Would Bakis stop with the resolution of Kashmir?

Bakis are paranoid about India and kashmir is a small part of the whole picture as they see it. Assuming Kashmir is solved they will latch on to some other issue to re-create victimhood narrative. It is a tool used by the Bak army to maintain its supremacy and grab all the resources. The *eternal* dusman narrative also helps bind the whole of Bakiland against one common enemy.

BTW, they have already classified India as *eternal* dusman. You understand what that means in the long-run right? From their POV, till India exists they are always at risk. Implicit in that assumption is that for Bakiland to survive India MUST be destroyed. This is why their leaders of past had advocated death by 1000 cuts. So what does that mean for long-tern security of India and what must India do? I will leave that for the readers but the answer is obvious.

Anyone who falls for Perkovich's argument is delusional.

I think these American experts can think of freely giving California to Pakistan for peace, there is a reference in some hadith that California belongs to Pakistan, this will ensure India-Pak peace.

Learn to ignore the 'reasons' given out by these american experts, the only reason I can think is the wars for israel military complex in usa needs more radicalized footsoldiers for their meddle eastern adventures from the bhooka-nanga pakjabi populace. They are quarantining this population, radicalizing them further for mid-eastern adventures.

Meantime back in Cwapistan :

EEC meeting : Power consumers to pay for CPEC security
ISLAMABAD : Irrespective of his income level, every electricity consumer of the country will pay for CPEC security of the multi-billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
“The ECC approved a summary of the Ministry of Water and Power for issuance of a policy directive to Nepra [National Electric Power Regulatory Authority] to allow 1% of the capital cost (of the project) on account of [CPEC’s] security,” announced Finance Ministry Ishaq Dar after chairing the ECC Meeting
"Providing security is our responsibility. They [Chinese] are working in our country,” said Defence Minister Khawaja Asif.
The ECC also allowed Habib Bank Limited to open a bank branch in Urumqi area of China, as increasing economic cooperation is creating more business opportunities.i.e. Funding of Uyghur Terrorists in Xinjiang

This passage should also be quoted
The electricity consumers are already paying various kinds of charges like Neelum Jehlum power project surcharge, Pakistan Television Fee, circular debt interest payment surcharge and power cost recovery surcharge.

Posters and promotions
Cruising along the famous avenues of Pakistan’s leading urban centres, you couldn’t miss those billboards with the picture of a smiling Raheel Sharif, accompanied by a short message in Urdu asking him to take over.

The civil authorities had the posters removed while the government contemplated ways to counter this open call to flout the country’s constitution.

Subsequent developments have the citizens wondering what was going on. The ISPR denied involvement. However, the puppet department owned up to the posters – asserting their infinite love for the army chief. The maulana for all seasons came forward, for once articulating commonly felt angst by calling the poster campaign as an act of treason. Then came the news of the arrests and likely prosecution of those blatantly calling for a military takeover.

Some speculate that the army chief’s impending retirement or his potential extension is behind the poster episode. In other words, abhi tau party shuru hui hai.

‘Move on Pakistan’ is the latest eruption in the multifaceted crisis the present government has faced starting with the Imran-Qadri show of strength in 2014, inviting the third umpire to intervene. Their hubris melted away once the umpire told them to calm down.

Sunni Terrorist Fragments of Unstable Pakistan-13 June,2016

Post by Peregrine »

Expose: Pakistan’s lame, apathetic foreign service

“The arrow shot by the archer may or may not kill a single person. But stratagems devised by a wise man can kill even babes in the womb.” ― Chanakya Kautilya

Long before Narendra Modi took over, India chalked out a comprehensive plan to marginalise and defame Pakistan globally. Islamabad’s incompetent political leaders, rash generals and lousy bureaucrats unknowingly contributed their fair share. Yes, it sounds disturbing and even melodramatic. But it’s very true.

After the Indian military took one month to mobilise along the border with Pakistan following an attack on the Parliament, the then Vajpayee-led Indian government sought a standardised plan against Pakistan. The doctrine that resulted was called the Cold Start.

