Firing on Colaba Causeway, Cafe Leopold. Other incidents at the Oberoi hotel at Nariman Point, the Taj Palace and Towers.
Damn..office is at Nariman Point, right round the corner from Oberoi. I was at dinner at the Oberoi earlier, just got home..

A blast was also reported in Vile Parle in suburban Mumbai

Additional Commissioner of Police Deven Bharti confirmed the shootout at Colaba but did not give out details.

Two persons armed with automatic weapons and hand grenades are reportedly holed up inside CST station.

Sounds of gunshots are still being heard. Hundreds of onlookers gathered outside the station. The station and premises have been evacuated

Sources in the Cuffe Parade police station said that the police was still looking for the miscreants behind the firing at Colaba Causeway.

Eyewitnesses said that they heard at least 20 shots in CST station. Policemen and ambulances have rushed to the affected areas, they said.
A resident of Colaba and an eyewitness to some of the incidents said, "The police got news that there were explosions at the BMC headquarters in Lion Gate in South Mumbai. When the police arrived, the gangsters/terrorists fired at the police. As the police started chasing them towards the CST station, they opened indiscriminate fire."

There were reports of explosions from the BMC headquarter and Oberoi Hotel.

Wait for ATS to claim how LT COL did it. Praganya too. I guess they got out of ATS custody (since they know yoga and have practiced breaking away from jail, ATS has a video of that training) and fired upon people and are back. Sonia is happy and MMS is not loosing sleep.

Terror attacks in Mumbai; 2 dead, several injured

MUMBAI: Terrorists struck at India's financial capital late Wednesday night as at least five near-simultaneous firings and explosions rocked
areas in the vicinity of posh hotels in South Mumbai, leaving two persons dead and ten injured. ( Watch )

Armed with AK-47 rifles and grenades, a couple of terrorists entered the passenger hall of crowded Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminal (CST) railway station and opened fire and threw a grenade killing two to three persons, Mumbai General Railway Police Commissioner A K Sharma said. He did not give details.

He, however, said 10 persons, including a policeman, were injured in the CST incident.

Eyewitnesses said some people suspected to be terrorists entered the CST building from outside the reservation counter and opened fire indiscriminately.

Two explosions also went off outside CST and eyewitnesses reported they heard gunshots outside the railway station building.

Firing was reported at Colaba, Nariman Point and near Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminal, formerly Victoria Terminus, and it was still continuing.

Some people were injured in the firing near Trident hotel, formerly Oberoi hotel, and taken to a nearby hospital in police vans and ambulance.

4 Dead, two hotel are under siege...hostages taken.

The first shooting took place near the CST police station in which six people were injured.


Police have cordoned off the CST Railway Terminus, a crowded place at this time of the evening, and have stopped entry.


Press Trust of India reports two persons armed with automatic weapons and hand grenades are holed up inside the CST station.


Mumbai’s police commissioner confirmed there had been shootouts in several places in the city.


At CST


Unidentified persons also opened random firing near Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, headquarters of the Central Railway, which is a world heritage building and remains crowded almost throughout the day.


A police official said he saw two people, armed with automatic weapons, at CST.


"They opened indiscriminate fire and fled inside. They are reported to be holed up between platform seven and eight," he said.

nobody seems to have a freakin clue about the true extent or if they
know are keeping very quiet about it until their political handlers figure
out how to craft a message of yindu terrorists on this , preferably after
the real ones have decamped into the dark night.

I thank CNN/IBN , ( Eng\Hindi ) for giving us "clean" news.

Thanks Sardesai/Ghose/Chaubey , at 11.58 PM this turd confirms it "might" be a terrorist attack.

all I hear from race course road & 10 janpath are loud snores. strict orders not to be disturbed until 8:30am tomorrow.

you poor mumbai residents will have to manage on your own. the NSG
cannot be sent because it might hurt minority sentiments.

I am sure MK Narayanan, is going to call up IB and RAW chief and give them an earful. As this is occurring during election time. Can't wait for RAW chief to leave next month. It is becoming like Saudi intel agency (only know how to write cheques).

Whatever happens, they will probably spin the outcome to, show how Yeevil Yindu's are involved.
