Pakistan Armed Forces: News & Discussion
Re: Pakistan Armed Forces: News & Discussion
None of the Army welfare trust entities (factories, farms etc) pay any taxes. None of the large "agriculturalists" pay any taxes.
It is the common abduls, traders and salaried folk that are paying taxes in Pakistan.
Time for them to rise up and do a french revolution equivalent.

Is this some clever marketing to make sure the Reaper orders pass through before the Rustom 2 orders come through? I don't Ukraine will be in a position to supply Engines to the Akinci Drones for some years to come.

One fallout of Russia Ukraine war is that Ukraine will be more aligned with India's enemies than before.
Are we getting rid of any dependencies on Ukraine? And will a prosperous Ukraine in future become headache to India?

Madam seems to have smoked some of the finest before typing the following words...
Lalwani’s paper doesn’t mention how Pakistan helped China over years in military technological terms. For instance, the role played by the PAF in fine-tuning the design of the JF-17 Thunder, which is a co-development and co-production project. Pakistan could help because of its knowledge of both Chinese and the better-quality western technology that also meant a better sense of quality control and standardisation than what the Chinese originally had.

For anyone interested here is the POF product catalogue:

Interesting that they make a sasta version of the 3BM-42 with more weight and similar "claimed" performances.
This is their best FSAPDS.

It doesn't matter. Nuclear weapons, especially the hidden ones, will ensure that this military institution remains in power for a while. There is also the knowhow and expertise which can leak. It has a strategic location and is being sought after by SCO and Western alliance. Food, $, etc. Will all be taken care of by international community just like Ukraine.Manish_P wrote:As per paki news reports, Bajwa hinted to the media that their military has been low on fuel and other supplies for some time now.Jay wrote:

-Wing Commander Naseem Ahmed"While the JF-17’s engine comes from Russia and other major components like the radar are from China, most of the actualmanufactureassembly of the fighter jet takes place in Kamra in Pakistan,” he said. “In terms of cost, Pakistan accounts for 10to 40per cent of the JF-17.”
Pakis barely make 10% of the Bandar by cost.

A country from South America with many parallels to ours – some superficial and some tragic – has expressed interest in the jets for perhaps the same reasons that led Pakistan to develop them.
Cash-strapped, embargo stricken Argentina is the latest country to express a desire to purchase the JF-17 fighter. If the sale goes through, it could perhaps become the most significant operator of the type outside of Pakistan.
Speaking to The Express Tribune, Air Commodore (retd) Jamal Hussein said that one of the biggest selling points for the JF-17 is that is around 50 per cent cheaper to buy and operate than any other fighter aircraft that offers similar capability. “The unit cost of the latest Block 3 version of the JF-17 is only around $50 million, and this version comes with an AESA radar,” he pointed out.
He said that on paper, for instance the PL-15 missile that the JF-17 Block 3 can be armed with has a much longer range than the US-made AMRAAM and French MICA missiles. The latter is what the India’s newly acquired Rafale fighters are armed with.
“For an offensive operation, the JF-17 is not ideal. But if you’re looking for the air defence factor and are short on cash, the JF-17 is the best buy,” he observed. “For air combat, the JF-17 is more than capable and as an air defence fighter, it would suit an air force like Argentina’s perfectly. The only problem I foresee with this acquisition is how much influence the US can bring to bear.”

Source: hereNice "side by side" of a PLAN 054A FFG (in front) and the export variant for Pakistan, showing some equipment differences. Most obviously Type 382 radar with PLAN & SR2410C with PN, but also notably no VDS on Pakistan Navy hull. Via "Fulcum007"/SDF.
Big handicap.
Commies have them on their Type 054s(Later ones) though.

PAF seeks ‘record of gun owners’ within 5km radius of Nur Khan base in Rawalpindi - Yawn
I hope the aircraft that got halaled was the new second hand C-130 example from Belgianistan
AK misphyrrRAWALPINDI: The Noor Khan Airbase authorities have asked the local police and the commissioner to “maintain and share the data” of individuals possessing weapons within a five kilometres radius of the base for the purpose of ‘record keeping’.
The request of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) came in light of aerial firing around the base, recovery of more than 450 bullets besides chemical thread, and damage to a cabin’s windscreen by stray bullets in Feb this year.
Since the incident happened on February 24, the base authorities have asked the commissioner, the regional police officer (RPO), and the city police officer (CPO) a number of times to enhance security arrangements to curb aerial firing and impose Section 144 in the area to stop the menace.
According to sources, the PAF base authorities asked the local police to maintain and share the data of all those people possessing weapons in a five-kilometre radius for “record-keeping”.
According to sources, a similar request to the divisional commissioner and police had been made about two weeks before the Feb 24 incident. Still, the authorities were unable to keep a check on the firing in the vicinity of the airbase, particularly Fazal Town, Khurram Colony, Muslim Town, Dhoke Gangal, Dhoke Lalyal, Chah Sultan, Dhoke Khabba, Dhoke Elahi Buksh, and Dhoke Farman Ali.
This type of firing has disturbed flight operations; recently two stray bullets hit the windscreen of a service mechanical transport signal cabin at the airbase.
The PAF authorities, while terming these instances worrying, claimed that such practices pose a severe threat to the lives of staffers, working round the clock to maintain service aircraft, in addition to endangering the safety of national assets.
The authorities also requested the district administration and police to curb this tendency through various search operations around the airfield to avoid any untoward incident and impose Section 144 in the entire area in the vicinity of the base. They also asked the police to conduct search operations in Shaheen Town, Sadiqabad, Asghar Mall Scheme, Affandi Colony and Dhoke Khabba on a priority basis.
The Nur Khan Base authorities have been asking the district administration and police from time to time to conduct search operations in the base’s surroundings to check aerial firing but a crackdown in this regard is still awaited.
I hope the aircraft that got halaled was the new second hand C-130 example from Belgianistan