Besides, various localised thrust of military hardware aimed at inflicting damage to the adversary and eventually disabling the use of a nuclear option, it assigned equal significance to the government’s diplomatic arm – the external affairs ministry – to portray Pakistan as the “epicenter of terrorism”. The Indian media which rarely challenges the South Block built the narrative which Indian diplomats efficiently propagated through official and unofficial channels.

Meanwhile, Islamabad basked in the narcissism of General (retd) Pervez Musharraf with his political opposition treating its wounds in Jeddah and London.

So now, India has taken off both its gloves and mask. The war drums are beating with chorus of Hindutva militia at full pitch.

India’s policy used in the past will be maintained by war or war mongering. The Pakistani military might be ready and armed-to-teeth but there is one huge gap in its defenses: the country’s lousy foreign ministry and its venal diplomats.

After over two-dozen background interviews, this correspondent has been able to synthesise some of the core flaws confronting the efficiency of Pakistan’s foreign ministry.

Being the second largest Muslim country and the sixth most populous nation, Pakistan has a significant diplomatic footprint in the world. The number of Pakistani embassies has grown and so has the staff deputed there. Over the past three decades, however, the country’s civil services have steadily declined in terms of quality of manpower, training and motivation. This may have a lot to do with politicisation of bureaucracy as well as the military’s soaring interference.

Currently, the ambassadors appointed can be divided in three categories; career diplomats, retired military officers (ranging from colonels to generals) and political appointees, including mid-level bankers such as those in Qatar to top-notch journalists like Dr Maleeha Lodhi. The mix baggage brings out mixed results. Not all career diplomats know what they are supposed to do while not every political appointee or ex-military man is there to enjoy the perks.

There is little or no communication between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other institutions of national security and internal security of Pakistan. One example is that of Pakistan’s policy on drone strikes. While the Ministry of Foreign Affairs printed reams of paper on Pakistan’s anger and protests on drone strikes, the United States’ CIA and Pakistan’s military were both cooperating on drone strikes and targeting of alleged militants.

Brainstorming at any level is non-existent in the ministry of foreign affairs.

The additional secretaries’ meeting is the only forum in the ministry where some sort of minimal discussion or brainstorming takes place. However, this is only at the highest level and does not engage even the director or director general level officers. From the additional secretary level to the assistant director, 99 per cent of the effort consists of writing inane and clichéd talking points and worthless noting on irrelevant files. They are precisely glorified clerks mostly playing the role of postmen.

The result is that the foreign policy is made mostly on whim and dictation from either the General Headquarters or the prime minister’s office leading to U-turns and last-minute fire-fighting. A case in point can be the Torkham border-crossing row with Afghanistan, when the Foreign Office was unaware of the discussions between the army and the Afghan ambassador.

Despite major back-to-back challenges such as Indian nuclear tests in 1998, followed by September 11 attacks, the Pakistani foreign ministry could not establish a round-the-clock crisis center. Pakistani embassies in Mexico or Argentina have to comply with Islamabad’s office timing in case a diplomat bothers to reach out to the headquarters on some important matter. How many countries in a similar situation can rely on a 9:00am to 3:00pm standard office routine?

With career planning virtually non-existent, there is no co-relation between language training and foreign posting. In many cases, officers are never sent to the country whose language they have learnt, thus they lose the ability to either speak or write in it.

While there is no foreign policy evolution process at work, there is no regional, bilateral or multi-lateral specialisation. An officer serving in New Delhi might be posted to Pretoria in South Africa. Eventually most Pakistani diplomats remain amateurs with very basic skills of knowing know how to wear a tie and a suit and lock themselves up in embassies or consulates.

Further, Pakistan which is involved in major legal disputes has the weakest international law expertise in international law. The international law offices are a sick pretention of the capacity in the ministry, thus leading to an outsourcing of cases to legal fraternity in the private sector. Obviously, no lessons were learnt from the downing of Pakistan Navy’s spy plane by India or failure to win litigation on the water conflict. There are bound to be more legal issues with India.

