More F-16s for PAF are coming! Thank goodness, the SE contest was never awarded to LM.Rakesh wrote:The 18 F-16C/D Block 50/52 models will serve for another 40 years. They were delivered around 2010. There is an option for another 18 more, which will be exercised in due course. To be quite honest, there will be a sale of the F-16 Block 70/72 variant to the PAF in the years ahead and their Block 50/52 models will also get the Block 70/72 upgrade. That is going to happen. The Block 70/72 will come, along with a batch of AIM-120C7/8s (among other weaponry) as they already have the AIM-120C5. America will not sell the F-35 to Pakistan, because of China. And thus the next best route is the Block 70/72.

Re: Pakistan Armed Forces: News & Discussion
I find the Pakistan Army is just the modern iteration of the Mughal system. The Corp commander are just like regional kings, Islam the state religion, and urdu the state language. It is designed to extract resources from the area and make money to the detriment of the population including the cultural, ethnic, and linguistic diversity. The thing that is very problematic for them is they've run out of non-believers to exploit which is putting pressure on their very own Muslim population. In today's world if you have an extractive colonial political setup and don't innovate the talent leaves for elsewhere (brain drain). Therefore, this system is destined for disintgration and colonization by others.
When the Mughal went into terminal decline, the faced the same challenges that the Pakjabi Army is facing today. The consumption demand of the Mughal state apparatus and it's allies within the society outstripped the extractive capability. The institution itself began to fracture and at the same time they began facing armed resistance from society. The problems just kept multiplying. The so called new Medina won't last. India just has to wait and watch. That's it.

Pakistan has been held together (the glue) so far and in future by Islam and Hindu hatred. Any day, to prop up the public, all it takes for both Civil & Military leadership to sell the Hindu / Hindustan bogey to unite the nation. So unless the locals of PoJK, Gilgit & Baltistan ask the Indian government for help & that they are ready to join the Indian state, there is very little we can do at this time. The other opportunity will be when there is a war initiated by Pakistan as any Indian offensive would lead to the situation of the Pak Generals telling these same people "I told / warned you so". What we do with the majority Punjabi population there is another puzzle to solve.

Well in India we have our own satraps in state parties and bureaucrats down to the local police so it is a subcontinental disease that like the jahagirdars refuses to go away. Just because Bakis have it openly doesn’t make our faults any less. I hope this PoJK canard is muted down beyond psyops. They allocate better resources than our MoD, we make glossy brochures and then run around for screws; I hope we are not found out relying just on the sheer will of our jawans

Technical Problems Ground Myanmar’s JF-17 Fighter Jets Bought From China
Most of the newly acquired Chinese and Pakistan-made JF-17 fighter jets that the Myanmar regime has taken delivery of have been grounded due to technical malfunctions, according to analysts and former Myanmar Air Force pilots who monitor the junta’s air capabilities.
The JF-17 fighters—lightweight multi-role combat aircraft jointly manufactured by China and Pakistan—that the Myanmar Air Force has added to its fleet have structural cracks and other technical issues, they told The Irrawaddy.
...
The critical part of the JF-17 avionics is the China-made KLJ-7 Al radar, which has poor accuracy and maintenance problems, analysts say. The aircraft does not even have an effective beyond-visual-range (BVR) missile or airborne interception radar.
Malfunction of the Weapon Mission Management Computer has caused launch zones of BVR air-to-air missiles to shrink during combat exercises, according to experts.
Furthermore, the airframe is vulnerable to damage, especially in its wingtips and hardpoints, when the aircraft encounters strong gravitational forces, according to a former pilot of the Myanmar Air Force.
Re: Pakistan Armed Forces: News & Discussion
Islam isn't enough to keep a state together. Pakistan Army is the collusive and exploitive apparatus (Sultans and nobles) and Islam (Ulema) is the marketing ploy for suckers (believers/employees) to justify it's own existence. However, as you will see it progress is into something more sophisticated than this. Initially the entity implants itself into society and will depend on exorbitant taxation of basic goods and services which it will do exclusively on its own. But it undergoes something akin to a metamorphosis into an oligarchy when it expands it's tentacles into all sectors of the economy. It is only then establishes itself into a purely collusive entity. This is critical for power projection into territories beyond it's control as it is able to garner all resources of the state for this purpose.konaseema wrote:Pakistan has been held together (the glue) so far and in future by Islam and Hindu hatred. The PA coined something called "strategic depth". My reading is it is another word for rent seeking on a massive scale. In other words, it is colonization. Colonization typically gets masked by the colonizer with words like democratization, liberalization, etc. The word to mask intention is an outcome of the socio-political and cultural milieu in which the colonizing country is based but the outcome is the same. In this case 'strategic depth' is appropriate.
Oligarchies typically utilize agents within the host territory to bend the rules to favor it's own companies or companies of partner states (China) to engage in rent seeking. Rents in this case being the revenue from resources generated as a result of state capture. This also extends to protection/lobbying services. These agents act as an interface between the state and society. We call them dalals. The haqqani network is one such example.

IAF smashes pig sty in Balakote killing 350 Uniformed trainers and Non uniformed Jihadis, PAF fails to hit ground targets, 5 Amraam's aimed at a Su-30 miss, multiple Amraam's fired at 1 Mig 21 Bison to take it down, 1 Amraam fired at retreating MIG 21 Bison falls in Reasi district J&K, rest of PAF quickly runs away when More MIG 21 Bison, 4 Mig 29 from Udampur and 4 SU 30 MKI approach from Adampur airbase.
No wonder Swift Retreat was so successful Pakis released Group Captain Abhbinandan.
All this when handicapped by R-77 AE, today there are meteor, Derby Er and Astra Mk1. Despite propaganda the J-10 with PL-15 I don't think will be better the AIm 120C, I suspect on 27 Feb 19 the US had secretly given the Pakis some Aim 120 C-7 and not the AIm 120 C-5s alone, these were used to target the SU-30s thats why the PAf came with all bravado.

Turkiye’s STM Delivers 2nd Upgraded Agosta 90B-Class Submarine To Pakistan Navy
STM, one of the leading companies in the Turkish defence sector, has completed another critical milestone in its successful export projects. The second submarine, PNS/M KHALID (S-137), was delivered to Pakistan Naval Forces Command at a ceremony held, marking the latest step in the project to modernize three AGOSTA 90B class submarines.
The submarines’ sonar suites, periscopes, command and control systems, naval data distribution systems, converters, steering control systems, chilled water systems, and radar & electronic support systems are all being replaced. Systems produced by numerous indigenous and national companies, including ASELSAN and HAVELSAN, are also being exported within the scope of the Project. All hull-related structural modifications, materials, and workmanship activities carried out on the submarines under the modernization project have been certified by the international classification society DNV (Dat Norske Veritas).

Thanks Saar for the article.
Very interesting to read about the systems upg.
I have always thought of the Turks as the German B team for weapons.
Since Naval Grp won't do the certifications and the bird has no experience with French subs but are fairly experienced with U boats, I suspect the weapons suite may have German origins.
