Russia sending big delegation to Defexpo in Goa
Eyeing multi-billion dollar deals, Russia is sending a 500-member delegation to the defence expo scheduled to be held in Goa later this month.

From Kamov helicopters to latest Kalashnikov rifles, Russia is exhibiting a whopping 800 defence-related products at the four-day exhibition beginning March 28.

In addition, Rostec State Corporation, an umbrella organisation in Russia of about 700 companies, intends to discuss creation of joint production of ammunition with the Defence Ministry. United Engine Corporation (UEC) will present models of aircraft and marine engines.

A clear NAMO effect to see. Lots of live demo of equipments. Seems like NAMO is into agile in a big way which promotes working display of code rather than its static display!

With the HAL prod rate of just 6-8/yr,getting the NLCA into IN service is very unlikely before 2020.However,it should be pursued with pressure,as the NLCAs could even operate out of the IN's far flung island airbases and take on a greater role in air defence of the islands apart from carrier ops. Other nations like Russia and China also operate land-based naval aircraft. Thinl of these island airbases as unsinkable carriers.Remember the role that Malta played in WW2 which contributed hugely to the defeat of the Afrika Corps.

More like L&T shows license assembled TRS-3D with another Elta radar..

The ADFCR radar system consists of a one three dimensional (3D) Surveillance Radar and one Tracking Radar systems, Electro Optical (EO) sensor for passive tracking, a Command & Control Station (including Weapon Control Unit) and an integral power supply system.

The 3D surveillance radar is a land-based version of Airbus' TRS-3D radar, offered in cooperation with its Indian partner L&T. The surveillanc radar is the Elta's ELM 2026B very short range air defence radar system.

Those concerned about annihilating first strike in the Arihant & deterrence threads please note the underground structure photo

Himachal Futuristic is the scam company of Former Telecom Minister Sukhram in PVNR cabinet. They've put up a stall!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukh_Ram
In 1996 the Central Bureau of Investigation seized from his official residence Rs. 3.6 crores in cash concealed in bags and suitcases
http://www.thesundayindian.com/en/story ... m/7/12597/
In 1996, Sukh Ram was accused of changing rules and goalposts to favour companies close to him. In the 1995 auction of mobile phone services, a then unknown entity called Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd (Sukh Ram belongs to Himachal Pradesh) had shocked India Inc. by bidding huge amounts for telecom circles. When it became clear that the company could not pay the license fee and stood to forfeit its bank guarantee, Sukh Ram allegedly changed policy in a way that a company could get only three circles. Himachal Futuristic is still a player in the business. It shot back into limelight last year when a group company Infotel successfully bid for 22 circles for Broadband Wireless Access (BWA). Intriguingly, Infotel sold its majority stake soon after to a company controlled by Mukesh Ambani.

^^ why are science projects displayed in a defense expo ??? They could have come up with missiles on stabilized platforms mounted on existing infantry vehicles ..say SR SAM or ATM on a stabilized platform with E/O system mounted on a gypsys or jongas. more innovative product would have been container with missiles system.

These are not science projects. Just because it is based off a golf-cart, doesn't mean that it is not carefully designed to do its job. Actually, if you followed the tenders they issued, you would know that the "golf-cart" was chosen after a competitive process based on well-laid out system requirements.

They have kept this project under wraps for a few years now. After desiging Daksh, they immediately realized that Daksh was not powerful enough for a variety of operations. Therefore they set out to create an autonomous base which can be used for a variety of operations. It was to carry many more batteries for more power, longer duration of operation, larger range, and significantly increased payload carrying capabilities.

2. Some more pictures of the Kalyani guns would be great, especially their ultra light howitzer.
3. DRDO and VEM are displaying a variety of gimballed systems. Could you please find out more?
4. Display-boards: Manik engine, Nakshatra Aerostat