On the contrary, Indian embassies maintain a better quality of service with particular emphasis on public policy and community engagement. The media narrative which is already damaging to Pakistan is further supplemented by Indian journalists working in foreign countries such as the Gulf region and North America. While the state largely controls the media in the GCC region, the English language newspapers are flooded with anti-Pakistan headlines while nothing critical can be published against the ruler of another friendly country, Egypt’s Sisi regime. There is a total inability of writing anything beyond ill-composed letters to the editor. Op-ed articles by Pakistani diplomats are un-imaginable and media monitoring at embassy-level is negligible as most diplomats take press coverage as fait accompli.

While one of the primary tasks of embassies is consular service, there is absolutely no training of Foreign Service officers in such matters. In fact the quintessential training of a Pakistani diplomat is antithetical to compassion, kindness and empathy needed for the consular work. Such traits are never sought after in an officer when posting to consular missions catering to large Pakistan expatriates. There are able exceptions of some extremely capable consular officers, but very rare!

Though they join the service after passing Central Superior Services’ examination, 60 to 70 per cent of Pakistani diplomats cannot speak simple English while addressing audiences in universities and think tanks. Blame the quota system if you will or the foreign ministry itself, which lacks anything but discipline and focus. Even in cases where they do speak, the diplomats are totally bereft of intellectual depth or the ability to speak beyond clichéd, hackneyed briefs which are of zero interest to well informed audiences in Europe and North America.

One case in point was the total lack of response to the poisonous anti Pakistan narrative spun out of Toronto by Tariq Fateh and his gang of half a dozen followers. Their connections for funding and narrative are abundantly well known. Over the last decade, nobody amongst the Pakistani diplomats in prized stations such as Washington DC, New York, Los Angeles and Toronto invested enough effort and intellectual depth to counter on shallow and venomous narratives of Fateh’s ilk. Then, it was only the individual effort or un-official audacity of a diplomat and some expatriate Pakistanis in Canada who demolished the inaccurate. Majority of Pakistani diplomats are devoid of such caliber, motivation and absolute knowledge of history and affairs.

In the age of alternate media, tragically, Pakistani diplomats are utterly untrained in using social media for foreign policy objectives. So far, ministry of foreign affairs has not held a single workshop on use of social media whereas such trainings are held routinely in small private sector organizations. Therefore, lack of resources cannot be an excuse for lack of vision and total ignorance from advanced in communication.

The embassy websites are another fiasco. Lacking a standardized format, the information provided is rarely updated, and most insufficient to answer the basic questions. Top foreign ministry officials along with the ones posted in embassies rely on Gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo for official communication. Mostly the Facebook pages and Twitter handles of ambassadors and embassies are non-existent, and those having account are not all active. WhatsApp and Viber provide the best hotlines.

The foreign ministry direly necessitates massive restructuring and reforms. The government needs to debate as whether it must take officers from the CSP pool or those who appear and pass through rigorous evaluation process specifically evolved for the country’s future diplomats. Should the diplomats be attending the courses for promotion with other bureaucrats (baboos) of grade 19 and beyond? The question of promotion criteria is equally crucial. Should not their specialization, dedication, analytical skills, foreign language proficiency to be forming the criteria, to name a few? Ominous is acute dearth of analytical skills in the diplomatic corps employed by Islamabad given fast-paced developments, realignments in the region and world as well as conflict deepening or emerging.

To a significant extent, apathy toward Foreign Service academy is to be blamed as well. From communication skills to the art of negotiation, the training leaves a lot to be desired. The stiff-necked young officers it churns out are too lightweight to keep up the traditions of Sir Zafarullah Khan, Pitras Bokhari, and Sahibzada Yaqub Khan et al. The academy should not only be the focal point not for training but also career planning, and specialized and advanced courses too.

Non-diplomatic staff is another thorn in the neck. They are no different in aspiration and selfish pursuits than the ambassador and the other diplomatic staff. Lacking proper training, devoid of local language and charmed by facilities abroad, often such clerks and secretaries act like ambassadors within community and mint money in return for their assigned jobs.

To forward Pakistan’s national interest and to counter India’s Cold Start doctrine, the foreign ministry can’t be left in the cold. If ambassador Tariq Fatemi is not abreast of the flaws and ready to reform, who else would!

