rats in private but not in public.

Our Ministry of External Affairs must take strict punitive action against the embassy or consulate visa section personnel who granted Indian Visa to this patient and those accompanying him, for granting Indian visit visa without ensuring that this group of citizens of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan entered India with an adequate cushion of funds. Steeped as Pakistani’s are in Mohammadden religion, it will not take very much encouragement for Pakistani’s to believe that as Dhimmi Hindu’s, Indian’s will be privileged to pay Jaziya and finance Pakistani Mohammadden Momin sojourn’s in Indian Hospital’s .
Two other things. I am happy to note that it was not Indian donors providing bone marrow for transplant given that there are undoubtedly many Indian’s requiring such bone marrow transplants. I am however disappointed with the mention of the words “religious contacts here in the city” as it implies a case of Indian Mohammaddens going to bat for alien nationals from a hostile nation just because of a common Mohammadden religion against own compatriots just because they are adherents of a Non-Mohammadden religion :
Bengaluru hospital confiscates Pakistani cancer patient’s passport

I completely disagree with this argument that RR was merely carrying out policy. Bubba Clinton was too busy getting his pipe wet to be setting sooth-asia policy himself, and halfbright was too focused on Europe. Sooth asia policy was set with input from RR and largely driven by her.KLNMurthy wrote: Enemy has a hostile policy towards India. Enemy sends soldier to implement policy. One of the things people are missing is the *very* high turnout in the J&K elections. We are talking about 72%. This is unprecedented. This has many far reaching consequences towards the status of Jammu & Kashmir regardless of who wins the election. The fact that so many people participated despite a boycott call by Hurriyat and a threat to violence is mind blowing.
The Pakis are scared $hitless. They are crediting Modi for a political masterstroke -- "Rajneeti". They are claiming that by raking up the revocation of article 370, Modi made the public in Kashmir come out and vote in overwhelming numbers to oppose him. Thereby, scoring a self-goal. India can now claim that more than 70% participated in the J&K election under the Indian constitution. This vindicates India's stance.

If pakis actually were serious, they could have carried out such discussions about democracy within lands of pure terrorists.

ArunKJi,
On the voter turn out in J&K, Bukra has conducted a series of interviews. Please see the latest one that touches on the high turnout
http://www.ndtv.com/video/player/we-the ... topstories
All the pro-Paki rats on that show, including some Sameena, whatever her name is, a hard-core Paki claims the same old crap, that the high turnout should not seen as a "resolution" of the "Kashmir issue" because people were apparently not asked whether to remain with India or join TSP. Apparently, people came out in such large number to put a good development-oriented govt in place. Such pigLeTs on our side give oxygen to TSP. The wilds cards are those Muslims that had have the guts to counter such poison, or those that were ambivalent for fear that Pakis might put a bullet in their heads. But no doubt such high turnout is bound to undercut TSP's propaganda.

They know Pakistanis aren't worth much hence the interest in and solicitation for Indians of any stripe.
What would they discuss about Pakistanis-schooling and its inhibitory effect on allegations of blasphemy, dignity of the common Pakistani, grinding poverty and malnutrition, polio and terror central of the globe?
Discussing Kashmir is a pleasant opium.

Four polio vaccinators shot dead in Pakistan
QUETTA, Pakistan —
Gunmen opened fire on a team of polio vaccinators in Pakistan’s restive southwest on Wednesday, killing four of them and forcing authorities to halt an immunisation drive, officials said.
The incident happened on the eastern outskirts of Quetta, the capital of oil and gas rich Baluchistan province.

Attacks on Hindu temples in Pakistan a worrying trend
In the latest incident of its kind, a Hindu temple was attacked by fanatics in Pakistan, the temple was torched, the stone idol of Lord Hanuman blackened with soot, and some religious books burnt.
This attack Nov 21 on the Hindu temple in the Tando Mohammad Khan area in Sindh - and reported in the Dawn newspaper - is however, not a one-off incident in a country where such attacks are increasingly turning out to be the rule, rather than an exception.
With a population of around seven million, Hindus form the largest religious minority group in Pakistan, which, at 195 million, is the second largest Muslim nation in the world after Indonesia.
In a similar attack March 28 this year, a small Hindu temple was torched near Fateh Chowk in Hyderabad, Sindh, triggering widespread protests by the Hindu community.
Only a couple of weeks before that, a dharamshala, or a pilgrims' rest-house, was set ablaze and some statues of Hindu deities in an adjacent temple in Larkana were damaged to protest the alleged desecration of the Islamic holy text Quran.
The arson attacks on Hindu places of worship are seen as attempts to fan flames of communal violence.
In Karachi, the Rama Peer temple has been the subject of property disputes involving commercial builders, BBC reported in December 2012. It is one of the many Hindu temples in the city that have in the recent years been the subject of such property disputes.
All these incidents have been reported in the media, in the highly regarded Dawn newspaper, as well as by BBC and others.
Even the Jinnah Institute, a think tank, has chronicled these incidents.
The arson attacks on Hindu temples and other incidents of religious intolerance have made the Hindu community in Pakistan nervous, according to media here.
With kidnappings and forced conversions of teenage Hindu girls, abduction of Hindu traders for ransom, and desecration of temples, many Hindus have been forced to migrate to India and elsewhere, Dawn reported in September this year.
"As a last resort, we have decided to migrate to India," a Dawn report in November quoted a Hindu man in Sindh as saying.
"We are completely insecure here. We are looted, but our voice is not heard by the people in the saddle, our temples are attacked in broad daylight, but no one takes action, our girls are kidnapped and forcibly converted only to hear more empty promises of justice," he said.
"Nothing happened in the last 65 years and we don't expect any improvement in future. Things will only become worse," he added.
...
The Hindus are the most vulnerable in Pakistani society, wrote vice president of the Pakistan Hindu Seva Chander Kolhi in an article titled "Forced conversions -- a peril for Hindus" in the Daily Times Friday.
"They are unable to educate their children and it is also difficult for them to have their children treated in government hospitals. In some localities, where girl children from the Hindu community are sent to school, they are abducted, raped or are forcefully converted at a minor age," Kolhi stated.
The Pakistan Hindu Council said, after the Nov 21 attack on the Hindu temple in Tando Mohammad Khan, that around 1,400 Hindu religious sites across the country were in dire need of protection by the government.

