Vayu Aerospace is doing a good job (via Twitter) in covering this event. Lots of interesting stuff. I will post some, but for jingos who want the full experience, please go here ---> https://twitter.com/ReviewVayu
If a group of posters want to take the lead to post stuff here from Vayu and other sources, it would be greatly appreciated. But please post the link of the image(s) when posting. Creating content is not easy, so a simple courtesy and acknowledgement goes a long way.

MoUs worth Rs 1,53,000 crore signed at DefExpo 2022, says official.
As many as 451 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements worth Rs 1.53 lakh crore were signed during the Defence Expo or DefExpo 2022 at Gandhinagar, a senior official said.
During the valedictory function of the 12th edition of DefExpo at the Mahatma Mandir convention centre, Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar informed the audience that it had broken previous records in terms of business generation.
"This was the most outstanding defence expo ever. It saw the highest number of exhibitors, which is in addition to tens of thousands of business visitors. The extent of business this defence expo has generated has surpassed all the previous records," said Kumar.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat were among those present on the dais during the function.
"In the last defence expo, which was held in 2020 in Lucknow, 201 MoUs were signed. I am happy to report that today, 451 MoUs and agreements were signed. It involves an estimated amount of Rs 1,53,000 crore," said Kumar.
MoUs and agreements were signed between "industry and industry, industry and state governments and industry and central government," he said. The 12th edition of Defence Expo was the best to date and heralded an era of empowerment for the Indian defence sector, said Union minister Singh.
"This is the beginning of self-reliance in the Indian Defence sector. This expo has shown that the future belongs to India. This expo has also shown that India will become a global defence manufacturing hub," Singh added.

Re: Defence Expo 2022: 18 - 22 October 2022
Question for the Arty experts here.
The MGS - because of the way the gun is mated to the chassis - can it fire in all directions or is it restricted to only fire in the direction the barrel is pointed in the picture in this thread?
If the gun cannot traverse then we have a problem no?

Re: Defence Expo 2022: 18 - 22 October 2022
I would assume it has some limited ability to traverse -- let's say +/- 30 degrees from the longitudinal (fore-and-aft) line of the vehicle body. Making it fixed (i.e. zero traverse) would IMO be too stupid to pass even a PDR, let alone be approved for manufacture. But of course that's just my assumption.ks_sachin wrote:If the gun cannot traverse then we have a problem no?
Re: Defence Expo 2022: 18 - 22 October 2022
I believe the gun in the picture is this ---> Bharat Forge Ltd 155mm 39 calibre MArG on a 4x4 HMV.ks_sachin wrote:Question for the Arty experts here.

The gun in the picture is not this video. This is 155mm 39 caliber and seems to have 4 roadwheels. It is MArG. It is also in Kalyani's website.
The MGS is 155 mm 52 cal on a vehicle with 8 road wheels. The specs should be on the info board but it is too hard to read.

Re: Defence Expo 2022: 18 - 22 October 2022
There is more than one type of gun in the above video. Likely Bharat Forge had multiple prototypes. And one of those guns in the video does match the picture posted. Where did you get this picture from?Anujan wrote:^^^

Info board reads ---> Only 155mm / 39 caliber gun system mounted on 4x4 HMV in the world.Anujan wrote:The MGS is 155 mm 52 cal on a vehicle with 8 road wheels. The specs should be on the info board but it is too hard to read.
The above picture is *NOT* a 52 cal gun.

So they seem to be different guns. MArG and MGSMounted Gun System (MGS)
There has long been attention on the 155 millimetre (mm), 52 calibre (cal) Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS), which the DRDO is developing in partnership with the Tata and Kalyani groups. Now, without fanfare, the DRDO has produced an offshoot of the ATAGS — called the 155 mm/52 cal Mounted Gun System (MGS) — which could become a battle winner that is central to the army’s firepower menu.
