Hi Guys,

I have modified the forum software code so that the "Print All" button is displayed. The features works fine but please note the very first time anyone uses the button for a particular topic they either get blank screen or an encoding error message the user has to refresh his/her browser screen and then it will work fine.

Sorry for making you guys suffer so long! :)

Regards,

Thanks Seetal! Can you please modify the software to open links in new windows? That is sorely needed. I had posted a suggestion based on PhPBB documentation earlier.

Why does all the url s posted open in the same window instead of a new one ? I think it used to be like that before BRF was upgraded .Personally i think it is a pain to go back and forth .

Here you go RamaY an example

Code: Select all

Australia 12
South Africa 8
England 5
New Zealand 5
Pakistan 4
Sri Lanka 4
West Indies 3
Bangladesh 2
To do this wrap the table data with the "code" tags ...

BTW that is the no.of times Teams have lost a match after having a first inngs lead of more than 100 runs 8)

Is it possible to have distinct rows and columns (with borders), just like inserting table in MS-Word?

No. Columns can be seperated only by space (tabs) . In order to be able to have Word-like tables a bit of code has to be written to create custom tags.

Hi admins,

I use an Imac/minimac and cannot log into BR using Safari, Firefox or Icab. The login timed out on each attempt.

However I am able to log into BR using Explorer.

There could be some bugs preventing logins by Macusers.

Seetal,

Now I can't access BR from Explorer too. I can't access BR from any Imacs from the home or office using Safari, Firefox, Icab or even Explorer.

I am posting this message from a cybercafe. I can only access BR from PCs.

Can something be done?

Instead of typing the URL into the address bar, have you tried using the other browsers and accessing BR through Google search?

Admin Saars(respects to new ones!),

I would like to know whether a new thread could be dedicated to Obama effect and India or would it continue under the present presidential elections thread.

Dear webmasters,

1. Please have a software patch to autosize / autofit pictures posted on forum pages. I have access to photo cropping , resizing tools and I try not to disturb the page formatting. But a lot of the posters aren't able to do so.
Having the forum software auto-fit the picture to the forum page dimensions will take care of the page formatting once and for all

2. Inspite of me setting my time wrt my location, the forum pages keep showing various posts as per GMT (I think) or EST. Can this be corrected to reflect the post time in terms of my standard time?

Thanks

Had put my post in the wrong thread before.

My question is - can the forum software be enhanced to put an admin on my ignore list?

RSS for BR main page headlines?

Post by Sudip »

Hello
There is an urgent need to start an RSS type of system set up in Bharat Rakshak for the headlines. I understand the headlines r not those of BR but of other news agencies so it could b technically more tricky than setting up RSS in normal news site. But doing so would b a great thing. I think the site sorely needs that.
Keep up the good work

Maybe its been brought up here before, but for the past few weeks I regularly get MySQL Database errors on the forum, saying too many connections....It sorts out itself after a few minutes.

I guess the admins need to add more memory to the DB servers or use clustering 8)

Not that it's any of my business but, is the mySQL server crashing, leading to a manual restart....or is it just too many open mySQL connections?

I have no idea :D "crash" was a random selection of word to describe it.

I have a request to make.

The rule that BR must not discuss politics is quite an old one when the forum was not as diverse and evolved as it is now.

Besides, we allowed a long (and very boring to me) thread on the US elections.

May I ask admins to reconsider the closure of the poll thread on the strat forum?

I can't see new pics (and its album) added on Index page, under Army Site, under Recent Image Gallery Update, next to The IPKF Memorial in Sri Lanka. The IPKF Memorial in Sri Lanka can direct you to proper album but next to it doesn't.

you might want to consider increasing the number of sections - just three sections looks very inadequate

Defence.pk appears to have better categories on their forum. might want to adopt soething similar

Will improve forum experiance

You could also enable the quick reply box at the end of the thread page. Inconvinient to click on the post reply button every time you want to make a post
