Yes. AL had won a contract from Honduras Armed Forces for export of Stallion some time back.

In this photo provided by the Indian Army, an Indian Army contingent rehearses in the backdrop of the India Gate landmark monument in New Delhi, India, Saturday, July 4, 2009. Contingents of the Army, Navy and Air Force performed a rehearsal ahead of their visit to participate in a parade marking the French National Day celebrations in France on July 14, where Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be the chief guest.

Indian Army guest-troops march down the Champs Elysees avenue during rehearsal early on July 11, 2009, in Paris, in preparation of the Bastille Day parade where the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be guest of honour. France has been building closer ties with India, an emerging economic giant, and is seeking contracts to supply weapons and civilian nuclear technology.

Last year's Bastille Day Parade 2008:

UN Troops:
Image

All troops carry their own national weapons systems. The Indian soldiers are likewise carrying the INSAS.
And wearing the turban in France - The french have a law banning the wearing of religious signs. This means no Burka or skull caps. This also means no turbans allowed for the sikhs.

Waitaminute - is it just me or the Sikh soldier on the extreme left carrying the elusive black furniture INSAS? Its almost 2 AM and my eyes might be playing tricks on me....

If yes, this must be the first public sighting in the hands of IA personnel at least? I have seen RNA soldiers carrying them in the past. Please correct me if I am wrong gurulog!

The sight of a Sikh soldier wearing a turban leading the navy contingent is perhaps the most powerful image of the day. Wonder whether it was deliberate given the French government's decision to ban turbans, skull caps, etc.

Anyway, it was a brilliant display. Would be great to see an Indian contingent marching down the main avenue in Islamabad one day

Any Indian delegation to visit France ever since has a more than usual sprinkling of Truban wearing people around. When Sarkozy was visiting last year, again the same thing. Right from the protocol officer to greet him.
And no this is not because MMS is a sikh and the sikhs have 'taken over' Delhi these days.

Kashmiri people and policeman help carry an injured Indian paramilitary soldier outside a hospital in Srinagar July 21, 2009. An Indian police officer was killed and four others wounded on Tuesday when suspected separatist guerrillas attacked a police camp with a grenade, police said. No militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack on the police camp in Shopian town of south Kashmir where four police officers were arrested last week after being accused of destroying evidence in the rape and murder of two Muslim women. The incident triggered weeks of anti-India protests.

I am noticing something funny here. The CISF jawan's helmet. It looks like the German WW2 Stahlhelm helmet. Is it a standard issue of the CISF?

All German gears, weapon systems etc were advanced for that age,a well thought out design being implemented by the Americans in the '80s became standard for all the NATO armies and other militaries including the PLA.

unfortunately the sikh's are collateral damage on the french drive to preserve secularism in their constitution. their real gripe is with the rapidly proliferating hijab, but a law against muslims only is clearly discriminatory... hence all religions get included

Two questions based on the snap :-
1. How come the Indian Air Force band is doing a Navy (palm facing downwards) salute?
2. A sergeant seems to be leading the parade, while a Warrant officer (the older gentleman) seems to be part of the band team.

Any gyaan, welcome :D.

its a mag, other thing i noted is that there’s a thin cord/ wire running with BPJ upto his ears. First I thought it’s a comm. Equipment but on a close looks it looks more like a cell phone hands free ….
