I have already loosened my lungi. Waiting for official confirmation to start lungi dance. It took it's time, but this is a huge achievement nevertheless.

Also, HAL needs to make sure the Dhruv incident is not repeated.

Great news if it comes true. It will help HAL hopefully use the 3rd assembly line and also hoping that IAF can give more orders.

Two concerns:
1. Can Argentina afford to pay ? Its economy is in deep dodo.
2. HAL would likely need to re-engineer Tejas and replace the Brit stuff - MB ejection seat, Cobham nose cone etc.

Azerbaijan conveys concerns to India's ambassador over country's expanding military co-op with Armenia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 26. Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Azerbaijan Sridharan Madhusudhanan, TurkicWorld reports.

Hajiyev noted that the Azerbaijan is concerned about the expanding of military cooperation between Armenia and India and the spread of photos and videos in the media about the transportation of Indian-made weapons systems to Armenia through Iran in recent days.

He pointed out that the supply of weapons from India to Armenia is happening when Azerbaijan is negotiating with this country on a peace treaty. This opens the way to the militarization of Armenia and aggravation of the situation, as well as hinders the establishment of lasting peace and security in the South Caucasus region.

It is also incompatible with India's foreign policy based on the norms and principles of international law, as well as with the historical "Bandung principles" of the Non-Aligned Movement, in which India is also represented, Hajiyev said.

Azerbaijan's top official called on the Indian ambassador to bring to the attention of Delhi the serious concern of the Azerbaijani side and once again consider India's decision to supply weapons to Armenia.

Madhusudhan said that the issue raised by the Azerbaijani side will be conveyed accordingly, and noted the importance of holding a dialogue between the two countries to discuss problematic issues in bilateral relations.

Absolutely stunning. That is a 48% CAGR for Indian defense exports. And we are just getting started. In addition to Brahmos, Pinaka, we need some big ticket items that moves the needle. ATAGs and Swathi aren't cutting it. PM's target is 35K Cr by 2024-2025.

https://twitter.com/DivaJain2/status/17 ... 6791932390 ---> Very encouraging signs. One would think that with low cost labor and large domestic consumer India would have comparative advantage in the manufacture of low tech hardware and ordnance.

We might not have to wait too long before Russia starts reverse imports of some defense equipment from India. We crossed the ocean and are on their street. Just a matter of time before we knock their door with a sales brochure and delivery.

EXCLUSIVE | Indian defence triumph: Bharat Dynamics secures major deal from Armenia amidst global achievements, say sources
https://www.zeebiz.com/india/news-india ... ces-269201
18 Dec 2023
Zee Business learned from reliable sources that Armenia has acquired the Akash Air Defence System and 15 AAD Systems from BDL, with the transaction estimated to be valued between Rs 5,000 crore and Rs 6,000 crore.

In a momentous development in the global arms trade, Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL) reportedly finalised a major defence deal with Armenia, sending its stock to a record high on Monday.

This pivotal government-to-government agreement is expected to unfold over the next 4-5 years, as disclosed by credible sources.

BDL shares finished the session with a gain of Rs 136.2, or 9.8 per cent, at Rs 1,527.5 apiece on BSE after hitting an all-time high of Rs 1,597.8 during the session.

At the time of publishing this report, Zee Business's several queries sent to BDL remained unanswered.

Simultaneously, highlighting the prowess of Indian defence manufacturing, recent deals with other nations have solidified the country's position on the global stage.

Indian defence companies have secured notable contracts, contributing to the country's growing influence in the international arms market.

In another noteworthy development, Oman has expressed interest in discussions with BDL for the Akash Air Defence System.

While negotiations are ongoing, this underscores a trend in international defence collaborations and signifies the growing strategic alliances between India and nations in the region.

Akash procurement by them shows that, when it comes to capabilities, our kit is amongst the best in the world.

Growth areas will be Asia-Pacific, Africa, South America and Central Asia.

Main target would be countries that employ Soviet/Russian weapons. India has the best products (design, capability and cost) to replace non-Western weapon systems because of its own multi-decade experience using those systems and improving upon them with infusion of both Eastern-Western paradigms along with its own stringent requirements from armed forces and extreme environments.