British had prevented Pak from having relations with Soviet Russia for 70 years as part of the great Game and geo politics during the cold war.

British had made sure that Pak military had no relations to Russia military and had a foe relations.

Army Chief’s Retirement to Test Civilian Rule in Pakistan
------->
Generals have dominated Pakistan’s coup-ridden 69-year history—heading military governments, fomenting opposition against elected governments, and pulling strings behind the scenes during periods of nominal civilian control. If Gen. Raheel Sharif steps down as chief of army staff, it would be the first time anyone has left the military’s most powerful job as scheduled in two decades.

Prime Minister Sharif is determined not to extend Gen. Sharif’s tenure—a step the premier sees as important in instilling civilian primacy in the tug of war for power between Pakistan’s elected politicians and the military—according to senior aides. Mr. Sharif appointed the general to his post, which carries a three-year term, in 2013. The two aren’t related.

<snip>

Gen. Sharif said in January that he intended to retire on time, saying, “I don’t believe in extension.” A military spokesman didn’t respond to requests for comment.

Given the country’s continuing battle with terror groups, and the fact that Gen. Sharif hasn’t attempted a coup, some of the prime minister’s closest advisers have urged him to keep the officer in his job after his fixed retirement date, aides to Mr. Sharif say. Some civilian officials say Gen. Sharif has also asked for more time, something the military denies.

Examination of Twitter posts of cine artistes from the Mohammadden Terrorist fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan by article author apparently shows cine artistes from the Mohammadden Terrorist fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan do condemn Mohammadden terror attacks but not those Mohammadden Terrorist attack fomented in their country that targets India and Indians. Apparently fellow Abrahamic Christists in the eyes of cine artistes from the Mohammadden Terrorist fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan working in India are entitled to special courtesies that Hindu Kaafirs are not. Hindu Kaafirs in the eyes of cine artistes from the Mohammadden Terrorist fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan working in India are apparently only good to extract money.

Anyway, more than cine artistes from the Mohammadden Terrorist fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan, fellow Indian’s who have employed them must be relentlessly targeted and boycotted within Constitutional/Legal boundaries. Our BJP led Government of PM Narendra Modi must also be targeted within Legal and Constitutional boundaries to stop hypocrisy of claiming being tough on the Islamic Republic of Pakistan even as the continue issue of fresh visas and renewal of old visas for cine artistes from the Mohammadden Terrorist fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Starting today make it a point to yourself boycott movies that have cine artistes from the Mohammadden Terrorist fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan and work all out to make those in your circle of influence do the same:

How important are Pakistani actors to Bollywood?

Disappointing that the our BJP led Government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which otherwise loves bragging about how tough they are against the depredations of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, manufactures an excuse to do nothing

When the BJP led Government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not prepared to forgo a paltry amount on account of trade, how realistic is it to expect that they can take even the smallest step to retaliate against the depredations of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan? :

Pakistan’s MFN tag may stay for now

Aakar Patel is somewhat on the right path, but not entirely correct.

Even within the Jat caste, there is fairly explicit difference between those who converted to Islam and those who remained Hindu or Sikh. For evidence just check out the South Asian community in the UK...A very large section of UK Indians is Jat - as is the dominant section of UK Pakistanis. Again check out the stark difference in attainment between these communities to get to the obvious inference - it is the bottom part of the Jat caste by IQ that converted, similar to the situation with other castes in the subcontinent.

Bottomline- Its not just about caste but very much about the bottom-feeding nature of the religion of Islam as well.

Most devices/software have an erase option but such options do not *completely* wipe out the data. Just makes it a more specialized recovery.

A while back read a report stating that the GOI has asked for US help. My assumption is that they are asking for help getting the *erased* data back. There is still hope but that is the risk of sharing proofs which in any case if a fruitless exercise.

No guarantee that the device it self will not be destroyed by the Khan, in an innocent mistake.

I don't think so, not on the GPS service provider (which is the US Govt) certainly since the GPS is just a signal broadcast and not a two-way application. But perhaps on the servers of the mapping/navigation application.

