I read in the news today that PC has talked about making the AFSPA "more humane". This sounds like a code word for "will tie up the army's hands in COIN/CT". What a shame. AFSPA should not be diluted at any cost. A soldier operating in a disturbed area should only be accountable to his superiors and not to any civilians- lawyers, judges etc who go around preaching abot human rights but have no idea of the ground realities.