Pakistan Air Force crisis: 250 fighter jet to retire; seeks Chinese jets.
Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is facing a crisis as it needs to retire its ageing fleet of aircraft in a decade. According to a report, PAF will phase out its 250 aircraft.
The PAF is finally phasing out its oldest fighter jet French-built Mirage III. Another fleet of Mirage 5 is also under the retirement plan.
However, the only viable option for Pakistan is the Chinese- built next-generation aircraft like J-10C.
Under the modernization plan, PAF has already purchased 22 J-10 CE fighter jets. In fact, according to the deal, PAF may acquire another 100 jets with specific enhancements.
The J-10C is a four-plus generation medium-sized fighter jet. The J-10C holds an upgraded jet engine than the China-Pakistan jointly developed lightweight fighter jet, the JF-17, currently being used by the PAF
While JC-10 comes with a fully integrated weapon, avionic and combat system, it lacks a bigger active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar than the one used by the JF-17 Block 3.
However, it can carry more advanced, air-to-air missiles including the short-range PL-10 and the beyond-visual-range PL-15.
The bulk purchase from China is also about the financing which Pakistan can leverage amid its economic turmoil.
The financial compulsion — cheaper loans from China—is the key factor for Pakistan’s modernization budget.
Besides, its existing fleet of US-built F-16s also demands overall upgradation and overhauling.
Reports suggest that Pakistan is also looking for KJ-500 early warning aircraft and Y-8 electronic warfare aircraft.

What's with navies having camo pattern uniforms?
Then they compound the offence by having high vis life vest.
Navies with such dresses should man up and give up on high vis life vest. If the objective is to make sure that sailors cannot be seen.
That will make sure that a sailor, if, overboard cannot be rescued.

After India-US pact for 31 Predator drones, Pakistan runs to china for uAV and weapons.
In light of India signing a pact with the US for acquisition of 31 top-notch weaponised Predator drones, which the defence forces intend to deploy along border areas, Pakistani authorities are scrambling to acquire a similar weapons system.
According to a Times Now report citing sources, Pakistan has inevitably turned to China to buy more Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and weapons.
India to kick off acquisition process for 31 armed drones from US in early July.
Pakistan currently operates 3 Chinese-made Cai Hong-4 drones -- unmanned aerial vehicles designed for reconnaissance, patrol, observation, and special operations. Cash-strapped Pakistan is looking to acquire 4 more such UAVs.
The CH-4 is similar to the US-made Predator drone but is known for its frequent 'technical snags'.
Significantly, the report said that Pakistan has also asked China for 8 AR-1 missiles that can fit the CH-4. The missile deal is estimated to be worth $1.7 million. The AR-1 has a maximum range of about 10km and can be launched from high altitudes. Experts say the AR-1 is similar to the American Hellfire air-to-ground missile.(With pakistani jazbaa it will be far superior )
Predator drones far superior
The “hunter-killer” MQ-9B Reaper or Predator-B drones, are designed to fly for around 40 hours at altitudes over 40,000-feet for surveillance missions and are armed with Hellfire air-to-ground missiles and smart bombs for precision strikes. They are far superior to China’s existing armed drones.
The deal for the 31 drones -- 15 Sea Guardians for Navy and eight Sky Guardians each for Army and IAF with their associated mobile ground control systems, weapons and other equipment -- is estimated to be worth around $3.5 billion. The official letter of request for the drones will be sent to the US government in the first week of July.
With nine 'hard points’ to carry missiles and smart bombs, the drones will bolster India’s long-range over-the-horizon ISR (intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) and strike capabilities both in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) as well as the land frontiers with China and Pakistan.
The plan is to deploy the drones at three tri-Service ISR command and control centres in the northwest, northeast and south India.

Its one of the ways for the cheen to counter the Indian build naval up in the A&N islands.
The blockading of the malacca straits has been a historical fear of the cheen and has been engaging their strategic thinkers incessantly
It's why they are entrenched in bangaladesh, and also in hambanthota
They have plans to interdict the chicken neck via the buildup in BD
remember, their original CPEC plans included kolkata.
they are serious about bypassing the malacca straits trap, but whether their solutions are really workable is a matter of discussion