It has started, the vested interests . . . .the chorus will start now, cries of intolerance, Hindutva etc.

The trick I see nowadays is that all these people who defend relationship with Pakis start off with their sympathies for the martyred jawans and then in utter disrespect for their lives sally forth on maintaining relationship with the terrorist state as though nothing has happened.

Is this guy an Indian first or somebody else?

Karan Johar: Banning Pak artistes not a solution - ToI
Filmmaker Karan Johar says his heart bleeds for the lives lost in the Uri terror attack and he understands the anger in the country but boycotting artistes from Pakistan is no solution to terrorism.

Johar's comment comes after MNS threatened Pakistani artistes like Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan to leave India, failing which the shooting of their films would be stalled.

Fawad stars in Johar's upcoming film 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', which is slated to release this Diwali.

"I understand the anger and the anguish that surround us and I empathise, my heart bleeds for the lost lives. There is nothing that can justify this terrible feeling of terror. Then you are faced in a situation such as this (asking for ban on Pak artistes). If this was truly a solution, one would take it, {Surely, it is not 'the' solution, but it is one of 'the' solutions. You took a risk with the Pakistani artiste knowing well that such a situation could develop any time, but you are now demanding that the entire country put up with terrorism and death of our soldiers and civilians not only to defray your costs but also allow you to earn your profits. There is not even a guarantee that these Pakistani artistes are not diverting a part of their Indian income to terrorism against us.}" the director told a news channel.

"But this is not a solution. I don't believe it is. The larger forces have to come together and sort the situation and this cannot be banning talent or art."

The 44-year-old filmmaker said he feels 'vulnerable' while speaking about it publicly.

"I feel vulnerable and scared while even saying this. I completely feel the pain and anger. If my film is targeted because of this, it will make me exceptionally sad because my intent was to put out a product out of love and nothing else."

When asked how he will deal with these threats, Johar said, "I don't know... I beseech everyone to look at it holistically and understand the situation, that there is a larger situation here and it has nothing to do with banning talent. Let's look at it from a larger perspective and find the answer."

The director said sometimes creative people feel so frustrated that they just want to fold hands and say 'Leave us alone'."

"I am not somebody who can find the answer. I am nobody in that scheme of things. I am just a filmmaker, telling a love story. Today I feel, I am a vulnerable soft target. I have faced it, felt the repercussions of it in the past and I have constantly combated that.

"Sometimes, you just want to fold your hands and say, 'We are creative industry. Please leave us alone. We make movies, we spread love. There are millions in the world, in our country who are happy with the work we do, allow us that...' I think we should not be those soft targets anymore. We don't matter in the scheme of things but we can make things happier and better," he said.

Problem with all this nonsensical debates in India about pee-pee contact, MFN etc is that its re-infoces equal equal: Both countries are the same except for "extremists on both sides". And then we go begging to USA and others to declare TSP a terror state. Where the f!ck is ModiJi's and BJP's leadership on this? Why can't he lead from the front and cancel this MFN crap? Why doesn't BJP follow suit in banning Paki pipsqueaks to come to India, make a living and instead of shaming their military instead do an equal equal with India? In fact, I would go further. Why can't ModiJi or someone likes say home minister or finance minister say while India welcomes Paki artists, they have a a burden on their shoulder to call on their countrymen to eschew terror. This is following the familiar patterns. And now pretty soon, ModiJi will be making plans to attend SAARC. All of this tamasha until the next attack.

Also, the problem if I may add is not the love of Paki, or lack of cojones, or lack of nationalism, but perhaphs low IQ. Please see this interview (sorry for hurting people's sensibilities, but I do so just to make a point at large) with Karan Johar punk and those dim-wits gathered in the audience, notwithstanding the Paki host:

http://www.ndtv.com/video/news/news/exc ... eststories

The correct question to ask is while banning Paki artists may or may not solve the Paki terror problem, but the issue is, do these Paki artists not have a responsibility to show moral leadership and make statements that shame their pigLeTs and army and ISI? Note the Paki host does not ask that question.

Baki artists pay taxes and hafta to you know who(and get killed if they dont).

That itself is reason enough to kick em out.