Isn't Dec 16th Pakistan surrender day?
Re: Sunni Terrorist Fragments of Unstable Pakistan - 10 Oct
Yes. He is probably hoping to change the way Dec 16th is remembered but most likely will end up giving another tareekh on Dec 16th or may announce 'plan D'.ramana wrote:Isn't Dec 16th Pakistan surrender day?
Was this Nov 30th rally announced after bad Shariff started his 2 week visit to Amreeka? What did bad Shariff do in US for 2 weeks? Such a long visit is unusual. Apart from begging for funds and weapons, is it possible he was making a case for removal of badmash's government?

Imran Khan is a spent force, of whatever li'l he possessed. Nobody took him seriously before and nobody takes him seriously now either. Frustrated that he is, he may resort to violence in the next round of protests. We will know on Dec 4 when the promised 'Lahore Shutdown' starts. The padhiri has also gone back to cooler climes after taking money. Imran Khan will be incarcerated if and when he becomes too much of a nuisance value. I do not think that NS will spend sleepless nights because of I'm-the-Dimmy-Dummy Khan's tantrums.

Dimwit may not bring Pakis to a standstill, but since TTP seems to have taken a vacation, I would appreciate some dimwit adding some chaos inside that artificial entity. Any thing minor or major that helps in any way in the natural dissolution of the concept of pukistan is welcomed.

Suhasini Haidar
The fading SAARC initiative
Summary of whine.
Modi did not shake hands with Sharif.
China will seize the initiative and will engage with our neighbors.
Modi did not go that extra mile to make SAARC a success
And "SAARC success" BTW ,according to author is
1. Engage Pak
2. Keep China out.
BTW recently saw pics of her touting Tibet. Chinese sponsored most likely.

Chindu has been an unofficial Cheen mouthpiece under Ram. Not sure how much editorial input from Chindu editors went into the article. They have written some of the most critical articles of any mainstream media (in both India and the west) regarding H.H. The Dalai Lama and the Tibetan cause.Neela wrote: BTW recently saw pics of her touting Tibet. Chinese sponsored most likely.
What caused Ram to take such a overtly pro China stance should be investigaged by intelligence agencies. Is there a turnaround in his opinions after any contact with Cheen or a visit to Cheen?
Isn't Suhashini Haider the daugher of Su Swamy and married into the family of former MEA IFS officer Salman Haider? I would hesitate to doubt her personal or professional integrity but would not rule out her viewpoints being influenced with wrong associations. Also one should remember that being culturally deracinated due to colonialization and materialist worldview, many media personalities do not just get the loss of culture and heritate and spirituality of Tibet as a major disaster. To them clean roads and infrastructure reigns supreme!

In Tibet, as in Xinjiang, clean roads and better infrastructure are available only in the newly built Chinese quarters of their cities which are of course exclusively for Han Chinese only. The old town area is left to rot. Just like what the Pakistani Punjabis do the rest of Pakistan. No wonder our China-leaning leftist media are also Pakistan-leaning because both nations are not only narcissist but also Nazist.schinnas wrote:. . .many media personalities do not just get the loss of culture and heritate and spirituality of Tibet as a major disaster. Interestingly, last time Naya Pakistan was created in 1971 on the same day.
@SirZaidHamid
Imran Khan's date for Naya Pakistan is 17 Dec. hope that he has not ditched Pak Army & accepted another army's help to create Naya Pakistan.

Why is taller, deeper friend doing like this.
China has banned prayer meetings and other religious practices in government buildings, schools and business offices. It has also imposed steep fines on the use of mobile phones and Internet to disseminate messages that 'undermine national unity'.

So this abdul, Junaid Jamshed is the latest blasphemy accused with several protests planned. Fellow apparently was a singer in vital signs, did his drugs, booze and women and suddenly found god, grew a big beard. Fellow apparently said that Aisha used to bug the prophet so women can't be changed even by the prophet.
So everyone has issued a fatwa against him and are baying for his head.
