Don't know if this has been posted before but can be watched again and again.
By far the best recruitment video... Definitely inspired my brother to try for the NDA after his 12th...

would anybody happen to know the URL of the Indian Army recruitment video that appeared around 10-11 years back. Will describe the happenings in the video:

1st Scene shows half-covered board that reads "...of Technology, Banglalore"

Professor asks questions. Each being answered by 1 guy. With each answer, a corresponding shot of the guy, as an Army man getting to work on that Technology in the Army is shown.

Happens around 3-4 time

Towards the end of the video, Army man is shown walking through a corridor, with girls unable to take eyes off our guy

Had a major impact as a kid - ended up achieving only half though

If you remember the ad and know the URL or have it on your HDD, then please share

One of the best IA videos I have come across. I wonder why they don't show them on TV once in a while. Great PR boost.

That is shown in some Multiplexes which play National Anthem before showing movies. That and the one with various artists are the most common ones.

Why have you inserted clips of artillery and mortars in a video about Indian Nuclear weapon system ?

the portion of the song which I filled up with footage of artillery and mortar firing, referred to an impending war [Juddho = Yudha]. Tried to find some footage that could convey War+India+Nuclear all in the same scene. Did not find suitable clippping, so settled for just war+India

Please do not saar me - I posses neither the age nor the intellect for that salutation - Hiten is just perfect

This is one of the finest set of pics that I have seen of the Indian Navy. The pics of the sub line up and the SHAR formations are mind blowing!! Must see.

BTW, 5 SHARs on Viraat and 3-4 seem to be LUSH variants- 614,616 and 617 identifiable (lighter grey noses), 602 seems to be non-LUSH and the 5th one is not clear.

Here is a training video for a A-10C Warthog flight simulator. The video is highly recommended to appreciate the complexity of flying an aircraft.

Gentle folks I know of young Indians making a documentary on India pak issues and they need some public domain pics and videos of 1971 war and Kargil to be used for the same. The folks are on a shoestring budget and need the material asap. Please help with some links to files of the same. Cheers

What weapon is the soldier on the left at 0:20 holding? Resembles a Dragunov I think... its definitely a sniper rifle. First time I've seen one carried by a regular patrol before.

On a different note, I'm glad the army is increasing the media's access to such everyday operations. Its interesting, not too technical for a layperson and certainly better than the Rakhi Sawant type nonsense that 'infotainment' channels blare out incessantly.

It's the Dhruv firing the rockets. Video released five months before. Check the whole list. It's there.

Documentary on DRDO. Recently we have been bashing DRDO's PR efforts but this video seems to be a good one, though I guess it's an old one ~ 2008. Don't know whether it's been posted before. Check out the closing lines of the narrator, about DRDO's brand image.

Cheers....

The following video is a very interesting one because it shows how the exploding shells from the A-10's Gatling are seen and gheard long before the "brrrrrrrrp" of the cannon itself. Watch from 1 min 17 sec onwards

A very Happy new year folks. I start 2011 with some nostalgia - a slideshow called "An ode to the MiG 21 set to Carnatic music"

Those who recognize the tune will know why it's cool to start the year with that. I may have goofed up on one slide towards the end. My apologies to those who notice.

Wiki tells me the muzzle velocity of Gatling gun on the A-10 is just above 1000 m/s, obviously faster than speed of sound......Mujahids would be dead long before they know what hit them. :rotfl:

I thought nobody would notice. :) The original photo is a beautiful one and he had forbidden me from uploading it when he was alive.

I think he was the back up pilot for a show in which a MiG was to do a roll in front of an audience. A told to me by him, there was an open eye painted on one side and a closed eye on the other side designed to give the appearance of an eye winking. I read a story about this in Vayu recently and I think the actual flight was done by someone else - I must try and find the story.
