NEW DELHI: Income Tax department officials are conducting 'surveys' at the BBC offices in Delhi and Mumbai, reports said.
This comes amid a raging controversy over a BBC documentary on the 2002 Gujarat riots. The MEA had criticized the documentary as a propaganda and lacking objectivity.
The synchronised action began at 11am with I-T officials reaching the BBC offices on KG Marg in Delhi and at Kalina Santacruz in Mumbai. BBC staffers were asked to deposit their phones at a particular spot inside the premises, officials said.
The impounded mobile phones and laptops/desktops of some staffers the account and finance department will be handed back after a back-up is taken, sources said.
The department is looking at documents related to the business operations of the London headquartered public broadcaster and its Indian arm, they said.
The investigation is linked to international taxation issues of BBC subsidiary companies, sources indicated.
BBC News said it was fully cooperating with India's income tax authorities at its offices in New Delhi and Mumbai.
"The Income Tax Authorities are currently at the BBC offices in New Delhi and Mumbai and we are fully cooperating," the British broadcaster said on Twitter.

As part of a survey, the Income Tax department only covers the business premises of a company and does not raid residences and other locations of its promoters or directors.
the BBC currently is/and also, has long been accused of engaging in “industrial level tax avoidance” and investigations that have taken place by the UK’s tax, payments and customs authority the HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), have proven these allegations, and also, this is not the first time the notorious BBC has come under fire for fiddling its tax affairs.

On June 10, 1970, the British broadcaster aired a film depicting the Congress party in a negative light. This was followed by another anti-Congress film which was broadcast on June 23, 1970. In response, on July 1, 1970, the Indian Embassy in Britain sent a letter to the BBC and the British Foreign Office, urging them not to show such films. On July 29, 1970, the Indian government, led by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, ordered the BBC to be expelled from the country. BBC’s office in Delhi was shut down and its staff was deported along with their belongings.
On August 14, 1975, a joint statement was released by the members of the Congress in which they accused the BBC of continuously defaming India and misrepresenting its image. “BBC does anti-India reports. That’s why the government should never allow the BBC to set foot on Indian soil.”

From what I read in some other news outlets IT notices were served on BBC much before this survey/raid began. So I also have a doubt that this whole plan of re-telecasting the interview of Modi was also an attempt to blackmail and avoid the IT survey/raid. But the survey/raid was carried out any ways, so now they talk about vandetta etc. But one thing for sure; considering the Jaichands supporting BBC even today a very clever, manipulative group of people (though smaller in numbers) ruling over India is still a possibility. Things may have changed based on the technological advancements, but the human elements - treachery, petty jealousies & ego, and the Hindus being an unorganized religion still can be leveraged.

BJP should avoid negative ads. Negativity does not get votes. and voters committed to that side will still vote.
Negative ads are best left to free lancer - twitter / whatsapp groups, and keep a handsoff distance.
MH's economic heft is all down to Mumbai, Pune and a few other areas in Western MH. Even there a lot of the "industries" in Solapur and other areas will be sugar factories. Rest of the state is not much different from the much-maligned BIMARU states. This chronic neglect needs to be addressed. Only hope is if Shinde-Fadnavis government (or something similar) comes back in 2024 as well.

1. Decoding web of Foreign Funded NGOs, Their Propaganda Hit Jobs, Their Indian Partners, Their Indian agenda enablers, and their #DigitalSharpshooters
2. Meet Srishti Jaswal. She has made this tweet in June 2020.
She is full of hate against Hindus.
Now compare this with Nupur Sharma. Nupur has made counter aggrievement based on Hadith and now she is hiding herself to save her life from Jihadis.
^^ It is purely White man's operation. Nandan Nilenkani and Azim Premji are likely being arm twisted by the US (blackmailed in return for access to the US software market) to be a conduit for channeling funds to these shady websites dripping with Hindu hatred. That is how Premji set up IPSMF as a vehicle for funding these websites.
Since direct foreign funding will raise eyebrows, Whites have found this way, to make it appear as if a local NGO set up by a respected Indian businessman (Premji) is funding these websites to support "independent media" in India. Premji may be getting compensated for these funds by padding up payments made to Wipro by American clients.
But I doubt these shady websites are having any effect. Most have very poor readership and no credibility. They only offer some solace to a bunch of old farts from Cold War sitting in Washington DC to pretend as if they are doing something in India to roll back heathenry and heathen leaders.

Campaign is expected to be launched in Germany & India after it gained success in suppressing Anti-Ukraine narrative for a pilot project in East Europe.

But the whole operation works like this
Jihadis and their sponsors latch onto some thing. They start narrative liek they did Nupur Sharma. The CON/ISI/US aligned media amplifies it.
Cult in US starts amplifying. CON/ISI/US aligned media amplifies US Cult message.
Jihadis start slitting the throats. Supreme Lords spew nonsense to further divide.
I think this can be handled easily ... Whenever jihadis and sponsors start Twiiter/FB nonsense, you use law to screw any media amplifying hate. Use full might of the state to make an example out of CON media

'Lekshmana Chandra' is name of her father who was an english lecturer. He may have been the influence behind naming her as Victoria.
I do know of quite a few people in maharashtra who have both hindu first names and surnames but are 1st or 2nd gen christian converts.
I am not sure of this case many times people name kids by sports persons, political leaders like Washington etc. Her name may be that.
Adani’s woes will spur ‘democratic revival in India’, Soros says
PM Narendra Modi will ‘have to answer questions’ over fraud allegations targeting his business ally
Abhijit Iyer-Mitra @Iyervval
Soros’ comments on the impact of the Adani episode on elections show you how out of touch on India he is. Adani isn’t even in the headlines anymore. His idea of “democratic revival” is basically a government that fellates him & his worthless children. senility driven misdiagnosis
Agree or Disagree?

Which is why i said 'non-state'. But useful as a discard able tool should the state, deep or otherwise, want plausible deniability.

But the fact that old fart had to come in front of cameras means they don't think PAPPU delivered the goods?
Some wise BRF gurus had mentioned that the puppet masters have realized that ROI in Pappu is giving diminishing returns, just like the Bolly Bhais of the past 3 decades.
So they are now trying see if others can be groomed to take his spot.
Problem is that all the others are regional stars, at the most. No one with a real pan-india appeal...
"At first, they ignore you, then laugh at you, then they fight you, and then you win" - irrespective of who said this, it feels appropriate at this juncture. Looks like we are in the "fight" phase now, coinciding with Modiji's amrit kaal and decolonization plans.

Happy to see so(g)ross and ilk coming out of the shadows, financial hitjob wala toolkits exposed in the adani episode, BBC turdiness etc now itself rather than next year closer to the polls.
Lets our agencies and GoI better prep for the storm to come. Hoping NM stays in the saddle for another full term at least before passing the baton onto a chosen successor (YAN, most likely, or Amit Shah). By 2029, India will likely be too big to fell by unkil-chinkil kinda shenanigans.
George Soros has predicted India’s prime minister Narendra Modi will be weakened by the woes of business tycoon and close ally Gautam Adani, “opening the door” to a democratic revival in the country.
