just archive my good man, there is no need in this day and age to patronise any journalism that you actively do not want to patronise,

Access to limited number of articles every month is free on FT. Don't go to FT website and click on the story. Google "Modi India". Click on the FT link that Google shows. It will open.

Wonder if India is in a position (have the facilities and devices ready) to test Thermonuclear devices and validate new designs if the fall hunting season begins!

I like the FM of Guyana who spoke so very clearly on the above YT. No bragging, no bullshit Media like ABC/NBC/CBS/NYT/WaPo/BBC etc trumpeting some bogus claim, no tooting one's horn in blast mode. India is quietly doing wonders in the world, leadership in concert with Vasudeva Kutumbakam, a dharmic model for distributing vaccines, timely assistance given with humility, wanting everyone to benefit from the world resources. It is tiring to hear the Ukr-Rus tussle without the Euros going into why such a tussle started in the first place, they are quick to blame Rus and expect the rest of the world to follow their flawed thinking. I also note that the Global south recognizes genuine help from India compared to the huge strings attached model by the rich nations in the past.

France, and its ECOWAS buddies have pressured UN Sec Gen Guitterez to deny access to UNGA for the representatives of current govt of Niger.

One more nail in the coffin for the UN.

Niger situation seems to steadily get closer to war. IF the EU & US do get involved in (triggering) a war there, the current "rules based world order" may very well hasten to its end.

Notte the prominently displayed image of the golden temple after Op Bluestar. There is probably a big image of Bhindranwale as well on the opposite wall, gloating at what he achieved.

DisInfo Lab @DisinfoLab
A new ‘atrocity literature’ by a US-based 'research' org- 'Hindutva Watch' is in use by media– both Indian & intl to peddle the narrative of fascism in India.
But DID YOU KNOW #HindutvaWatch has a Pakistani hand behind it which has direct links with Pak's ruling party?

Exposé:
Image
HW started as a Twitter handle in 2019, & its website also became operational in the same year. It had no fathers until owned by Raqib Hameed Naik in 2023 with the help of WaPo journo Pranshu Verma. Verma didn’t even check the dates claiming it was founded in April 2021!

#HindutvaWatch was not the only project of Raqib Naik. He had also associated with another anti-India propaganda front ‘TwoCircles’, which is part of a larger info-war network run by Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan affiliates. We come back to this in a while.

EAM Jaishankar at the Hudson Institute was followed by a panel discussion, IMO, just as important.
https://www.youtube.com/live/XbT_aNSJNe ... 5gJ&t=4491

To paraphrase all the various YouTube -- India is a reformist, not a revisionist power. It wants the multilateral institutions, like the United Nations, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund to be reformed and made more effective. When asked, what about just having a set of bilateral and few-country treaties, especially since a future Republican administration in the US would be very skeptical of the various multilateral institutions, India's stance is that those are not enough, these organizations need to be reformed and made more effective. In the financing of sustainable development, the WB and IMF have to act as facilitators of private capital investments in sustainable development.

India wants a rules-based international order in which the rules apply equally to all.

Now, in that context, look at what happened with Trudeau. The above is all fact, the below is my opinion.

The existing powers all stand to lose some power, e.g., by UN Security Council expansion, or in setting the agenda of the IMF and WB if India gets its way. On the other hand, they want India as a counter-balance to China. So e.g, they keep the Quad going, but try to show that India does not really support a rules-based international order; try to generate enough opposition in the western world among the public to India's permanent seat in the UN Security Council, etc. How can India take a stand on a rules-based order when India itself violates the rules? This is the game they are playing. I expect the Western powers and China and maybe even Russia to pay lip service in public to "India should get a permanent Security Council seat" and behind the do their damned best to prevent that from happening.

In plain words --- it is in US/UK interest to have the Quad working well. It is not in US/UK interest to have the Security Council upgraded. The "delicate balancing game" the US is playing is not between old ally and new friend. The balance is between not offending India so much that Quad becomes ineffective, and yet generating enough internal opposition to India in their populations to be able to say "sorry, at this time, UN reform is not politically feasible for us because of domestic opposition".

That is why I believe it is important that the killers of Nijjar be exposed. I expect it won't happen unless a Conservative government in Canada finds it in its domestic political interest over and above US displeasure.

^ May I suggest that its a fools errand to find out who killed a terrorist, or for that matter to even care. All that needs to be done is to state that the bounty on this terrorist has not paid till date, and that the bounty on other terrorists sheltering in Canada is being increased.

A counterargument to all the doom and gloom.

The point is that someone is in control. We cannot ignore things that are happening, but there is a bigger picture out there. Granted it will take some time to adjust to the glare.
